Anna nodded and smiled at Rabbit momentarily from the kitchen when she heard the creaking of the floors under their steps, the door and screen door open, then slam shut. Grimacing at the sound, she'd narrowed her eyes a bit. 'Attract all the walkers, all of them...' she'd thought jokingly.
She'd began to pace back and fourth through the room, taking inventory of all the food that'd been stored away in the cabinets, pantry and fridge. She was going to be housing a group of people soon and wanted to ensure they had enough to eat but the more she'd wondered about it, the more she'd found herself walking half way away from the kitchen altogether to look back at the door down the hall.
'The basement...I could just put them down there, I mean...there's cots and plenty of food and water stored in there...but I don't want to wake up and find the bastards gone with all my dad's sh*t' she'd thought to herself. The basement was heavily secured from the outside and the inside. She and Jack made sure of that right after the incident in Raccoon 1998. Spent alot of money and hard labor to do it, too.
"Mom...?" Jimmy called. Anna glanced over at her son, quietly and expectantly. He'd been standing by the front door, oddly. "I smell weed."
Placing both hands on her hips, she'd wrinkled her nose. "How the hell do you know what that smells like, James Henry McGraw?"
Jimmy bolted off upstairs with his bag, grinning. Anna watched him go and smiled, checking her watch afterwards. It was barely touching on 9 a.m. Lowering her arm, she'd rubbed the back of her neck, looking back at the basement door again. She'll just keep it in consideration. For now they can sleep in the guest room downstairs or the living room. If they try to pry open the locks, she'd know.
Plopping down on the couch, Anna had once more stared up at the ceiling fan, resting a hand on her stomach and gently rubbing in a circular motion. She was hungry but somehow too nervous to eat. She knew she had to, of course, not only because it was good to stay nourished but for her personal state as well. The entire house had been cold now since there was a lack of heat. Her mind drifted off to the barn, hopefully the horses were alright, she'd have to check on them soon.
It was settled, she was gonna do just that then get something to eat. Getting upto her feet, she'd called up to the stairs. "Hon, I'm gonna go check on the horses, alright?" she asked, waiting for a response.
"Okaaaay!" he called from his room. With that, the woman started outside, careful not to inhale the smoke as she'd passed Rabbit and Dani on the porch. "Rabbit, can you keep an eye on my son for me while I check on the horses?" she asked before looking over at Dani. "And can you watch the treelines while I'm doing that? I'm sure Rabbit told you about the little...problem we had last night,"

"Well its not like I could outrun them, yo! I got a little too cocky, and it stuck up on me. Sh*t happens, ya know, what can ya do about it? Least it aint infected, I wasnt sure at first, past out when it happened." Dani had been a little worried know what scratched him, but was a little more confused as to why he wasnt infected. The scratches from the infected would do it, she was sure of that. The amphibians should do the same, but knowing that they didnt would certainly make things easier. Possibly it was because they would go into the water, maybe wash off the virus from its fingers or something. Maybe she was just overthinking it, didnt matter anyways, Rabbit was fine. "Right right, well its just a good thing that your okay. And youll have some seriously badass scars to show off to the others, huh? Your still here, its not, whats that proving, huh?"
Taking another puff, Dani pass it back, and then looked off into the treeline. It was a bit hard to believe, it would make sense all the way out here. The infected? No, but other things would be more popular. It was then that Anna asked if they could watch her kid Jimmy, and Dani instantly respond. "No problem, Anna! Take your time." She sensed trust in them, with something like watching her kid like that. After another puff, Rabbit walked into the house, closing the door behind him as to not drag in the smoke. Unfortunately after all the time hiding it, the look on Jimmys face when he seen Rabbit was a give away. "Uhh, dont do drugs, yo."
The cellphone on the patio rang, and Dani answered it before the first ring even finished. "Clearwater, where are you? ... Yeah, we got out of their as soon as you called, were safe in the country. ... An old farmhouse just a few clicks off the main highway, its far enough that the military wont bother us, dont worry. Now where are you? ... Alright, ill see you soon." But as Dani hung up the phone, Rabbit was standing at the screen door with a curious look on his face. "Is everything alright?" Without thinking too much about it, Dani answered causually. "Yeah, its fine. The military cleared out the road in less than an hour. Clearwaters bringing the RV here in a little bit. Said he turned his phone off, battery was almost dead, if that counts ad a problem."
Almost at the same second, Rabbit pushed open the door, and looked at Dani with a disgruntled look. All this time hes been trying to gain Annas trust, and then she comes along and just invites everybody over. It was bad enough when Rabbit himself came, and he asked nicely. "Are you high or something??! This isnt even our place, Dani! F*ck! You dont know what its like to gain somebodies trust through all of this, do you? Everybody youve been around just accepted you because you were with me..." Rabbit didnt want to raise his voice too much, in fear that Anna would hear them, but it was enough for Jimmy to adknowledge that there was an obvious problem. "Look, just go tell Anna, see what she thinks. If its not okay with her, then we can deal with it."

Anna had been standing infront of the barn, unlocking all four locks that her father installed a few years back after one of their horses had been stolen. She'd pulled open the barn doors and immediately covered her mouth and nose, gagging heavily. The smell had been putrid inside, nothing like manure, but like rot. The agent looked into the barn to see what was practically a slaughter house. The horse's had been strewn around the hay covered floor, their swollen bellies ripped open and pieces of them trailing toward the back end of the barn itself.
Looking forward, Anna had seen a large hole. As if something clawed and rammed it's way through. Wasn't too soon after she'd remembered there'd been a weak spot, rotten wood that needed to be replaced since the last visit. Whatever broke in had broke in through the narrow, rotted plank back there.
"Christ..." she's gagged out, feeling the rise of vomit in her throat.

The trek across the lawn had been a long one for Dani, or at least it seemed like it. It was true what Rabbit said, she hadnt been around new survivors in a long time, and almost forgot about the whole trust barrier thing. She didnt know anything about Anna, but at this point, it seemed like she has been through some rough stuff. On top of that, Anna was the first female survivor that Dani had the pleasure of even talking to, least ones that didnt try to kill her and take her supplies. She traveled in a group of five, no more no less. Anymore and things usually got too crowded, but any less and not all of your bases are covered. With each member doing their job, it kept the team alive. Thats what it was all about, teamwork, but to a certain extent.
Trying to find out what to tell her, Dani approached the barn, but as she got closer, the smell alerted her. Pulling out her sidearm, she aimed it forward, and seen Anna back out. "Walkers?" She lowered her gun, and then looked inside for herself. The horses had all been ripped to pieces, and eaten down to nearly the bone. But their hadnt been any infected inside, so it was clear to put her gun away. It didnt really feel like a good time to be telling her the bad news, but it had to be done eventually, so there was no real need in waiting. "Hey, look, Anna. I got something to tell you..." Before she could finish her sentence, out of the corner of her eye, Dani seen the field blooming full of walkers. Her eyes widened, it was even a sight she hadnt seen in a long time. It was almost like a wall of them, at least one hundred. "Holy sh*t."

Anna had looked out and over to the fields. Why hadn't she'd noticed them before, how the hell did they possibly overlook all those bodies? Grinding her teeth, the agent bolted off toward the house. She'd ran up the porch, pushing passed Rabbit who'd been gawking at them in surprise. She'd seen Jimmy looking out the window, shivering.
"M-Mom! Mom, there's too many! What-what are we gonna do?! Mom!" he called out to her. Anna reached to her back holster on her belt, pulling the Beretta out and pulling the slide back, then handed it to her son. "Go upstairs and lock your door, alright? Try to push your bed against the door, got me?" she asked of him. Before he could respond, she'd placed a hand on his head and held him close, kissing the top of his head.
"Now go!"
The boy ran off upstairs, the gun left on safety for now. Anna watched before grabbing at her dufflebag and unzipping it. She'd pulled out a case and unlocked it, pulling two grenades. She'd clipped them to her belt and made her way back to the porch, shotgun in hand.
"Rabbit, you know how to use a grenade?" she asked, keeping her eyes straight ahead at the shambling wall of undead across the road. It wouldn't kill all of them, but it might just break off some of the heavier clusters.
"I don't want these mother f*ckers anywhere near this house, so we need a solid plan." she told the two of them. Without wasting time, she'd began jogging down the muddy road left behind their truck. "We gotta work fast, so we can come up with one while we start picking them off."

The amount of walkers, Rabbit never seen so many moving in one direction. He was too much to even comprehend where they came from, but there wasnt any time to think about it. When Anna had asked him if he knew how to use a grenade, he wanted to speak out, but didnt know exactly what to say. It couldnt be that hard, but its not like he would have any need for one, aside from being in this situation. Before Rabbit could even answer, Dani spoke out quickly, and then shockingly ran toward them in a jog. "Throw one on my signal!" This was the first time Rabbit seen the woman doing something this crazy. Sure, there were times when she lured several of the walkers, but this as just insanity. It was too late to stop her now though, and he could only look at Anna, and assure her that Dani knew what she was doing. "Just trust her, I dunno, f*ck!!" Doing that was a little easier said then done, but they didnt have much choice in the matter.
Dani had been moving toward them in a jog, but jumping to the side at the same time, trying to lure them away. She fired off her beretta a few times at them, not aiming for the head, just firing into their general direction. The loud gunshots attracted them like flies to honey, and in a matter of seconds, each and every one of them began to pile toward her. She moved paralelle to the house now, jumping up and down to try and see over them, where the line ended. Zig zagging, and and forth, Dani finally cut around them, trying to get them as close to one another as possible. As she done this, she was moving a little closer to Anna, who was now hopefully understanding what the tactic was all about. "Yo, throw a grenade in the center of them the next time she passes by, I think I get what shes trying to do!"

Anna watched the crazy-ass woman run off, kiting the zombies. A nice group of them had followed her, but when some of them noticed Anna and Rabbit, they began to break away and shuffle after them. By then, Anna had already groaned and looked at Rabbit, momentarily. "What a waste of ammo and energy."
When Dani came running back, Rabbit yelled at her to throw the grenade at the cluster of undead. Anna unclipped one from her belt and unpinned it, running backwards with the others before throwing it into the crowd. Some of the zombies, curiously reached for it when it landed between their legs when the thing went off.
A nice little chunk of them had been pulled apart, most of them only been knocked onto the ground, spread out more. Before Dani could try the tactic again, Anna noticed her heavy breathing. "Let's just try to shoot them for a bit, alright? Otherwise you're gonna fall out and be no help at all," she told her.
With that, Anna had nodded at Rabbit. "Alright, let's take out the rest now, spread out and start pulling them into small groups, it'll be easier to funnel them that way," she explained. Didn't take long for the agent to run off, waving her arms a little and calling out to some of them.
"C'mon ya rotting f*cks! Breakfast here! Come'n get it!" she yelled out, catching the attention of several of them. Along the way, there'd been three of the grenade surviving ghouls, crawling along the grass. Anna wasted no time in booting their heads in. Doing so, she'd looked back up and took aim at three other heads of the zombies she'd gotten after her.
Her feet spread apart, firmly and she'd taken in a breath before pulling the trigger. A loud bang crackled through the air, then another. That was three down, two stumbling back from the impact of the buckshots.
As she'd cotinued to push back some of the small numbers with her weapon, she'd nearly missed the walker sneaking up behind her. It'd reached it's arms out, shuffling faster after the agent, mouth agape. It's cold fingers barely touched at her neck and shoulder when she'd spun around, slamming the gun against the side of it's head, hard enough to stun it and send it shambling backwards. She then went on to blast it's head off, but found the shotgun empty.
Slinging it over her shoulder, she'd unholstered her Colt from her shoulder holster and sent a bullet through it's head. It dropped quickly and left her to turn back around to find five more undead making their way across the field to her.
"Where did you all come from?!" she groaned, taking shots at them, carefully.

Being fit and full of energy, and having a very broad imagination, Dani run around the entire field, looping back and forth. The infected that got closer, she hacked with her machete, a quick slash to the head is all you needed. Not a decapitation, but enough to hit the brain, and render is dead, for good this time. Slowly but surely, he had taken them down, but was running out of breath. Thats when the grenade went off, but luckily she was far enough away. The impact knocked ninety percent of them to the ground, and a good half of them had been obliterated, beyond getting up against at least. The rest managed to rise to their legs, but were much slower. By how she hoarded them, only one grenade was needed to make the impact, and the rest could be killed off with a little more effort.
Rabbit didnt have his gun with him, but without even asking Anna, he instinctively ran toward the house. The gunfire had been drawing the infected away from him and his dash, which meant that Jimmy was safe inside. Grabbing his TMP from his bag inside, Rabbit fished around for a full magazine, knowing that his last was nearly empty. "Come on, that cant be the last one...", he spoke to himself. Where she seen effort, she also seen entertainment. But as Anna seen that she was running out of breath and told her to use her gun, Dani lowered the large knife in her left arm, while aiming her Beretta with the other hand at the infected. She would wait until they got within biting range before she pulled the trigger though, that was she wouldnt miss, and with a well placed shot, she could even two in a row.
Moving back outside with the TMP, which only had about twenty shots left in it, Rabbit stood with Anna, assisting her shells and keeping the infected even more at bay. "Dont think I have to tell you, but theyre attracted by noise. Maybe they followed the engine of your truck from the highway?" Watching Dani run around was a site to see, interesting how she got entertainment out of the most dangerous of situations. Not really sure what kind of impression it would give Anna, but hopefully she wouldnt be too worked up when she sees the RV pull up a few hours from now.

Anna glanced at Rabbit momentarily and shrugged a little, doubting that the engine would have stirred them all up. "I was lead to believe your group had taken out the walkers by the highway, guess not....either way, I doubt that these infected followed my truck engine, they could but they wouldn't get here this quickly," she explained, popping off four more shots at three walkers.
She'd released the empty clip, reaching for another in her hip pouch and quickly popped it into the Colt while Rabbit provided cover fire. With that, she'd jogged off, pacing herself and nailing a nearby undead in it's neck. Gunky-like blood splurted out of the wound and it gurgled after her before another shot ended it's undead life. Moving swiftly, she'd maneuvered around some of the old debris of an old broken down tractor, where a hand full of the walkers had been.
"Not that many left, looks like," Anna breathed, holstering her sidearm and pulling the shotgun back out. From there, she'd began reloading it as quickly as she possibly could before pumping it and sending a blast at the small crowd.
Back in the farmhouse, Jimmy had been standing in the hallway of the upstairs, looking downward at the landing. He couldn't hear his mother anymore, just heavy gunfire outside. Part of him scolded himself for going against his mother's words, but he was worried about her. Descending the stairs, he'd shakily held the handgun in his hand, his eyes sweeping the living room. From there, he walked toward the window, one foot infront of the other.
From the backside of the house, there'd been what looked like a dog, rummaging through the barn at the remains of the horses. When it finished it off, it trotted out of the back of the barn and started toward the back of the home. It suddenly began to sniff the air and made it's way to the back door, sniffing around the old doggie door before slipping through it, leaving a bloody mess.
Jimmy had been looking out the window, frozen stiff when it heard the clacking coming from behind him. Turning around slowly, his eyes widened at what appeared in the center of the kitchen, staring at him. It's flesh had been missing from different patches of it's body and it gnarled teeth had been oozing clotting blood. His first instinct was to scream but it didn't seem to be moving toward him.
'God...I-I don't think...I don't think I should scream...I'll just...' he thought, slowly inching toward the stairs. As he did, the dog let off a howl and began to bark at the boy, darting straight at him. Jimmy finally took off upstairs, screaming before leaping through his bedroom door and slamming it shut behind him. The dog immediately began pounding it's body into the door, scratching at it and sticking it's nose through the bottom crack.
"MOM! MOM! HELP ME! PLEASE! MOM!!" he screamed.
Back outside, Anna had looked back to check on Dani when she realized Rabbit was still shooting at the walkers, far from the farmhouse. She'd suddenly narrowed her eyes and began running toward the house as fast as her feet could carry her. "Dammit, Rabbit! I told you to watch the damn house!" she barked.

"I didnt see any get in that front door, I swear!" Rabbit yelled out in retort, but mostly confused because he was certain that none of those infected got near the house. At least not from the front. His TMP clicked out of ammo, but by then, Dani had been back to using her machete. Thats when a howling sound came from close to the house. "Catch!" The gun was tossed into the air, and Rabbit caught it with both hands. "Go check it out, I got these on my own." Nodding, Rabbit took off with Anna toward the house, just catching a glimpse of her disappear inside the front door.
Dani had been taking her sweet time killing the remaining twenty infected, letting her mind run wild. They had been coming at her from all sides, but she was able to handle them all, keep them at bay long enough to take them out before getting close enough to bite her. When it seemed that none were standing, Dani began to search through the field, looking for any that might have been just blasted in two by the grenade. Crawlers were hard to locate, especially in tall grass. Dani turned back to the house to see two more standing up, and had been moving back toward the house now, but they wouldnt get too far. The machete was thrown through the air, driving itself into the back of a walkers head. Leaving it there, Dani walked up to the last one, and pushed it to the ground like a school yard bully.
Rabbit moved around to the back of the house, only to see several dogs snooping around, getting closer to the house. Aiming the pistol with two hands, and kneeling down slightly, he took pot shots at the hounds. When the began to run toward him, Rabbit stood his ground, taking his shots even more carefully. After the dogs had been dispatched, Rabbit ran into the house with the gun drawn, and hollered out. "Anna, is the little man alright?!"
"Where did you come from?" Dani kicked the infected in the stomach, not allowing it to get back up. But only a groan escaped it mouth as it took the punishment. Two more good kicks, the last in the side of the face, all remaining teeth being knocked out. "Huh? How many more of you are there left?" Finally, she let the walker get back up, and slowly turn around to face her. As he did, Dani punched it in the eye, making it stumble backwards and then stay still for a moment. "Are you gonna answer me or what?" The zombie lunged forward, but Dani spun around, kicking it back onto the the ground, and then knelt down on top of it backs, dead arms trying to reach up and grab her. "Ill let you get up when Anna comes, maybe youll reconsider before that. Shes not going to appreciate you uncooperative tone..."
It was obvious at this point that Dani had an overactive imagination, and treated the entire thing like a game. She pretended that the infected was a survivor, and she had be interrogating him for information. If anybody had seen her doing this, they would think she lost her marbles, but it was all in good fun in her eyes. A few more good punches to the back of the head was all it took to expose the walkers brain, and once it was, she pulled out a small pocked knife, driving it into the back, twisting it until all motion stopped.

When Anna had gotten into the house, she could hear the loud barking coming from upstairs and her son screaming for her. She hadn't wasted any time bolting up there, ignoring the pack of mutts that Rabbit had been gunning down in the living room and kitchen. As she'd reached the top, she'd found one of the beasts slamming it's body into the door, splintering it.
"Hey! You f*cking mutt!" she screamed, catching it's attention. The dog looked at her, turning it's entire body around to face her. It crouched down low, growling before running full tilt. The agent blasted it's head apart in less than two shots, splattering blood and matter across the walls and doors. It's body went limp, shambling onto the floor.
The door began to unlock but before it did, Anna called out. "No, stay in there, I gotta take care of the rest. Do not come out until I come for you, alright?" she asked, aggressively. Jimmy muffled a cry from the other side. Anna sighed and turned around, running back down the stairs to aid Rabbit.
Upon reaching her friend, she pointed the barrel of the shotgun at the incoming hounds but found that they were too close to Rabbit for her to fire buckshots into them. She'd dropped the sturdy weapon onto wooden floor and skidding it across to Rabbit, while she unholstered her Colt once more.
"Rabbit, use the shotgun!" she called out to him, taking pot shots at the canines.

Grabbing the shotgun, Rabbit aimed it at the incoming dog, and blasted it with a single shell. This was the first time in a few years that he fired off a shotgun, and in his whole life, it hadnt been often enough to get used to the recoil. The large impact it made decimated the head of the beast, dropping the body to the floor in a split second. The other two were already nearing him, and another shell popped off quickly as the first, only he didnt need to close his eyes this time. Pulling the trigger a third and final time, there wasnt any impact, seemed the gun was empty. The dog had clamped it teeth down onto the barrel of the gun, and Rabbit dropped back first to the floor, keeping it at bay with the weapon as a shield.
Using his knee, he pushed off the hound, and then held the shotgun as if it was a blunt weapon, clobbering it over the head several times before it stopped moving. A last smash caved in its skull, and blood pooled from the wound, he knew it was finally dead. Breathing heavily, Rabbit looked at Anna, giving her a sign that the danger was over for now.

Anna lowered her gun and moved out toward the screen door, pushing it open to see Dani had been taking care of the little remaining ghouls. She and Rabbit could take care of it, right now she needed to see if her son was alright. Moving toward the base of the stairs, she'd looked upwards.
"Rabbit, go help Dani finish them off, I need to check on my son," she told him, ascending the staircase. When she'd gotten upstairs, she'd nudged the dead dog aside and knocked on the door, nudging her forehead against it.
"Sweetheart...? It's safe now, Rabbit and I took care of the dogs, you can come out now," she said, softly, shutting her eyes momentarily.
The woman had been running down the cramped streets of Raccoon, Rich had been running ahead of her, securing their escape route when the ground began to quake and ripped open, separating her from her friend. A massive, inhuman, screech had bolted through her ears while she held onto the five year old Jimmy tightly.
"Mom...?"
Anna's eyes snapped open and she'd been staring blankly into her son's face who had been hugging by now. She'd swallowed the lump in her throat and felt her muscles ease before gently ruffling her son's head and holding onto him with her other arm.
"Are you alright?" she asked him, finally.
"Yeah, I'm...I'm alright...." her son told her, walking back to his old bed and sitting at the end. He'd looked down, his hands and shoulders trembling.
Anna walked through the room, seating herself beside the twelve year old. "I just...froze up...I-I...if it weren't for you I would have died," he told his mother.
The agent frowned and wrapped an arm around her son's shoulders. "It's alright, you're alive and that's all that matters," she said, nudging her chin on the side of his head.

"Yeah, iight..." Rabbit was glad that Annas son was okay, and for the most part, it was the most on his mind in quite awhile. The years he spent wandering had toughened him up, nothing bad ever happened, at least nothing involving a kid, or that theyre been through a hundred times before. The bad news wouldnt come until it showed up at their front door, and it would most likely cause a problem. But for now, it didnt matter, what happened would happen, and it would probably be for the better.
As he got outside, Rabbit seen Dani on top of a lone infected. He didnt question her, only stand back and watch as her episode unfolded. It was only a matter of minutes before she finally killed it, and then stood up, turning around to see her friend standing there. "Everything okay in there? I hear the gunshots, didnt wanna abandon the rest of the walkers out here though." Dani almost shook off the blood on her knuckles like it was just another day for her, but Rabbit left it at that, and replied onto a more serious matter other than Dani being Dani. "Sh*ts cool. Weve seen this before, havent we? Those gunshots, every single one of them, gets their attention. They build up, like a snowball, and before its too late theres already too many."
The bodies on the ground were a symbol of their triumpth though, they won the battle. Only reason was the experience, the know how. With the threat gone now, they had to be more careful about anymore gunshots if they were going to stick it out for a couple more days. At the same time, Rabbit knew the RV was headed this way, and would probably show up sometime in the next hour. It would be for the better, no matter Annas reaction. It wasnt like they were going to ransack her home, his people werent like that. There was a line between paranoia, safety, and trust. You had to find the balance between them all in order to survive. Throwing Anna into this situation would force the balance, whether she liked it or not. People survive by banding together, making everything work for themselves, and things easier for others.
"You should go back inside, ill gather up the bodies as best I can, itll give me something to do while im watching to see if anymore walkers show up. Wouldnt be surprised if this wasnt the end, but there couldnt be too much more. Just go inside and see if Anna needs anything, and tell her to keep the firearms down for the day" Dani didnt say anything, just go inside, agreeing with Rabbit. Something told her that Anna already knew what happened, and why it happened, putting blame doesnt make things right. Avoiding another mistake is always best, everybody knew that at this point.
Inside, Dani walked around, feeling a bit out of place. She wasnt used to being inside of a house. The only thing that felt normal was the smell of the dead outside, and it kicked her into the world they all knew and were adjusted to now. "Hey Anna?" Without really knowing what to say, Dani spoke out. It wasnt like she had much conversation experience with other females since the outbreak, Anna would be the first, and somehow it felt right talking to her. "What did you do after the incident?" She asked this question from one survivor to the next, and kept it vague enough for her to explain however she wanted. A little chatter among the both of them would strengthen the trust, no doubt, and it would be nice to just talk.

Anna had been on her way downstairs with Jimmy close behind when Dani walked in, her fists battered and covered in blood. She'd sighed and shook her head, thinking about how much of a liability this woman was to her, her family and possibly her own group. Of course, considering what she's heard of them, they were all walking liabilities and she couldn't help but hope that these four days would go by quickly. Dani had been wandering around in her living room before asking her what she had done after the incident.
Anna shrugged a little and assumed she'd met Raccoon City. She'd thought about it a little bit before plopping herself down into the recliner, Jimmy seating himself on the bigger couch, quietly.
"I escaped with my son, cousin and her husband. We had to walk almost ten miles out to find a small diner inbetween cities. I called my dad and he came to get us within the next four hours of sitting there, trying to collect ourselves. After that..." she'd trailed off, hanging her head.
The living room flashed and she was back in the streets again, in the passenger side of a squad car. Something slammed onto the top of their roof and clawed it's way through, slicing into the driver's crown. The car screeched and skidded off the road, crashing into another car and rolling over it into a grocer store window.

Jimmy watched his mother go, obviously concerned. He'd looked back at Dani and felt himself more at ease.
