Malcom scanned around the area as the group moved forward for any hint of attack coming from the undergrowth. In the past decade and a half since Ark broke up Goldmans operation the plantlife had grown unchecked and there was no telling how far the infected plantlife had taken over, at least it gave a damn good warning that it was about to attack, nothing more noticable than a moving vine or a pulsing bulb getting ready to vomit toxin.
"You know Riko, the team comes first with me, mission a close second due to the fact that we need the team to finish the mission. So I'd lose the attitude."
He moved his sheathed sword down to his belt, keeping a grip on it with the other on his revolver ready to lash out at anything out of place.

“If you girls are done arguing, we do have a job to do.” Daniel said, talking to the whole group. “Like a group of five year olds…” He muttered, going up front and scanning the horizon again. He stopped on a building, scanning it and using the scope to read the sign.
“I have a visual on the library.” He said. He passed the rifle to Malcolm and pulled up his M4. He shouldered it and placed the strap over his neck. “Stay here with Rio and Elijha. Your coming with me to clear the place.” He said to Riko. “And that’s an order.” He added. He didn’t throw around the command position he had often, especially because he was equal in rank to Rio and Malcolm. He had reasons for picking Riko to come along, even if he was weary of him. If it was a trap, he wanted Rio out of it, Elijha here to guarantee her safety. Malcolm had the sniper rifle to clear them a path, provide a window if they had to make a quick getaway. The area they were in was clear for the moment, they had just made sure of it. Not to mention at this point Riko was proving less and less useful. Were he the same as he used to be, he’d probably have had Elijha come with him and Riko stay to guard his sister.
“Move it.” Daniel said, starting down the hill and across the open plain, leading with his rifle.

Riko huffed as Daniel took command. Still he had orders to follow, and he moved when he was told too. Though he didn't have to like as much as he had to follow them. They moved slowly around the buildings keeping up their guard, and making sure that no one had a way to get behind them. He didn't trust Malcom all to much, and figured that he wouldn't hesitate to shoot him if he had the chance. The library wasn't that far of a walk, and they reached it in no time. From the outside everything looked clear, and intact. In fact it looked like it was well kept even over the years of abandoment. "So what now . . . Oh- gloreous leaer," he said with a sarcastic tone.
---------------------------
Rio sat down against the wall taking in several deep breaths, before slowly letting it out. "Riko's different," she spoke lightly so that only Malcom could hear her. "I- I don't know what's gotten into him, but he's never acted this way before," she said as she looked up to him. "I don't understand what is happening to him."

"Gracias." Malcom took the rifle and found himself a decent high spot to watch over the area with the girls. Checking the scope he gave the library a once over through whatever windows he could. Too early to tell right now but the lower floors looked clear and shockingly, a lot of the books were still on the shelves, thankfully for civilisation zombies didn't burn literature at the first sign of a cold breeze. Hopefully the goosesteppers wouldn't get any ideas of their own bonfires. He swivelled the scope around to check up on Daniel and Riko.
"Trespassers." He boomed over the radio. "You have entered the lands of the mighty Malcom, pay tribute lest I smite thee."
After joking around he clicked off his mic to listen to Rio's concerns.
"I know what you mean, he's getting angry at something, wondering if we should mention it to Art later, have him take some time off on medical leave, at least I hope it's that simple."

“Well, if you wanna assume its clear and waltz in like you own the place, by my guest. What would you like me to carve on your tombstone?” He asked, stacking up next to the doorframe and held up three fingers for a split second. He didn’t miss a beat as he lowered two, leaving the middle finger up for Malcolm a second longer. He mouthed out the count, and on three he swung open the door.
Going in first, he scanned the immediate room just enough to make sure it was clear and moved on. He took the right side of the floor while Riko took the left. Neither found anything.
“Clear.” He whispered into his microphone. “Stairs, there.” He pointed out, moving toward them and ascending quickly. It was a short search of the second floor as well, and it turned up clear as well. Curious. A building in such good condition, good up keeping over a span of years, and no one in sight. No sign of anyone being here either, besides the lack of overgrowth.
“Building clear. But I have a bad feeling.” He said into his microphone to Malcolm, Rio, and Elijha. “Make your way here, slowly. We’ll keep searching.” He said, continuing to look in places he already had for anything that may make itself known at this moment.

Elijha helped Rio up to her feet once more. She looked back at the Captain and motioned him to follow. She pulled out her own weapon, and slowly followed behind Malcom. They made their way down the same path that Daniel and Riko had taken finding themselves at the front door of the library again. Moving inside the building the Captain and shut the door behind them. Elijha moved Rio over to one of the computer terminals and sat her down.
Rio was quick to turn around and turned the computer on. "One thing that is good. The power is still working," she commented. She started flipping through the computer before stopping and looking at the rest of the group. "I have the Captain, and four of his men here. I'll be fine with them. Daniel why don't you take Malcom, Riko and Elijha with you," she pointed out. She hit print on the computer before looking back at one of the men. "Can you hand that to them?"
He picked up three sheets of paper off the printer and handed it to Malcom. "That's the up close areal view of this island. It's found in the database here, probably not anywhere else. You four be careful, and I'll continue to see what I can find out."

Malcom checked over the aerial photo Rio had given him, matching it against his PDA maps to see any updates, from the looks of things some areas had fallen into disrepair whilst plants had overgrown without caretakers to trim them. The sewer runoffs and storm drains also seemed to have dried up or reduced in water flow.
"Well, best way is a straight line, looks like we could either go through the prison or the hospital to get to the cable car station quickest, then it's right up to the base on the mountains. Any sincell already here we can catch them between us and the first team, any thoughts Danny?"
He offered Daniel back his rifle and showed him the maps, spreading them out along the table.

Daniel’s eyes scanned the maps quickly, taking in the information in front of him. He filed it away in the imaginary filing cabinets in his mind for future use. When he was done, he looked over at Malcolm.
“I’d have to say hospital. A prison screams trap. Not to mention, even if its abandoned, it can be hard to navigate the security. Especially if its been left locked up.” He said. He didn’t want to be on the receiving end of an ambush in a place meant to hold people.
“Hospital?” He said, looking around the room for compliance. Technically, he only needed Malcolm to approve, but he wanted to get other opinions or ideas on the situation. From most of the people anyway. Riko wasn’t getting much of a say in this.

Elijha nodded as did Rio. "Alright you four be careful. I'll be able to contact you via radio. When I get ahold of the satellites I'll let you know exactly what's going on. Hopefully live feed will help us know what were dealing with on the island," she pointed out. She nodded to the group again as she watched them leave again. "Oh before you go. come in through the back in the alley. I'm going to have the Captain here baracade the front door and guard the back," she pointed out as she watched the disappear.
"Alright hospital. You know seen the map so which way do we go?" she asked as she looked up and down the street. Her eyes drifting to the sky. "Looks like we have a storm comming in. We best be heading out."

"Good luck cap, we'll warn you before we come in, password could be...a-whop-bop-a-loo-bop." The troops stiffled laughs, last thing any sincell would think of.
Malcom left with the rest of the group, bringing up Ark Thompsons files to get an idea of what they could expect from the local flavour, no telling what was new but at least they wouldn't be suprised by the old. They ended up on the main road heading towards the hospital, the arcade on one side of the street with the stairs to the underpass and a row of payphones on the other.
"Okay, watch out going on these main roads, Umbrella had their old standbys, dobermans attack dogs, for security so when the outbreak took place they got loose and took over the streets for some time. Also a cleaner squad was deployed in that arcade, apparently they were all killed but watch out for gunfire all the same, those custom smgs are supposed to have a heck of a rate of fire."
He skipped past the boring bits about a survivor sniping from one of the buildings (since he was apparently killed later) to details on the hospital.
"Hmm, metal detectors, Ark's file says that the noise from them when he stumbled through teed off some lickers and a Mr X broke several walls chasing him, so watch out for unstable maisonry."

“Keep in mind that thing is over ten years old. A long time for this place to go under and be taken over by the new group of bad guys.” Daniel said, stopping at the corner of the building and taking a look out into the street. Empty. A little too empty. If Sincell were here, shouldn’t they be patrolling the area? Or having their experiments do it for them? A system of cameras to keep an eye on things? Even soda cans filled with coins attached to string, for f**ks sake? It couldn’t be this easy. It had been so far, but that was either outside city limits or just inside them. There was something here they were missing.
But he couldn’t put his finger on it.
At the moment, he tried to think of which way they could take. They were both equally dangerous. Both could be set up for an ambush easily. The arcade was more enclosed, less than easy to escape if they needed to. The underpass was out in the open, and that meant an ambush could be set up a thousand yards away. But it may be easier to maneuver. s***…
“The arcade.” He said, pointing to it and moving out in the point guard position. If they ran into an ambush there, at least they would be able to see what was trying to take them by surprise.

Rio cheered as she threw her hands up in the as she managed to get control of the satellites. The Captain was quick to hush her with a hidden smile. Rio was a Doctor when it come to science, her computer skill more or less came as a learned as she went. After a few years she had become quite a hacker.
------------------
There radio's blared to life with Rio's voice on the other side. "Hey I've got the satellites up, but I have a problem with that. I can't use the infered system. There is somekind of heating system under the island that is interfearing with them. So all I'll be able to do is give you minute pictures," she pointed out
"Then what good was it to bring her with," Riko mummbled as he followed behind Daniel and Malcom. There was a loud smack. "Ow . . . what did you do that for."
"Because your little ignorance is getting annoying."
Riko stopped and turned around to face Elijha. He glared at her threw his cold eyes. "What are you going to do?"
Elijha grinned slightly as she took a step forward. "Pathetic human," she said with a smile. She reached out gripping him by the shirt and lifted him off the ground. "Remember I am not human, and if it wasn't for them I would snap you like a twig," she growled.

Mal stepped forward and eased Elijahs arm down, making her lower Riko. Couldn't have the team killing each other right off the bat, more guns on their side were preferable.
"Okay you two, ease up. Noone is getting snapped, and Riko, cut your sis a break and put in for some downtime after this job, you've been stressed out this whole time."
When they got to the arcade double doors, Daniel and Malcom took position on either side, drawing their guns before entering and clearing out the room in case of any ambushers. Dan poked his rifle under a row of slot machines whilst Mal checked the aisles between the video game cabinets. Elijah and Riko shut the door behind them whilst making sure noone was following.

Daniel finished his search of the video machines and moved foreword. There was a counter that was used for dispensing coins and such, along with a corner that led to another row of machines. He spun for a moment and jumped a bit, ending in a sitting position on the counter and spun around again. He scanned behind it and found nothing, sliding down behind the counter. He went in low to use the counter as cover, just in case, and checked the next area. Clear from here. Malcolm met him at the corner, the other two following closely, and they entered. Again, a full search and the building was empty. This was starting to get eerie. Where was everyone?
“Something’s wrong.” He said aloud. He pressed the receiver for his radio and spoke. “Rio, are you seeing anything? It’s too quiet around here.” He said. He was hoping for both answers. That it really was clear and they could move on without hesitation. Or that an army was down the block getting ready to kill them. Either way, he’d know.

There was a bit of static over the radio after Daniel had finished. It was almost like someone was trying to talk back but nothing was coming across. After a minute Rio's voice came over the radio. "No . . . I find it quite weird. It's like th-" Her words were cut off in mid sentience as the static seemed to pick up a bit more. There was some kind of interference within the radio system.
Elijha put her hand up to her head as a sheering pain coursed threw her brain. Grinding her teeth as she took a step back, the pain seeming to pulse threw her ears and down her neck. Threw her eyes and into her temple. She had felt pain a lot in her life, but this was different . . . this pain hurt differently. It was nothing like a migraine, but she knew that it wasn't good.
Riko noticed Elijha and quickly stepped over to give her a hand. She stumbled again, but as his hand went to steady her. She swung hard enough that the force of her punch threw clear into the vending machines across the room. As Malcom and Daniel turned to see what had happened Elijha was already gripping the back on Malcom's neck. In one swift motion he was thrown across the room into the slot machines just as her other hand gripped Daniel and threw him against the wall. She turned to look at the three men her eyes empty as she stood there debating who was the biggest threat.
