Tilting his head back, the flickering light of the flames out side dancing upon the reflective lens of his sunglasses as he took another drag from his cig, Damn, I knew she was sheltered from her dossier but considering her enviroment..., frowning faintly, as he tilted his head to listen to the woman speak, the light tremble of her voice, avoiding looking at him directly. I really hate baby sitting jobs..., grimancing, there was no way to avoid it...in truth the other scenario of letting the soldiers help lead him to the target through her was more desirable but beggars can't be choosers, and he was in this position...of course he never dreamed she would take him home, which might just allow him to see this job to a close faster than he expected after finding her. Though something at the back of his head nagged him, something that he was neglecting...it wasn't till he saw the night sky having changed from its deepest black to a more bluish cast that almost made him bite the filter of his cig in half.
Damnit, I almost forgot her skin condition..., shaking his head, as he moved to stand up straight, his muscles tightening beneath his closes as the soreness in his side made its presence known, not to mention allowing his mind to hatch onto a plan...he mustn't allow her to know how much he knew about her. It was a problem he didn't want to deal with and though he hated the idea. Letting out a soft groan, the cig falling from his lips as he placed his hands flat upon his right side, "Heh...it looks like I hurt myself...", using the heat from the fire outside to cause a few beads of sweat to form upon his fore head as he leaned back against the counter. "I-I don't think I will be able to get-get too far this night...", allowing his breathing to become a bit more heavier, appearing to the signs of someone coming down from an adrenaline high as he slide down to lean his body against the counter.
"Got any...got any ideas where we can bunk down for a bit...at least so I can rest a bit during the day...", leaning his head back as his congratulated himself, remembering that in her dossier that the woman deep down was a very compassionate person.

Elijha stiffened slightly as she thought about it. She let out a soft sigh of relief when she thought about the safe place that wasn't even to far from the store itself. "I- I know . . ." she trailed off as she climbed to her feet. She stumbled slightly as she put her hand to her forehead. Again it was still bleeding and she was finding it more of a nuisance more than anything else. She walked around the counter and looked at the man in the sunglasses. Her mind raced with questions, but she also knew that he was hurt . . . hurt helping her. She had to do something, she couldn't just leave him out here.
She hesitated on putting her hand out to help him up. Her hand hung at the side of her as she clutched it into a slight fist. Her arm tensed slightly as she tried to fight her urge to run. She finally held out her hand and helped him to his feet. "T- this way," she said as she turned to walk out the front door. She stopped and started at the sky with wide eyes. Her body trembling as she thought about the pain, but there was time . . . just enough time to get to her secondary shelter. She didn't wait to see if Marc was following her, but she did stop to pick up the bags she had dropped.
She looked back only once to make sure he was okay, before taking a short trip down a side alley behind the news building. She walked down a set of small steps just as the light from the raising sun hit the wall just above their head. She flinched slightly as she opened the door. She stopped to look back as Marc made his way down the alley. She stepped into the room and flipped on the light. She waited till Marc stepped through the door. Shutting it behind him as she turned to him. Leaning against it as she looked around the small room. "I- I don't know . . . Uh . . . there's some food in those boxes," she said nodding her head toward the boxes in the corner. "Also . . . some medical supplies, and . . . here," she said dropping the bags on the ground.
She looked around the small room, and moved to the corner that she knew the sunlight wouldn't touch when it shown through the window that was in the top corner. She pulled her knees to her chest and once more wrapped her arms around her legs. "Umm - thanks you for helping me," she spoke her words more at a whisper. "N . . . names Elijha," she said even quieter.

The problem of pretending to be hurt seriously was that if you were really hurt but not as seriously as you were pretending it was usually aggravated the real pain enough that eventually Marc wasn't faking being in pain because the slight soreness in his side had become a full blown pain. So as he followed Elijha to her second hidey hole his mind decided to take itself from the pain to instead study the woman before him. Her being wounded was something to note, and though he did find it distasteful at time, showing her some concern about her own wound would in the end endear her to him even more. In time Elijha brought him to what appeared to once have been a utility room for a building, though now stuffed with boxes that Elijha indicated contained food...which also alongside the pain in his side his stomach also decided to voice its own opinion of a certain mattered that it too had been ignored long enough. Slipping into the cramped room behind Elijha, his form moving over to one of the stacks of boxes before he himself slid down into a sitting position, one knee up as he let his other leg stretch out as he kept his right arm tight against his side.
"Elijha...", giving his voice a slightly pleased tone, an impression that he found the name interesting, "...pretty name, and a pleasure to meet you...", letting a smile slowly form on his lips before faking a soft groan to escape his lips, "..I-I was just glad to help...", letting his breathing become heavy as he reached out with his left arm to open the top of a box next to him, and despite himself he couldn't help but smirk seeing that the boxed he opened contained several cans of corn and cranberry sauce...apparently the universe wasn't ready to give upon its practical jokes. Shaking his head, as he rummaged a bit deeper to find a multi-grain bar, a bit glad of a change of diet as he picked up, using his teeth to tear open the packaging as he began eating, studying the woman behind his sunglasses.
A rabbit...wasn't too far off in how to describe this woman...though...., though it was silent in the room, it was one of those silence that he found usually came after some event of some import...well for others that is. Pale coloring due to the skin condition...pretty nice hair coloring that makes up for it....very few connections with anyone else other than a very small amount of people...hmmm...she isn't too bad looking so yets see..., seducing an asset was simply part of the job, though, he also didn't know how she react to being hit on in the future, true she most be starved for company...but...
Once again he took another bite of the bar, as he studied her a bit more...the second turning into minutes as he thought of how best to use the asset to get him to the target, "You have been living by yourself for some time haven't you.", the tone of voice not question rather making a statement, though he also allowed a tinge of respect tint his words, figuring she would be a bit more pliable if he complimented her. Tilting his head back as he swallowed another bite of the bar, "I am impressed you were able to handle that soldier so well...was your boyfriend a soldier?", though the question was a bit personal, he also allowed his voice to have a tint of uneasiness, so she would have some semblance of being able to relate...not to mention from her dossier she never had a boyfriend...well, not at the time the dossier was written but he felt it was a safe assumption.

Elijha flinched slightly as the man spoke again. She looked around the room for a moment before opening a box she had stuffed with medical supplies and drugs. She removed a few pads and then pushed the box toward Marc. She held the gauze up to her forehead in order to place a bit more pressure on her own wound hoping that it would clot up soon enough. She was just glade that her hair covered up the cut, and it was also slowing down the bleeding. She looked around the room trying to avoid looking up at Marc, and finally after a bit she gave up. His questions weren't something that bothered her, and they were nothing like that one question. At least these she knew the answer too. The other one on the other hand she was completely clueless on what they were after.
"I . . . I don't have a boyfriend . . . never did," she said with a slight quiver in her voice. She felt it a bit heart breaking that she was stuck to the darkness never going to school or even getting the chance to fall in love with anyone. It wasn't like anyone was going to fall in love with someone that they couldn't enjoy their life with. Always being stuck to the darkness not being able to have fun because you feared about cutting yourself to badly that a simple cut could kill you. She sighed a bit as she closed her eyes and laid her head on her knees. "My Keeper's boyfriend taught me. Her and him were the closest things I've ever head to parents. My own parents didn't really have anything to do with him since I was five," she said lightly.
She let out another sigh as if she had been holding her breath. She felt the few strands of tears streaming down as she thought about that night . . . their last night together. The first and last night her parents had anything to do with her. Happy days and yet they turned out to be a nightmare in the end. Fate seemed cruel to take everything and everyone away from her, and leave her alive in the end. An yet she ended up taking it upon herself to survive in this hell hold. "I still live here . . . because . . . because I don't have anywhere else to go," she said lightly. "I don't know where else to go," she spoke again feeling the catch in her throat.

Having finished his bar, and for the moment his stomach assuaged Marc noticing Elijha was busy trying to avoid looking him after he spoke took note of that and would later dwell on it later as she started speaking again, busying himself the medical supplies. Noticing his luck was improving when he found a relatively old bottle of aspirin which should at least dull the pain somewhat as he noticed her wound was still bleeding. Strange...it wasn't to deep of a cut, even accounting the pressure from a head wound..., quickly stopping himself from frowning as he realized the other ailments Elijha was afflicted with...it made what she said after about her life, the reasoning she was still here a bit more understandable. He also noted that slight quiver which made the scenario of him seducing her a more acceptable approach in attaining his target...again, and this was one of the few times he actually listened to his conscience he far more preferred other approached than seduction as he popped a couple of the aspirins into his mouth before swallowing.
He was also currently cursing himself for not studying her parents dossier or even that of this keeper's dossier more, they were included but the only important information he thought was that of Elijha herself and the target. That should teach me of not being fully prepared..., which also allowed his mind to rebuke him for forgetting to reload on the tail of that thought. Once more he returned his full attention towards Elijha, at the moment he was unsure of how to best go about talking with her, the seduction route would take a more work to pan out, so perhaps a temporary companion in this city might be more suitable...in the end she would get used to his company at least, but again he also had to deal with her ailments which reminded him why he hated baby sitting, but alas it was a necessary evil.
Leaning back, for now resting, "You have definitely lived a lonely life...I have to say I can relate to what you have said", letting a soft smile curve the corners of his lips as he added, "...I think you surviving this long where others have died is a sign...perhaps you living this long is a type of test and at the end you get something you have worked hard to gain...", keeping his tone light, realizing a bit of faith always did work well with a lot of people, "Who knows maybe me falling at that time was a sign...", despite himself his voice catched as he realized that was basically the truth, though in turn he disregarded it...it was of course a freak accident.
"Like me I was born here...raised here and when I heard what happened...I just couldn't believe it happened till I saw it for myself...", lowering his head to gaze towards Elijha, "I have faith that in time it might return to what it was when I was younger...it might be nothing other than a dream but it does keep me going." Sighing as he let himself leaned back again, a faith guide was something he played many times before, "Are you ok...your cut has been bleeding for sometime now?"

Elijha looked up at Marc when he voiced his concern about her head. She bit her lip slightly as she thought about what to tell him. She still didn't get him on why he would risk his life to help her . . . to help a perfect stranger. She let out a sigh as she pulled the gauze from her head. It was red with her blood, but finally as she touched her own head it seemed to have stopped bleeding. She looked up at Marc and tried her best to smile the best she could despite her fear. She swallowed hard before looking up at the lite that had taken half the room. She shivered as she scrunches even further into the corner.
"I . . . I'm okay," she spoke lightly as she looked timidly around the room. It was only a couple of other times that she had to stay in this room, and even those times she didn't care to much for it. "I - I can't leave here," she spoke lightly as she looked down at the ground. "I . . . I'm different," she said again looked up at him. She tried to smile at him again, but again it was a strained smile. "I . . . I can't go into the sun . . . I- I also have b- blood clotting problems," she said in more or less of a whisper. "B- but I'm okay. You don't have to stay," she said lightly.
Elijha laid down in the corner trying to press her body back against the wall as best as she could. She knew that the sun would take over half the small room. "C- can I ask you a question?" she asked lightly, but without waiting for a reply she asked anywise. "W- why did you help me? No one ever helped me before . . . especially when it would mean risking their lives."

Thanks to his sunglasses, his eyes weren't bothered by the sunlight drifting through the window, further masking his face from Elijha as he thought of how best to answer her. Due to that dossier he knew more or less the majority of facts concerning her...but again he also knew that the information was old, considerably old. From what Elijha said before as his mind meandered around with some possible reasons for him to stick his neck out, neglecting the truth of why he was here would be a bit tricky. "To be honest with you Elijha....", lowering his gaze to stare at Elijha scrunched up into a tiny ball, as far as away from the light as possible, the same light reflecting of his sunglasses, "...I really didn't mean to help you, it only kinda of happened since I was...errrmm...well truthfully I was afraid since I am just some person that happened to have some bad luck...", within his mind a small alarm sounded as he realized what he said, A bit too late to take it back...damnit it all...I must be still off from that fall...
In other words Marc came to the realization that this job would definitely cause him some grey hairs as he thought of how to rectify what might be going through Elijha's mind after hearing the term "bad luck", leaning forward slightly, not enough to startle Elijha just enough to let her think he was earnest in what he said next, "...sorry, I-I am not a very brave p-person, to be honest I j-just wanted to run away and it never occurred to me to help...", turning his head away, almost in shame of his own thoughts, "I am ashame of how weak I am...its why I wanted to run away....", inwardly he was quite satisfied that though he had some lapses his ability to act was still superb, not to mention that there was some element of truth, he was in no way a hero type of person.
"...though...I a-am glad I got a chance to meet someone like you...I-I mean...", twisting his head to stare at her, though the effect he was going for was lost due to his sunglasses, it was something he had to admit he had a very poor ability to control the look in his eyes to match his acting. Leaving his sentence unfinished, as if giving the air that he was embarrassed as inwardly he sat back assured of his own results.

Elijha looked down at the ground as he spoke. Her mind wrapping around things that he told her. She smiled weakly as she though about her own bad luck. "I know a thing or two about bad luck," she said lightly. Closing her eyes as she felt a few tears streak down her face. "I know a lot about bad luck. S- so it's probably for the best . . . if- if you left when you could. You can take anything here," she said lightly. She shivered as she felt a chili, but it wasn't for the cold air around her - it was remembering the past.
A regretful past that she could remember clearer than anything. Her 16th birthday party that her parents actually came home for . . . that they actually wanted to spend the day together. She had just received her locket, and they were on the way to the movie theater when the accident occurred. Yet in the end no one in the other vehicle was ever found, and the case was never closed. The same went with her keeper, and in the end she was left alone. People she loved and cared for, even if they didn't feel the same for her.
They were all gone, and she was all alone in the end. She sniffed slightly before wiping the tears from her face. "I'm sorry . . . I'm not very strong myself," she said lightly. She looked up at him as she tried to smile though it was weakly. "For seeming so weak you held your own out there," she said lightly. "You acted quite brave out there. Thank you for saving me even if it was an accident."

He was a bit disturbed at the results, so when Elijha stopped speaking he decided to sit back and think a bit more about what he knew of her from her dossier, it came as an annoyance that he couldn't read it right now since it seems he missed a few things or, Something happened during the outbreak... Apparently he was slowly losing his chance to find the objective, and now he was wishing he pushed her to take him directly to where her primary residence was in order for him to best conduct a search. Oh well...there was always force, as long as he could keep himself in her company, though now how to get her to agree that they should stick together, saying it outright wouldn't work, so perhaps a bit of dissembling of what she said before hand.
Leaning further back against the stacked boxes, twisting his head up slightly to peer up at the window, "Luck comes in a lot of types, and in most cases perspective as well. For instance, it might have been unlucky of me to have fallen in at that tine, but for you it was quite lucky...", leaning forward, one of his arms wrapping around his knee as he rested his chin upon that arm, "Without a doubt if I didn't happened to have fallen, you might have been hurt a lot more than you were now, perhaps worse..."
A faint smile slowly traced itself along his lips, "So in a way you aren't a stranger to good luck either...", tilting his head slightly, as he took in a glance the room she took him too, "...for my own luck, you took me to a place with food and medical supplies, something that might have taken me hours to find further risking myself in case something other than a walker came upon me...so meeting you could be viewed as bad luck but...", his smile deepening as he looked towards Elijha, "...but in case of my view point it was a very lucky chance."

Elijha looked up slightly at Marc before looking down at the ground. "Thank you," she spoke lightly before letting out a heavy sigh. "But I know I am bad luck, my family and my only two friends have in the end become a result of that." She swallowed a bit before closing her eyes. "Death seems to be the only thing that wont take me. That would be good luck to me. Everyone else seems to meet their end around me, but I always seem to live on." She let out a weak laugh before looking out at the rays of sunlight that covered the back wall.
She laid their for a moment before reaching out to the light with her bare hand. The light touching her pale skin. "Touching the light really hurt more than most people realize," she said lightly. She watched her hand for a bit until it turned a soft shade of red. She pulled her hand out of the light and held it up in the air. "I'm use to the light that much, because I do it often. Mostly when I'm lonely. I take it as a reminder that I am bad luck, because I live with this curse while everyone else dies around me. I can never be happy like this. I can never be whole because people never stay with me," she let out a heavy sigh before she closed her eyes again.
She laid her hand down gently on the ground. Though she was use to the slight bit of pain that came from touching the light she would never get use to the pain of the after effect or the stiffness that occurred in her hand. She flexed her fingers absently as looked up at Marc. "You see I'm bad luck, was from the day I was born. There's nothing I can do about it, but seclude myself from those around me. Maybe in a way of sheltering myself from the grief, I guess it's kind of shellfish of me." she explained.

In his pursuit of being one of the best, though thanks to his ego he now focuses on being the best at what he does, Marc found himself in a sticky situation. On one hand he would rather liked to finish this job with the least amount of hassle, but now he realized he would have to do far more work than he previous would have liked. Once again he found his eyes drawn to the light red flush of Elijha's hand, that was a problem that he really took into account, he was aware of her skin condition but not how serious it, In the end the only times we can travel is either through connected buildings...or at night..., leaning his head back to once again stare up at the window where the sunlight was filtering through, it was one thing to follow a person around it was a whole different thing to stay with that person as a companion. In truth splitting ways and trailing her would probably be the best option, but again he wasn't sure if she would lead him to his target without him doing some foreground manipulation himself. Lets face it he never liked the entire in the shadows that some of his profession seemed to thrive on...it lacked substance and risk that makes completing a job so thrilling.
Inwardly he was curious about Elijha's skin condition, though he read the summary of it in her file, something seemed not to match altogether entirely. The way the light effected Elijha defied some of his own knowledge of those particular skin condition, his eyes sliding towards Elijha flexing her fingers, there was something more about her that he himself was curious about as well, besides his employers should have realized the other reasons he took on jobs was to have as much fun as possible on them.
"Being alone constantly...", turning his head so it would appear to Elijha that he was staring at her, but ironically he had his eyes close behind his sunglasses, "...it is something I am use too, not because I didn't have chances...I just never really got people that well. It was kinda of me looking in on something I never really quite understood being around people.", tilting his head to the side slightly, it was true, growing up he never really understood a lot of things. Always seemed like he was watching instead of actually being part of something while he hung out with friends or family, that he was an observer even though he was right in the middle of the scene. It was something he never could understand so he kept it in the back of his mind.
"I-I don't really know why I am talking about this...maybe its because of what you said, how you felt so alone that I don't know...like I could talk about it myself...", which was a lie of course, he often used his own life in his jobs, simply because it was easier than conducting an elaborate facsimile for a back story, "Its hard being alone...when you don't seem to have the ability to change it yourself doesn't it.?"

Elijha let out a heavy sigh as she pulled her hand close to her. She wrapped it up with her other hand and closed her eyes. "I don't like to be alone, but it always seemed for the best. At least in the end I don't have a heartache, or pain that I can't get rid of. I'm tired of being hurt, and tired of crying all the time. I don't know what's worse . . . " she trailed off in thought. She pushed herself up to sit in the corner. Her eyes studying the light as she realized it was retreating more than advancing.
"Night is starting to fall," she said trying to change the subject. "It seems that you've made the time go buy a lot quicker than just sitting here alone," she smiled lightly at him. Elijha looked around the room at the boxes that lined the wall and thought for a moment. "There is a backpack in one of these boxes. You can use that to pack the food in. You are welcome to anything in here," she said. Still she held her hand close to her body, and closed her eyes. Her hand throbbed slightly, but she pushed the thought away. "U . . . uh . . . I - I have a . . ." she trailed off in thought.
She really didn't know this man, but he had saved her life weather it was an accident or not. She felt obligated to offer him a place to sleep for the night, and actual bed. Yet she was still scared to do that, because she didn't know him. She was almost scared of him in the same fashion. Still he had helped her, and it was only the right thing to do. "I . . . I have a place you can sleep at tonight," she said lightly. She looked around the room as if she was expecting to get slapped or something. "I have better food there . . . and a set up to cook things . . . also a way to wash cloths and . . . take a bath," she said with a whisper.

Nodding his head, secretly congratulating himself since he now had the perfect chance to complete his job, "There is something about never turning down an offer...", smiling faintly towards Elijha as he stooped down to pick up the bag, he might be laying it on a bit much but he was enjoying himself a bit with this job, "I would gladly take you up on your offer, since it has been a long time since I have last eaten a cooked meal.", getting up, though wary of the cramped confines of the room, Marc began rummaging amongst the boxes, making sure to position himself just right so he could keep an eye on Elijha as he packed away mostly non-perishable food items. A rare true smile appearing on his lips as he found an unopened box of the multi-grain bars, a rare treat and one he wouldn't be able to get access to in some time till he made it back to his employer's sanctuary.
"From what you have told me, this place is reasonably safe?", as he reached down into a box to throw a couple bottles of aspirin, some rubbing ointment into the bag, "I know us being together wont' be long, but it will be nice to have someone else to talk to with for a bit, and if it is safe it would be nice to sleep without keeping one eye open.", turning a bit to smile towards Elijha, "About luck, it seems it might have been a very lucky occurrence for me to run into you."

Elijha looked up at Marc as he started filling the bag. She looked away and to the ground waiting for the sun to disappear completly. "Yes my home is secure. It took me a while to get it that way, but it's safe," she explained as she finally stood up. She watched as the room became a slight glow of red from the setting sun. She walked over to the door and opened it slightly. Peeking out to make sure it was clear before she stepped back out into the alley. "It's not that far from here, maybe a ten minute walk," she pointed out. She made sure that he was ouside before she stepped back in and picked up a couple of bags. She made her way out and shut the door behind her securing it back in place in hopes that no one would find it like the other times before. She lead him down the street keeping her eyes to the ground. "I should have brought my coat. Then you wouldn't have had to stay in that cramped room all day," she spoke lightly. She looked around quickly before looking down at the ground again. The trip was short and quite she didn't say anything more as they made their way to her home. ------------------------------ Marc and Elijha leave for Starlight Road Residence

"Where did all this meat come from??" Lina stuttered, she walked over the heap of meat and began to explore the office. Yuu followed. !It looks like another empty room" Lina sighed. Lina paused and glimsed down at a large sack. She gave Yuuka a worried look. Lina opened the bag and looked inside. She screamed. Yuuka ran towards Lina. "What is it??" Yuuka shouted. Lina picked up the bag and pulled out weapons of torture, axes , meat cleavers and many more. "The meat.. This explains it all.. Its human."
