Artemis nodded for a moment before heading toward the set of doors that would take them to the moonpool. "Well that works in our favor." She reached over and tapped the top of the key pad for a moment before typing in a set of codes. The first three didn't work, but the third finally opened the door. "No USS to worry about, only the dead and what ever Kyle has turned into." She turned and looked back at Wolfe as she stood up. "This corrador takes you straight to the moon pool. It will split off into two paths halfway down, but they just go around a lab and meet back up."
"I though you said you've never been this far?" one of the soliders asked.
"I haven't, but I never said I wasn't really good at memorazation," she pointed out as she stepped down into the hallway. "Kyle was particular for his right hand personell to be able to memorize things at a single glance."
"That would come in handy."
"It does." Artemint moved down the hallway. Glass walls filled both sides on the left was a lab filled with a clouded water, and on the right was another lab with bodies laying on the floor. She stopped for a moment to observe the bodies that didn't move. They had the obvious set in of rot from the virus, but they didn't move. Nothing seemed to have peeked their sences to wake them up at the moment. The fresh scent of the living didn't seem to reach to the room. She continued down the hallway passing another two labs before they circled around the solid wall lab in the center. Then came the door that would lead them to Kyle. She leaned up to look at the port whole in order to find out where Kyle was, but there was a problem. "Wolfe," she said as she looked back. "Kyle's not in there, and the moon pool's open."

Rebecca moved to the door, and peered through the porthole. she could see the broken bodies of the dead USS hit squads. But no kyle. she glanced up and the pressure indicator above the door. green, which indicated it was safe.
Joanna had made all of them swollow a N-67D anti-nitrogen blood-pressure capsule when they were still on the osprey. it was a pill designed for military deep dive missions, it prevented decompression sickness. which meant if something happened, they could ascend or descend quickly, without fear of death or sickness.
'Still,' Rebecca thought as she opened the door, 'better to be carefull.'
as the door swung open, Rebecca sniffed the air. the room was saturated with the smell of blood and death, a disgusting but familiar smell of rot, p*ss, sh*t and copper. as she nealt by several of the corpses she heard the others step into the room behind her, but all her attention was on the bodies in front of her. they had fallen face first towards the pool, directly opposite from the only door to the labs. the wounds were horrible but then so were many wounds from BOWs. but these corpses were different from the others. all the others were facing the door. whats more the entry wounds were different. these ones were on their backs.
"Everyone out now!" she shouted, spinning around just in time to see the monster kyle had become materialise out of thin air. right behind Artemis.

After following the last of the soldiers into the room she could see a lot better the carnage that Kyle had left, but it somehow all seemed wrong. It was quite possible that Kyle had adapted to this depth that would be making more sense on why he would take off to these labs. It would be easier to hide from Umbrella or anyone else, and if the lab was destroyed he could still survive at the depths. Though that wasn’t what bothered her. A group of soldiers had died face forward as if they never even gotten a chance to fight for their lives, and from the look on Wolfe’s face she was speculating the same. An in the mer seconds it took them to realize that and for Wolfe to order the retreat it was too late.
Artemis didn’t have the chance to even turn around before a large claw gripped the back of her neck and lifted her off her feet. As Kyle materialized behind them his fully grown form standing at least two feet taller than the tallest soldier in the group. His muscular body seemingly disproportioned even with his massive arms, and it didn’t stop there. As the soldiers retreated toward Wolfe they held their fire which in a way made Artemis feel a bit comforted that they didn’t want to shoot her, but also the fact that they put their lives in danger just because of her. She kicked and struggled to break free, and as Kyle turned her to face him and what she suspected as grin cross his face. She couldn’t help but laugh a bit. With her UMP in hand she brought it up and emptied the clip into his chest. Kyle dropped her and stumbled back shaking off the rounds like they were nothing. Before Artemis could move he back handed her into the open moon pool. As the soldiers moved to open fire a large tentacle materialized and struck them knocking them back into the wall.
Artemis struggled as she hit the water. Her hand wrapping around what appeared to be a holding bar for divers waiting to enter the moon pool. She was already fighting to get air the moment she hit the water, but the strike from Kyle made it hard and then to add to that below freezing water didn’t help. She shook her head trying to gather what thoughts the cold didn’t take away. Pulling herself up on the bar to be able to stand on it. From here if she pushed off it wasn’t that far from the edge of the pool, but with the tightening of her chest she couldn’t stand here and think about it too long. Then there was light, a little too close for comfort. As she turned around all she seen were teeth, and the moment she had one reflex and that was to bring her arm up. As the creature struck her it bit down onto her arm, but the razor sharp teeth not being able to pierce her armor.
She struggled for her hidden dagger as much as she struggled to hold onto what little oxygen she had left. As she continued to struggle with the hidden blade she was surprised to find the creature let her go, and then it started to spasm. The body twists and turned before it finally stopped and the light on its antenna deem before going out. Artemis struggled for a moment but knowing it was futile she couldn’t swim, and even if she could she had no energy left. Though her eyes lit up the moment she saw Joanna swim under the creature and toward her. Another rebreather, but smaller than the original she had on her head. She couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Wolfe being right, she guessed that Wolfe would know more about Joanna then she ever would. As Joanna wrapped her arms around her she felt the darkness engulf her as she made her way back to the moon pool. As they broke the surface it was obvious that Artemis was breath, but not conscious.

As Joanna breached the surface of the moon pool, she checked on Artemis beside her. She was breathing, but not conscious. She looked around the room to see the battle raging. Though Wolfe and the soldiers were trying to avoid the tentacles whipping at them, none of them were firing their guns. Then she saw all the bullet holes in the walls, and the spent brass next to what looked like the remains of a USS taskforce. 'He must have bulletproof skin' She then saw a curious blade next to one of the USS corpses. It was a machete in the form a naval cutlass with a trench knife like handle. And it had black blood on its blade. The corpses were covered in red. And wolfe had just stepped next to it.
"Wolfe! Use the sword at your feet!"
Rebecca smiled at Joanna's voice, she knew she was alive. As she grabbed the sword machete by her foot she was grabbed by one of kyles tentacles. Instictively, she hacked at the tentacle. The blade swept through it, the now seperated tentacle falling off her, unmoving. Kyle roared in pain. Wolfe grinned. She liked the machete.
"Joanna, same gameplay as last time!" "Roger, cut that f**ker open!"
An instant of pain, and the world revealed itself to her. She dodged another tentacle, stepping over it as she started towards kyle. 5 steps later, and she was inside his reach. She started slicing up his chest as she easily dodged his clumsy blows. Joanna pushed Artemis up out of the water, before getting herself out. As she swung her rifle up she reached for a bangalore blade grenade and loaded it into her grenade launcher. Just as she was about to fire however, kyle roared and started moving away from wolfe. Towards them. She grabbed Artemis and flung both of them to to the side, just as kyle shot past them, into the moon pool. Quickly she brought up her rifle and sighted the rents in his chest, and squeezed the trigger. She saw the barbed grenade rocket through the air between them and tear into the monsters chest, just before kyle was suddenly wrenched beneath the water by something, probably one of those toothy eel BOWs.
Quickly, Joanna knelt beside Artemis, who was starting to stir. Joanna smiled, just as Artemis opened her eyes. "Hey sleeping beauty, time to wake up."

Artemis stirred for a moment before opening her eyes to the blinding light of the moon pool, and then quickly shut them. Her head was pounding and it hurt to breath even though she was not holding her breath anymore. Joanna's voice sounded pleasent after thinking she had died, but she couldn't have been more wrong. It seemed that Joanna was full of surprises, and a lot more skilled than she had given her credit for. Still she was greatful for her to be here and alive mostly because she didn't know if she could handle the stress without her here. It seemed weared to think that after all these years alone, but Joanna seemed to fit somewhere and she enjoyed the idea of her company. Artemis opened her eyes again, and with Joanna's help she was able to sit up, but as soon as she did the very bad urge to vomit quickly swept over her. She gagged for a moment before coughing heavily. She rubbed her chest for a moment in hopes that it would settle her burning lungs, but it didn't help. "Perfect," she mumbled before looking at Joanna.
"You seem pretty lively for a dead person," she commented. Her smile made her node in return. "Thanks for the save, but you didn't have to bring your ele friend with you either."
She looked around the room at the carnage, and now there was a lot more black blood everywhere than she had realized earlier. It seemed that while she was out of it they had managed to get rid of Kyle for the time being. Though it didn't seem to last to long. The alarme in the facility went off with the red lights flashing. Echoing through the facility were the sounds of doors opening and closing. A large amount of water washed through the doorway that lead into the hallway, and was more obvious that some if not all of the rooms that were once under water were no longer. With Joanna's help Artemis climbed to her feet and took up her weapon that she had lost when she was hit into the water. The rounds did nothing with Kyle but what ever was in store she hoped wasn't bullet proof either. There was a crackle over the moon pool speaker before Kyle came over it. "My little caged mice, trapped in a maze with no cheese at the end to sniff out."
"What do you want?" Artemis barked.
"To see how you fair against my pets. Some like to cheet and not die when there given the chance. Other's want to cheet and use sharp objects. Now I must heal before I can rightfully deal with you, but until then I left you some toys to play with until the time is right."
"How did he get back into the facility. I thought he was out in the ocean," one of the soldiers mused as they readied themselves for another battle.
"This is Umbrella we are talking about. Pluse I would probably say about the same way Joanna ended up out in the ocean," she pointed out as she moved to the door. "He has to be in the communication room, but I highly doubt we'll have a direct path back to him. He's probably set it up to where we take the long way around the facility," she pointed out as she leaned up against the door frame. She expirenced something she never expected to in her life time. She wasn't afraid of dying in fact if it came she would welcome it with open arms. Yet this would be the first time in her entire life that she would regret leaving behind people. She was scared and she didn't like this feeling. She could pass it off and brush the feeling off, but in the end it was still there. In the end as she leaned up against the door frame she felt tired and weak her body felt like it was struggling, and she didn't like this feeling.

"We better get started. No telling whats gonna come at us so lets go carefully." Joanna grinned, "we wounded him and he ran away, the coward. Now all we have to do is break his toys and take him down." The soldiers nodded confirmations, all grinning. Wolfe was also grinning, "remember boys, we gotta be carefull when breaking his toys, we dont want to leave him anything to play with." That got some laughs. Joanna spied Artemis leaning on the doorway and went over, putting a hand on her shoulder. As she was about to say something she saw the fatigue and fear in Artemis's eyes. She did not know the reason for the fear but based on her profile and her own experience with her, it wasnt fear of death. She smiled warmly, "your doing well, they may not say it now but the boys are impressed with you, and so am I." A sudden recklessness took hold of her, and she grinned. "That deserves some form of reward." As she leaned forward she saw Artemis' s eyes widened, before she kissed her forehead. "If you continue to do well, I might just have to give you an even bigger reward." She said, grinning mischievously as she watched Artemis blush. She turned toward the soldiers, "okay boys and girls, lets move out."

Artemis was taken by surprise when Joanna kissed her on the forhead. She was never expecting it from her or from anyone. She quickly turned away as she felt her face redning from embaresment, but it also felt night to be achknowledged for something. She smiled lightly and readied her weapon as the group gathered themselves to leave the moonpool. At that moment she had never been so glade to leave the water, and she knew she would be even more greatful once they were back on the surface. One of the soldiers took point as another watched the rear of the group. The water from the labs had cause the water in the walkway to raise up ankle deep which didn't help with her already freezing body, and she knew that if she was this cold Joanna was too. But they had a mission to complete and a little frost bite wasn't going to stop her from getting her hands on Kyle. As they moved around a different path in the labs they crossed in front of a soldie window that allowed them to look out into the ocean. An ele similar to the one that attacked Joanna and Artemis was simming around, several sharks were circling the bottom but on closer inspection they didn't look like normal sharks. There fins looked sharp almost like they could cut something, but without further inspecition they wouldn't be able to tell what else was wrong.
"Look," Artemis pointe out to an outstretched part of the lab. Some of it was caved in an long weeds of some sort had grown out of the wholes and wrapped itself around the lab. "That's where this path is taking us," she pointed out as she looked back at Joanna. "That's where they were suppose to test the virus on plant life to see how it reacted." She watched as one of the eles swam close to the weeds and they lashed out wrapping around the struggling ele before it stopped moving. The weed drew the body of the ele back in to the rest. "That area is lare and open there are only three small labs against the wall, but we have to cross the entire path to reach the exite that Kyle has entended for us," she pointed out. "Or everyone could breave the water and swim around it. There's should be an access hatch close to here, and if we stay out of the reach of the weed we should be able to access the hatch on the other walkway," she pointed out.

"you and i both know that going into open water is a bad idea around here. those eels are bad news and so would those sharks." when Joanna looked out the window more closely, a dark shape suddenly went past the window. everyone heard the crack that followed, and saw water start to come through the thin line that wasnt there before. "MOVE!!!!" everyone started a mad dash towards the end of the passage, and safety for the moment. the passageway groaned as the outside pressure began to slowly crush it, making everyone move faster than before.
Rebecca was first to the end, quickly unsealing the door and opening it, ushering everyone else through, before going through herself. as soon as she had closed and sealed the door, everyone heard an almighty crunch. they had only just made it.
as everyone caught their breath, they thought on what had just occured. one of the soldiers started talking. "that must have been one of the shark BOWs, that glass is extremely hard to even scratch let alone cut through." "Then we go through the rooms." Joanna said, straightening up. "we dont know if they emit poison or anything so everyone get full face gasmasks and hoods on. around half a minute later everyone was standing straight, with full face gasmask and hood on. "Okay," joanna started, pulling out one of her phosphorus grenades, "We don't know anything about these plants but we all know that anything organic is somewhat vulnerable to fire. so we go in there with our eyes peeled, and if anything happens, we dous the whole place with white phosphorous."

Artemis eyed the door as Wolfe had closed it, and absently followed Joanna's orders as she put her own mask on. She echoing sound of crunching steel and rushing water seemed to bother her more than it did before. She had been in a similar situation with crushing walls of water around her, but it never bothered her. She went about her task of eleminating the workers within the building and made her way out without a problem. She knew death was there just like it was here, but she was scared and she didn't like it. Shaking her head in attempts to get her thoughts back she turned away from the door and edged closer to the plant life on her left. She knelt down at arms reach of the rose bush, beautiful as it was it was also deadly. The closer she watched it the more she realized the bush was alive in more ways than one. She reached out grabbing one of the stems and in turn watched another stem start wrapping around her arm. She couldn't feel the thorns, but she could see them breaking against her armor as if attempting to cut her. What else she seen was disturbing. Instead of the clear fluide broken plants emmited this was dripping with a dark green fluid.
"Joanna," She called back as she looked over her shoulder. "Take a look at this." She raised her arm as the stem continued it's freviouls attempt in cutting her armor. "I think we have to worried about being cut too. This sap isn't sap. For this plant to be alive and moving like this it has to be riddled with the virus." She removed her M-9 and cut through the stem, and as she did so the plant seemed to scream in pain. Artemis stepped back a bit surprised at it. She removed the stem wrapped around her arms and it continued to flail about in the air for several seconds before finally laying still. "That's something else. The parts of the plant cut off don't just die right off the bad." She looked at Joanna again. "So direct rout or think we should try lab jumping? There are three in here, and the last one is close to the door."

Joanna was about to reply when she saw several plants and vines moved to block the direct path. "phosphorus out!" she yelled as she pulled the pin. throwing it, everyone but Artemis took a few steps back. this was the first time the grenades had been field tested. the grenade landed on the walkway on the direct path just before it was completely swallowed by the viral plant-life.
2 seconds later, it detonated.
a sudden firestorm erupted from the now dying plants, spot fires blazing to life everywhere a particle of phosphorus fell. the screams of the burning plants was almost unbearable, almost human in its obvious agony. unfortunately, one of the dying plants flailing 'limbs' busted the direct walkway.
Joanna watched for a few seconds after the walkway collapsed before heading towards the small labs on the outskirts of the large area.

Artemis watched as the fire died out and the plants within the close area withered up as the screaming stopped. She looked up at Joanna started making her way toward one of the labs. It would probably be a good idea to see if there was any antivirus in this area. She was pretty sure that they would considering the scientist had to work within close proximity of the plants. Then again they could have had armor like she did. It was Kyle that had told her the creation of her armor did come from this lab, but even if they did have clothing able to resist the plants sharp thorns it would still probably be safer to have it on hand in case anything went wrong. She shook her head and followed the group to the lab. After a few minutes she found that their level had elevated and they were now walking on a metal catwalk. She looked back from the way they came noticing that their path didn't change but the ground below them went further down. In fact it looked like there was water below them. Artemis paused as she looked over the railing noticing in fact it was the ocean water below them, and it looked like it was filtered in and out into the ocean. "Great," she groaned as she stepped away from the railing to follow the others. A few steps later and the catwalk started shaking. Below them the plants seemed to wrap around the bottom of the platform trying to pull it away from the wall.
"Get to the lab!" She shouted, but as she followed the soldiers a vine broke through the bottom of the catwalk in front of her and another solder. Artemis reached forward gripping the solder's vest, and jerked him backwards putting herself infront of him. As she did this the vine seemed to split in half one going after the group in front and the other wrapping around her waist. As the vine pulled her forward she felt the soldier grap her hand. She shifted to get a better grip of his hand with both of hers as he used his other hand to grab the railing. On the other side the other vine wrapped around Wolfe's leg and pulled her off her feet as the other soldiers tried to break her free. The catwalk shook violently causing everyone to stumble. As their grips loosened the plant pulled both Artemis and Wolfe through it's whole and toward the water below. Artemis reached for her M-9 again and took a hard swing at the vine. As she nicked it the plant screamed in pain, and dropped both of them. She gashed as she realized that she was falling straight for the water. The moment of impact was a shock to her system, but she was surprised at how fact the bottom came up. Infact when she gathered herself enough to actually stand up the water was only chest high. Still knowing her head was above water wasn't comforting this time around. She could feel the could chill of fear wanting to make it's way through her body. Fear that she knew if she allowed it to take ahold of her would paralize her. She had to fight it, and the splash behind her helped a bit. She turned around to see Wolfe standing up. As she took a step she found that it was hard than she thought. The ground below them was the ocean floor and it had suction to it when you moved.
"We need to . . ." she paused at the weird sound she heard, but it wasn't from anything around them. The strang sound was coming from her. The fear in her voice only scared her even more, and she knew her eyes also the fear. She just had to get out of the water and she would be fine. "We need to move."

Even before artemis turned around to face her, rebecca knew that she was terrified. It was one of the more interesting aspects of her mutation that allowed her to smell the emotions of other people. Usually she could only do this if she was in her burn stage, but when people were almost overwhelmed by a certain emotion, like fear, she could smell it even when out of the burn stage. She had later learned that it wasnt actually smelling emotions, but rather different hormones and chemicals being released from the endocrine system.
She moved closer to artemis, "yeah, we do, but I also need you to not freeze from the water." She smiled gently. "Here's a tip, try picturing something right in front of you, just out of arms reach. Something, anything, that makes you happy."
((OOC: sorry about the delay, couldnt think of anything))

Wolfe’s idea was pretty good, but for some reason the first happy thought that came to mind wasn’t her sister and the fact that she was safe. In fact it was Joanna, and that surprised her. She looked up through the towering plant life. Joanna shouldn’t have been her first thought, and maybe not her sister either. She had good memories once she was with her father even if they were all manipulated. She shook her head as she looked at Wolfe and nodded. No one needed to know that. Artemis followed beside Wolfe slowly as they moved forward the water seemed to keep rising, and it seemed to get harder to breath but she knew it was just her. She finally had to stop. The water was now at her shoulders, and even though her head was still above the water it didn’t help. She couldn’t take it anymore. The fear was actually starting to make her sick and the freezing water wasn’t helping a bit either.
Nor did the large splash in front of them. Something seemed to have hit the water in front of them, but she knew even though her semi freaking out state that she didn’t even see anything hit the water in front of them. The water rippled violently in front of them and then seemed to settle down. Artemis reached for her weapon reading it for whatever was in front of them. Though a couple of things played a problem with that, one being that when she raised the weapon to fire above water she wouldn’t have an accurate shot, and the other was her shaking wouldn’t help the fact either. She took a deep breath in attempt to calm herself, but who was she kidding as long as she was standing in the water it was hard to concentrate and the water freezing wasn’t helping either.
She felt something wrap around her leg, and the next thing she knew she felt the cold rush of water hitting her face. Granted the mask had kept it from striking her face for all of two seconds before it was ripped off her face from the force of the water. When she was pulled out of the water she was brought face to face with someone she really didn’t want to see at this moment. Artemis reached for her gun only to have it pulled out of her grips by another vine. She growled slightly as she attempted to reach for her gun only to find it useless.
“Struggling is useless, and as you found out earlier guns don’t work on me anywise,” Kyle pointed out as he stepped back in order to let the vine drop Artemis on the ground in front of him. “To think if you would have just died back in Washington we could have avoided this a long time ago.”
Artemis stood up drawing her M-9 from its sheath. “How long?” she growled as she shifted her stance. She knew that guns couldn’t work on him, but she was semi aware of the conversation between the soldiers on their walk about blades hurting him. One thing did puzzle her though. He would have been hurt pretty bad to run away from them, but to return now would only indicate his ability to heal was fast or he was just showing off because he was in his human form. “How long have you been like this?”
“For far too long. Only a few of us had the ability to shift between our forms.”
“How many?”
“Thirty two to start with, but in the end eleven an as of today ten. We all started off here in this lab,” he said as he waved his arm around the room. “I had to get rid of the eleventh one. He betrayed us.” Kyle smiled as he looked at Artemis. “I think you knew him quite well . . . called him father if I am correct.”
Artemis tightened her grip around the hilt of her weapon as she glared at Kyle. “Information that will be put to good use by the BSAA,” she growled.
“Maybe so, but if you can’t defeat the rest of us. Not all of us have the same weakness, and I can reach further than your little friends and their blades.” He looked across the open filed toward the direction of Joanna and the rest of the group, and then down to where Wolfe was making her way through the plants. “That one down there is my only challenge,” he pointed out. “Not much information as for her mutation within Umbrella. Someone did really good at covering that up, but . . . “ he grinned as he looked back to her. “You seemed to have taken a liking toward another . . . I think . . . yes. I think that one I will let you watch fall first.”
“Enough!” she barked as she moved forward. A stupid mistake she knew that, but something set her off. Something else she had never felt before. These new range of emotions were confusing, and this one just put her in a really bad position.
As she brought the blade forward Kyle caught her forearm as he shifted and slammed her into the wall. His free hand wrapped around her neck in order to slow her struggling. “Your so confused with all these new emotions. Being around these people is making you weak. I can see it in your eyes. “ He grinned as he looked at the blade in her hand. “Your armor has made you a tank. It has allowed to withstand bullets, blades, explosions, and so much more. It has allowed you to live up the title of Reaper. Remember your armor was built here.” As Kyle spoke Artemis felt a sharp pain in her side. He pulled her away from the wall and as he did the pain just grew worse until she cried out. As Kyle let go of her she collapsed to the ground gripping her side in attempt to stop the bleeding. When she looked up she noticed a scaled tail with a sharp point covered in blood protruding from Kyle’s back. “You see. I know the weakness of your armor.” He smiled as he turned and jumped up on the railing. “Now to get rid of that creature, and maybe you won’t bleed to death before I can get ahold of your other friend.” Kyle jumped toward the ground below and as he did his body began to shift into the same creature as before.

when artemis cried out in pain, everyone jerked around, and saw kyle with a bloody stinger, and artemis holding her side. Joanna was shocked, ice went down her spine. as kyle leaped from the railing towards Wolfe, she spun the the soldiers. "Get moving! establish a beachhead on the far side and wait for us!" As one, the soldiers moved, glancing at artemis, but Joanna didnt see that, she was already reaching for her grappling gun. she moved as she shot the grappling hook at a pipe on the ceiling, and swung across the open room. landing on the platform, she quickly went over to artemis, who was very pale, the pool of blood beneath her showing how much she was bleeding out. she held her head, forcing artemis to look at her, "Stay with me, your gonna be alright." she took artemis's hand away from the wound. it was bad, kyle had punctured alot of capillaries and the sheer size of the wound was causing massive blood-loss. the only way to possibly save her was to cauterize the wound, and she didnt have any cauterizing equipment. thinking quickly, she took her rifle and switched the 30 round magazine for a 100 round double drum mag, and started blazing away. as soon as the last bullet left the gun she started stripping the rifle, taking out the bolt. it was so hot she could barely hold it, biting her lip to ignore the pain in her hand. she shoved her free hand into artemis's open mouth, and started her treatment. artemis instantly stiffened, screaming around joanna's hand as she bit into it from the pain. despite the pain in both her hands she continued, cauterising the edges of the entire wound, luckily it looked like kyle hadn't punctured any organs.
what she had to be careful about was the bleeding, the hole in artemis's side and her going into shock.
As this was happening, rebecca was dodging and cutting everything that kyle sent against her, more annoyingly he had 'cloaked' himself so she was fighting almost entirely on instinct. she wasnt using her burn, she was getting closer to exhaustion everytime she used it, and judging by the mission so far, it was gonna be awhile before it ended. without her burn she was struggling, but she had yet to be hit. even without her burn, her strength, speed and senses were well above the norm. she wasn't doing much damage to him, but she was nicking him, which seemed to enrage him. he was getting sloppy. "I cant believe you killed an entire USS hit-squad, they must have just been UBCS in disguise because your f**king pathetic!" a roar and he suddenly appeared. a huge mistake. she activated her burn. he swung at her with what looked to be his right arm. she stepped inside his reach and hacked through it. he screamed, trying to back away towards the darker patch of water. she grabbed one of her phosphorus grenades, and quickly removed the pin. stepping in she stabbed kyle in the gut, quickly removed the sabre and shoved her hand with the grenade inside and let go before removing her hand. quickly getting back and turning off her burn, she watched the detonation. like the plants above, kyle erupted in phosphorus fueled white hot fire, and his screams lifted the hair on her neck as he retreated through the darker patch of water.
looking around she saw a ladder that took her to the platform with joanna and artemis, reaching them as joanna was wrapping a bandage around artemis's exposed side. she had taken her chest-piece armor off after she had completely cauterised the wound. joanna's never left artemis, "is the bastard dead?" "probably not, though he's missing an arm and his guts like a barbeque at the moment." joanna nodded, her eyes still on artemis.

Artemis couldn’t help but curse herself inwardly about her stupid mistake that had put her in this situation. As she felt the blood dripping through her fingers she fought to stay conscious, but she could feel that it was a losing battle. Pain she could deal with. If she could only get to her feet she could deal with this, but her body didn’t want to move. It just wanted her to lie down. In fact the pain almost seemed to go away the more her body was growing tired. Then there were gentle hands where embracing her face, and then she heard Joanna. But that was impossible Joanna was on the other side of the room. She didn’t open her eyes until she heard the gun fire. When she looked up she was still surprised to find that Joanna was right there, and then there were two more emotions that she hadn’t felt before. One wasn’t much of an emotion as it was more of a want. As Joanna stuck the hot barrel of the weapon into her wound she screamed out, and bit down on her hand. She could feel the coppery taste of blood in her mouth, and knew she had cut the blood on Joanna’s hand. As the pain seemed to grow so did her want to remain by Joanna’s side. She couldn’t understand it, she was supposed to be a loner, and she wasn’t supposed to want to be by someone. An as she felt herself pass out she couldn’t help but want to wake up to see Joanna once more.
Words brought her back from her unwanted slumber. For a moment she struggled to open her eyes, but when she did she was relieved to see that Joanna was still by her side. She smiled lightly as she closed her eyes again, and to prepare herself. The pain had greatly eased up, but she knew they couldn’t stay here forever. She opened her eyes again and looked up at Joanna. For some strange reason this woman had woke up so many emotions that she didn’t know about, and they were so confusing to her. It was hard to comprehend them all in such a short time, and she was never fully able to understand one before another hit. Except one, rage. The moment that Kyle had mentioned Joanna she lost it, and made a major mistake that had put her in this situation. As she looked at Joanna she couldn’t understand how one person could do all this. She brought her hand up to cover her eyes, and let out a heavy sigh. She had to move, but her body didn’t want to.
“Help . . . help me up,” she said as she reached for Joanna’s arm. That’s when she seen it. The burn marks on her hand from when she was holding the barrel of the gun. At that moment she didn’t need help sitting up. She sat herself up and reached for Joanna’s hand only to regret her actions. She fell straight into her arms, and though it somehow felt warm and wanted she was more attentive to Joanna’s hand. Then there was another emotion that she hadn’t felt before and mostly because no one ever done anything like this before. Joanna had hurt herself in order to save her, and she knew she wasn’t anything worth saving but Joanna did it anywise.
Before she could say anything Joanna seemed to pass it off as she and Wolfe helped her to her feet. At the moment she was up her knees buckled, and Joanna was holding her up once more. So many emotion, and in such a short time. They were so confusing. Some she liked, but others sent chills down her back. As she gathered herself to walk she found that at the moment she had to have help. With Joanna’s help she was able to put her chest piece back on as an extra layer of support for the bandage. She felt so weak and so tired that it was just taking everything to move even with help. An then there was the pain. Once she was up it had come back tenfold. She shook her head trying to force herself to focus on something else other than the pain. One such thought was helping the others rip Kyle apart, but one that kept coming to mind was the pain that Joanna had to have felt in order to save her.
As they moved toward the soldiers she knew she had to ask. “Why?” she asked lightly as she glanced up at Joanna. “Why would you hurt yourself to help me?” She looked down at the ground as their path way shook violently. She looked at the plants below as they thrashed about violently. Most of the once near the glass or the wall striking it hard. The glass started to spider as water started to leak in, and the walls cracked when they were hit. Behind them the platform they were just standing on collapsed as the plant life struck the wall beneath it. Artemis couldn’t help but moan at the new situation that was rising, or the fact that the water below them was rising with each new crack to the glass. She shook her head and sighed heavily. “I really hate water,” she mumbled under her breath.
