Rhonin laughed as he crossed his arms. "Your nuts. I told you before and I'll tell you again that with that monster around I'm not helping anyone."
Elijha grinned slightly as she walked past the group and brushed up against Rhonin hard enough that he stumbled against the shelves. "Let me take a look at these labs. With Rio still up and moving we can get a lot done," she pointed out as she went room by room. "Man this place is big. I'm seen dorm rooms which is good. We could take us a nap there. There is a control room here that shows every inch of this facility. It also shows the cabain, and the surrounding area. Wow you can see every inch of this area," she pointed out.
She made her way across the hall opening another door. "Perfict. Just the lab we were looking for," she said as she waved the group over. She entered the lab and started to look along the shelfs. Rio quickly took up looking over the second part of the lab. "Most of this equipment is simple enough. I remember it from the lab I was at. I can work with this," she looked over to Rio. "How about the chemicles you have over there?"
"Some of it's out of date, but a good amount of it is still kept in date," she said with a heavy gasp. She coughed a bit before leaning against the wall.
Elijha walked over to her and sat a hand on her shoulder. "Why don't you go ahead and sit down. I'll start on helping you. Starting with these," she said as she held up a couple of the shotgun shells that she took as well. Seeing Rio's eyes widen she smiled. "Just a few pellets knocked me out. So maybe there is something in here to help you, and Daniel," she pointed out. She smiled as she helped Rio over to a chair. She looked at Daniel and Malcom. "We need to find a place for our good Doctor here. I'm sure he doesn't want to see a monster out do him in many ways," she said with a grin.

“We wouldn’t want that.” Daniel said, grabbing the old man by the arm and forcibly ‘helping’ him to one of the dorm rooms. Opening the door and giving the good doctor a push, he snapped the door shut and moved back to the lab. He could keep an eye on the guy from the security monitors easy enough. The way things were going, he was seriously considering breaking the old prick’s knee caps if he made another move.
He got to the lab and kept an eye on the monitors, having opened the program for the cameras on one of the computers, and watched Elijha go to work on Rio. She said she was going to start on him next, but… He wasn’t sure if it was such a good idea. He didn’t have the problems she did, he seemed to be accepting it. Maybe it would be good to wait and see. And if they were still dealing with Riko and Wolfe… Well, maybe it would be a good idea to stay like he was. He didn’t even know if he was infected anymore. He hadn’t experienced anything since the Nevada Desert.
If anything, he’d have her whip it up and then he could take it later.
“What do you need us to do?” He asked the two women. They were better versed in this than he was, and he was betting better than Malcolm too. All either of them could do was follow directions.

"Maybe we could use this."
Malcom picked up a folder on one of the desks, flicking it open to find several instruction manuals binded together in it. One large collection of documents for all the lab gear. He compared the pictures to the various devices on the workbenches.
"So, this looks like the meditech automated extractor version 7...I think. We use that to get the antivirus out of the shells for starters. Then there should be a centerfuge somewhere about." He flicked through the pages. "Aaaand a syringe loader and purifier, hell, guess the old man was comfy working alone. You only need one person with all these gadgets doing the work."

Elijha looked up from the electronics on the desk and over to Malcom. "Well that's good," she said lighty as she walked over to the books. She pulled off what she needed and walked over to the desk. "Rio are you up for starting so I can familurize myself with this stuff?"
"Yeah. I wouldn't mind taking a look at those shells anywase." Rio walked over to the microscope and started to take one of them apart. She paused for a moment and then looked at Malcom and Daniel. "Why don't you two take a look around. We still have our radio's so we'll be able to keep in touch. We'll hollar if we need your help." She watched as they left, and then turned back to what she was doing.
After two hours and several breaks later. Elijha finally put up the books and rubbed the sides of her head. "That's to much information," she moaned before looking up at Rio. "Hey, how are you holding up?"
"Not so well." Rio sighed a bit as she straightened up on the chair. "I think I got you far enough. Those shells helped out a lot."
"Good. Then we should get you to bed." She walked over to Rio and helped her out of the room. Halfway down the hall the lights started to flicker, before the lights went out. "Well this doesn't help."
"Malcom and Daniel have the flash lights," Rio pointed out. She fumbled for the radio. "Malcom, Daniel. Is there any way you two can make it down to the generator room? Elijha and I are stuck in the hall with no lights."

Couple of hours of getting to know the place, remembering everything there was to know about it. Daniel could recall every detail, down to the line of dust that looked like it was leftover from an effort to sweep up all the dust that had settled to the floor. He had past through the generator room, and had already been thinking of going to check it out when the lights went out. Then, Rio had radioed them and asked them to check it out.
“Ya, we’re on the way.” He said, and then thought for a moment. He put the radio back to his mouth and hit the button. “Malcolm, head back to them, would ya?” He said. He had a feeling something was up, something with the old man or something worse. He didn’t think a facility like this would suddenly go dark for no reason, and their luck deemed someone was dicking them around.
He headed to the generator room and opened the door, having his gun out. The more he had gone down the hallways with just his flashlight lighting up the shadows, the more paranoid he got. By the time he got there, he was sweeping the corners like he was assaulting the place.
“Rio, where’s your uncle keep the fuel?” He asked. That was his first guess, that it had just run out of gas. He walked over and began taking a look at the generator, seeing if it had an actual problem.

Malcom took the opposite route through the bunker from Daniel so they could cover the layour faster, whilst everyone else worked he found several good points to memorise to find various rooms they might need, storage, exits and the like. However like the others he was shocked when the lights cut out, fumbling for his flashlight and radio.
"Old place, probably still on an old system. Best case scenario we only need to top up a gas generator. I'll go grab a can from storage."
As he put the radio back on his belt, Malcom felt a hurled bottle break across his arm, then another against the wall behind him. Rhonin revealed himself swinging a fire extinguisher and wearing a cloth mask. Mal dropped his light and drew his still sheathed sword, whatever was in the bottles wasn't corrosive thankfully, but the fumes were making him light headed as he deflected the clumsy strikes.
"A mask? Seriously old man do you think I don't recognise you?"
"It's not for hiding, it's so I don't breath in that sedative gas."
Rhonin kept up the attack as Malcom lost his coordination, eventually knocking him out with a weapon strike across the cheek. Then he got to the task of stealing the radio and flashlight.

With Malcom down and out he got himself another shot in. Kicking him in the stomach before turning on the flash light and heading off down the hall. It didn't take long before he heard Rio and Elijha talking back and forth. He kept the flash light out further than normal so that they wouldn't be able to see him until he was close enough.
"Malcom," Rio said with a sigh. "I thought you were going to be with Daniel." When he didn't answer her she felt a bit off. "Is everything okay?" Still he didn't answer her. "Malcom?"
The light went from the floor straight into Elijha's face. As she sheilded her eyes Rhonin made his move. He watched as Elijha put herself in front of Rio. He drew out his syringe and jumped for her. As she swung to block him he shifted to get behind her. He brought the needled down into her back and injected the liquid. She cried out but managed to hit him.
"Elijha!" Rio cried as she tried to catch her as she fell, but both ended up on the ground. "Elijha?" She didn't answer, but her panting worried her even more. She tried her best to see what was wrong, but the darkness was a problem.
"Up!" the voice barked as it echoed through the hall.
"Rhonin! Leave her alone!" Rio barked as she tried to push him away. Insead all she received was a powerful kick to the chest that knocked her into the wall. She cried out as she hit the ground. "Stop this!" she cried.
"Shut up!" he shouted. He reached down to Elijha and grabbed her by the shirt collar and started dragging her up the hall. "Stop struggling," he barked as he disappeared down the hall.
Rio struggled to search for the radio. Once she found it she was already screaming into the radio. "He has Elijha!" she cried out. "He has her!" she cried out again.
----------------------------
Elijha continued to strugle against Rhonin's hold, but to no luck. Her entire body felt like she alsmot had weights holding her arms and legs down. Still as he dragged her up a set of stairs and out into the snowy night air. She looked around trying to get her eyes to focus in the darkness, but quickly found out that hightened sinces were failing her greatly. "W- what did you do to me!" she gasped heavily.
"Just something to make you easy to handle." She growled slightly before she realized that they had stopped. "How is your movement?" he asked as he watched her trying to fight the poision coursing through her body. "Good. Time to take a nice icy bath." He let go of her and walked away. "The ice is pretty thick out here. Makes nice for ice skatting, but hard for killing people." He pulled out the gun he retrived off of Malcom and aimed it at the ice. "Good bye."
Firing several times at the ice around Elijha it didn't take to long before it started cracking. Elijha cried out as the ice broke and the icy water surrounded her. She tried to fight to reach the surface, but found herself quickly failing. She feared that it was her end, but the thought of her conversation with Daniel gave her a burst of energy. She fought the bitter icy water as she struggled back to the surface. As she broke the surface of the water she reached out for the ice. Fighting against it to get a grip. She managed to pull herself halfway out of the water before her body gave up. She felt herself slipping back into the water, but she couldn't move anymore.

As soon as Daniel had found the problem to the generator, the power switch simply turned to the off position, he had known something was wrong. Flipping the power back on, he began to make his way back to where the girls had said they would be when he got the call over his radio.
"He has Elijha! He has her!" Rio’s voice called out through the radio, and Daniel picked up into a run. He didn’t want to say anything back, he had a feeling whoever was doing what to them would hear. It was on this path that he slid to a stop and saw Malcolm on the ground. The gas had since dispersed into the air vents along the top of the walls. Sliding to a stop to check Malcolm for a pulse, he let out a small sigh of relief when he realized his friend was just knocked out.
“Hey, wake up!” He said, shaking Malcolm roughly for a moment. He saw the engineer start to stir on the ground, and he got back up on his path to Rio and Elijha. They were in more danger than Malcolm at the moment, it seemed.
He cleared the way to the front of the compound in less than a minute, seeing Rio on the ground. No Elijha…
“Which way?” He asked her, and when she pointed, he took off again right after dropping his gun to the ground for her to use if there was anyone else around. He ran down the hall she had indicated, going up the steps and through the cabin. Whoever it was had left all the doors open on the way. When he got outside, the pieces of the puzzle came to him as he watched Rhonin standing near a hold in the ice.
Running as quickly as he could, he jumped just about a foot from the old man and landed with a resounding thud on the man. They wrestled over the gun for a few moments, but Daniel was much stronger. He flung it across the ice toward the house, ending the struggle with a sharp crack as he slammed Rhonin’s head into the ice. The old man seemed to be unconscious, and Daniel looked around. Had he…? Yep…
“F**k.” Daniel cursed, looking at the hole for a moment. The water was clean and clear, he could see Elijha’s form slowly sinking to the bottom of the lake. Without a moment’s hesitation, he dove in.

The kick to the chest helped keep Malcom out of the drug induced stupor until he could stand again. Checking what gear he was missing he drew his sword and rushed after the old man. Without his flashlight it was easier said though, he got turned around a few times before almost bumping into Daniel, quickly they exchanged info on passing about the current situation.
"Okay, you go after him. I'll get Rio and follow you out."
He tracked his way back to the lab, finding Rio on the floor holding a radio and Daniels gun. He helped her up and gave her a quick check over for injuries. Thankfully she was okay for now, so he hurried her out after Rhonin and Elijah, finding Daniel about to dive into a lake and the old man about to run. Malcom assumed Daniel knew what he was doing and reared his arm back, taking careful aim before hurling his weapon.
"Hold up you old dingbat. I got words."
The sword caught the collar of his jacket, pinning him to a tree before he slipped out of it and continued running into the forest. Looked like he was getting away for now.

Rio was a bit behind Malcom as she exited the house to see Rhonin run off into the woods. She cursed silently as she caught up to Malcom. He stood by the lake's edge looking at the whole in the lake. "Oh no," she mumbled under her breath. She looked around to see if Rhonin was comming back, but with no sight of him her worries turned to Daniel and Elijha. "Malcom, where going to have to do something as soon as he surfaces. Even with the virus in him he's going to be struggling. Not to mention I don't know what my Uncle did to Elijha," she said as she started back to the cabin.
She turned to look back. "I'm going to try and warm up the cabin. I'm also going to pull in some of the extra clothing we have. We'll need to get them out of those wet cloths as soon as possible." With that said she jogged up to the cabin. Taking a quick look around the fire place she moved to bring in a few pieces of wood to start up a fire. With the fire going she moved to brining in a couple of clothing for Daniel and Elijha.

Daniel was a very focused man. He was in amazing shape. And he had the benefits of a viral infection on his side. But none of that did much when he hit the water. Fighting the urge of the involuntary gasp that would fill his lungs with the freezing water, he could feel his hands starting to go numb after several seconds.
One thing that didn’t happen was slowing of his mind. He seemed to think quicker than ever, and it was true. His brain was going into overdrive as a response to such a rapid change in sensation. Going deeper into the lake, trying to catch up to the sinking form of Elijha. It didn’t take long, but the temperature seemed to drop every inch deeper he went. That, or further exposure to the water was getting him. Either way, as soon as he clamped his hand onto hers, he changed course and started kicking his way to the surface.
Being naturally buoyant because of his mass, going up was much easier than going down. He soon surfaced at the hole, the only place he could see light from, and grabbed the edge. Staying under for a few moments longer, he pushed Elijha through the hole and slid her along the ice to make room for himself. Letting out the gasp he had held in for what seemed like an hour, he let himself breath for a few moments and then held his breath again. If he hyperventilated now, he’d probably pass out.
Exiting the hole with some difficulty, because of the slick water on ice handholds he had to work with, he got out and picked Elijha up. Quickly seeing how Malcolm had handled the old prick, he moved immediately to the cabin and went to the fire that Rio had going in the fireplace.
Collapsing to his knees and letting Elijha down to the floor, he fell backwards and started to breath again. Trying to control his breaths and slow his lungs down, he wasn’t having much luck.

Malcom rushed off after Rhonin, trusting Daniel to be able to handle himself for now. Pulling the sword out of the tree and recovering the discarded gun and coat with the radio still in the pocket he sprinted into the woods. Unfortunatly the old man had too much of a head start, or had found a good hiding place. Malcom checked the radio.
"Guys, I lost him, on my way back in a minute, just securing our transport."
The van and Daniels car were securly locked, the van had reinforced windows that would be difficult for him to break and the car likely had some hidden extra safety features in case someone tried to steal it. In addition, the traps set up around the cabin were still ready and well hidden. Mal got back to the cabin, throwing the coat over Elijah.
"He won't be back in a hurry, he's outmanned, unarmed and has no way of ambushing us now that we know the layout of the place. Best to get warm for now. How are you guys holding up?"

When Daniel placed Elijha on the floor she instantly curled up as tightly as she could. Her body continued to shake and her teeth chatter as she tried to get herself warm. She could feel the heat from the fire, but she couldn't feel herself getting warm. As Malcom placed the jacket over her she couldn't help but curse herself. For the first time in a long time she had never felt this weak before. She felt a larger blanket drap across her, and then Rio had sat her up. She was holding her tight and rubbing her shoulders as best as she could. At the moment she couldn't help but admire Rio. For someone being so sick at this moment she could feel her strength. Elijha laid her head on Rio's shoulder as she continued to rub her shoulders.
"Daniel you need to get into some dry cloths. Your still human after all," Rio said with a light smile. She looked toward Elijha and then to Malcom. "Rhonin did something to her. That would be the only reason he was even able to get her out here." She continued to rub her shoulders as she looked at Daniel, and then back down to Elijha. "Do you feel any different." Elijha shook her head no, but continued to stay huddle close to Rio. She sighed a bit as she shook her head. "Well we need to figure out what he did." She looked over at Daniel and sighed a bit. "You going to get out of those wet cloths, or am I going to have to get Malcom to drag you in there to change you?"

Daniel took a look at Malcolm and then back to Rio. “Uh, n…no, that’s ok…” He said with a shiver, standing up and walking into the other room for a moment. He looked around for a change of clothes, rubbing his hands over his chest to try and warm himself.
Finding another set of clothes that belonged to either him or Malcolm, they wore the same sizes, he took off the wet clothes and put the new set on. He could already feel himself warming up. Or it may have been his imagination. Either way, he went back to the main room to check on Elijha.
Walking over to the fire place, he grabbed the poker and started to stoke the fire, trying to make it bigger and get more heat off of it. And while he did that, he was closer to the heat any anyone. The feeling started to come back to his hands, and he put the poker back when he didn’t think he could get the fire any bigger.
“What’s happening?” He asked Rio, referring to Elijha.

Malcom shuddered and gave Rio a slight soft slap across the back of the head after her joke.
"No. Bad Rio."
Whilst Daniel worked with the fire he found a first aid kit and tried to give Elijah a look over, having a little difficulty the way she curled up and not wanting to bother her too much.
"I don't think we'll see much of him for a while, he's out there without any coat and I trapped the area, no way he'll get back near the cabin without catching shrapnel. All the same we stick together in the lab, I don't want to risk him sneaking in another entrance."
