Rio looked up at Daniel and Malcom before letting out a heavy sigh. "To be honest I don't know what's going on. It can't be anti-virus she would be far worse than she is now." She continued to rub Elijha's shoulders before standing up. "Keep the fire going. I'm going to help her change cloths and get her into something more warm." She helped Elijha stand up and then moved with her to the bedroom. "I'm finding this a change in our situation."
"Y- you . . . need to take the . . . the . . ." she paused as she lost her train of thought. She looked at Rio before sitting on the bed. "I'm sorry."
"I will, but it will have to be finished."
"It's . . . I think . . ."
"I'll finish it. Don't worry," she said as she helped her change cloths. "This house is the only accessable entrance to the lab. We welded the main entrance shut a long time ago. So the medicine is safe. We need to worry about you." Once Elijha was dressed she helped her back out into the living room. She sat her down on the sofa and covered her up with a blanket. "Alright. Now that you two are dry now. We got to figure out our next move. The anti-virus for me is almost complete. An if it works with me we can help you. We still need to know what he did to Elijha."
She paused as she looked at the front door. "We also need to make sure Rhonin can't get back in. This is the only entrance into the lab, and he'll try to come back. He's a very resourceful man."
Elijha tugged on Rio's arm. "I - I don't . . . feel so good."
Rio at Elijha and was a bit surprised to see blood dripping from her nose. It took her a moment to reract and then realize something. "All the drugs in that lab were out of date by several years. If Rhonin used antivirus on Elijha it could be a lot worse on her." She sat down on the sofa and pulled Elijha close to her. "We have to head back to the lab, but we need to figure out how to secure this house without having to worry about Rhonin."

“Oh damn.” Daniel said simple when he saw Elijha start to bleed. She looked like she was on the verge of passing out. He walked over to her and gently put his arms under her. Bracing his knee on the couch, he picked her up slowly and started to go to the back of the house, toward the lab entrance.
“Best defense is a live person.” He said. “Mal, stay here and wait for him.” He said. He looked to Rio for a moment. He knew she knew what he was going to say next, and her face didn’t betray any emotion about it. She probably didn’t consider him family anymore. Forget everything he had done since they got here, but the revelation he had laid on her shortly after going to the lab had to have killed any kind of relationship they had.
“Shoot to kill.” He said, coming to the stairs to the lab and descending slowly to avoid jolting Elijha around.

"No problem, been wanting to do that since I met the old git."
Having already trapped the outside, Malcom got to work sealing up the inside of the cabin, locking the door and jamming a board into the gap to prevent it from opening, rolling a couch up against it and sliding the larger pieces of furniture against the windows to prevent anyone getting a look in. Finally he tipped a table onto its side next to the cellar door as a barricade.
Scooping up Rhonins shotgun, Malcom checked around the cabin for the ammo box he'd seen when they came in, finding it and a lever action hunting rifle tucked behind a bookshelf. He made sure both were loaded and handed Rio the rifle, keeping the shotgun for himself with his SMG for guard duty.
"Kid, keep this close to Daniel, lots of long corridors down there, if anyone does sneak in you can still have the drop on them."

Rio nodded slowly and started to follow Daniel, but quickly stopped. She looked back at Malcom and then the door. "He is a very resourceful man. He will stop at nothing to get what he achives. I've come to find that out," she said with a soft sigh. Shaking her head she looked back at Malcom. "Watch yourself closely. I do not . . . and I'll stress it again. I do not want to lose anyone else to that mad man." She gave him a soft smile before chasing after Daniel.
She followed him down into the lab where they were originally working on her anti-virus. She helped him lay Elijha out on one of the beds in the room. It wasn't the most comfortable bed in the place, but it had to do. Rio needed to be close to her in order to help her. The echo of an explosion vibrated through the walls. Rio looked up and then toward Daniel as he stepped back. "You know. I think Malcom's trying to bring the woods down ontop of him," she said with a slight grin.
Rio drew blood from Elijha's arm and walked back over to the microscope. "Well on a positive note. She remains calm it shouldn't spread fast enough to do to much damage. I'll be able to get something up by day break.
---------------------------------------
The sounds of Malcom's traps being set off vibrated through the house. So many traps being set off Malcom knew that Rhonin couldn't be alone. Though what he wasn't prepared for was the front door being knocked off it's hinges. The cracked door flew across the room smacking onto the sofa before it fell to the ground. Malcom wasn't prepared or fast enough to react as Dr Wolfe moved quickly across the room. He wrapped his hand around his neck pulling him off his feet. The weapon was ripped from his hand and thrown across the room.
"I came for my daughter, and to destroy those who took her from me. Though I wont have a hand in your death, or the girls. There is someone else who wants to take that problem off my hands," he said as he looked to the door as Rhonin stepped in.
"The entrance is in the basement." Dr Wolfe nodded as he threw Malcom against the wall knocking him unconcious. He then turned and headed for the basement, and making his way into the lab. Rhonin on the other hand dragged Malcom to a chair where he tied him down tightly. "Just wait. I want Rio to watch," he mumbled to himself as he followed after Wolfe knowing that he would stop Daniel leaving Rio up for the grabs.

Daniel heard the explosion from outside, but it didn’t worry him too much. He knew Malcolm had planted more bombs than they even had materials for, somehow, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the old man wasn’t quite as slick as he thought he was. But, the door crashing open had him worried.
“Lock the door.” He said, pulling out his pistol and walking to the entrance. He looked out, and saw a pair of feet coming down the stairs. He knew right now that they didn’t belong to Malcolm, and he stepped outside and closed the door behind him.
Aiming at the figure, he waited for a moment. And just when he was able to tell who it was, he started shooting. Not that it would do much good, but it was about all he could do. And he wasn’t going to give the good doctor Wolfe the satisfaction of fear.

"Damn." Malcom woke up and started working his jaw around where he'd been punched. "Anyone get the number of that truck?"
He shook off the stunning and put everything together again. Whilst Rhonin had been careful with his knots he needed to keep his furniture in better order, it was easy for Malcom to break the back from the chair and just slip loose from his bindings. Unfortunatly the old man had taken the guns leaving Malcom with just his sword again. He followed after the two doctors back into the lab, finding Rhonin limping behind, clearly not up to following Wolfe at his full speed.
"Hey old timer." Malcom grabbed the shotgun and pulled it against Rhonins throat in a chock hold, ejecting the antivirus shells that he'd loaded. "I got a few words so you'll have to put a hold on trying that again."
He threw the old man against the wall and swung the shotgun against the back of his leg, putting out his knee and leaving him face up on the floor. Stepping around watching him squirm Malcom smashed the stock on his right wrist.
"That's the problem with living out here on your own with that kind of attitude, when you get wounded like this, noone is around to help, or wants to." He ignored the whimpers whilst he studied a few bottles on a nearby shelf, taking down a bottle of acid and removing the cork. Dripping a small amount next to Rhonins head to test it out.
"Normally I'd lay down some tripable explosives to keep you quiet, but I figure I'm going to need those for herr von ape sh*tzen, so I'll keep you here the low tech way." He balanced the bottle on Rhonins forehead before gathering the weapons and heading towards the main lab. "I suggest you keep still and hope that we win, I doubt Wolfe cares enough to help you once he gets what he needs."

Rio looked up from the micrascope when Daniel started to fire. She had locked the door like he asked, before returning to her work. Elijha had fallen asleep just a bit after they had laid her down. She had finished the anti virus for herself while she let the machine try and determin what was in Elijha's blood stream. There wasn't much left to her anti-virus left. Elijha had it pretty much done, and she just had to finish it up. There was no testing, mostly because there was no one to test it on. So she took a gamble and already injected it into her arm. She sat around for a moment, but didn't feel anything weird. She let out a sigh as she looked at the door. The gunfire had died down, and that really worried her.
------------------------------------
As Daniel's gun went dry the hall fell silent. It didn't take long before Wolfe rushed up the hall. He slammed his shoulder into Daniel before he had the chance to draw another weapon. The force of the hit knocked him back, and into the wall. Though Wolfe didn't let up he was already on the move again. Gripping Daniel by the neck he lifted him off the ground, and slammed him back into the wall. "Were is my Daughter, boy," he growled. When Daniel didn't answer he tightened his grip around his neck. "Don't mess with me boy. The virus may have enhanced you, but I can still snap you in two," he barked.
When Daniel still didn't answer he grew furious and threw him against the adjorning wall. He walked over to him as he tried to get up and grinned. "Tough one. I was a bit surprised when Riko told me that the virus bound to you rather than attempting to kill you. Still you wont live long enough to even match me." He reached down and slammed Daniel into the floor. He then stopped for a moment as he looked toward the door. "Oh I see. Lets deal with you before I deal with them." He then looked up to see a set of feet coming down the stairs. "He wont be able to survive as long as you have. Human's break so easily." He grinned as he slammed Daniel's head into the floor.
Standing up he moved to meet Malcom halfway down the hall. Slamming him into the wall. Gripping his coat he lifted him off the ground. "Lets see how many seconds it takes for me to crush every bone in your body." He reached down gripping his Malcom's right arm, and squeezed until there was a loud snapping sound. "One down, two hunders and some odd more to go. Lets knock out six of them with the neck." He reached up and gripped his neck, and started to squeeze.
Just before Malcom could pass out, Dr Wolfe was thrown down the hall. Elijha stood just a few feet past Malcom panting heavily. "Back off old man," she growled slightly as she tried to straighten herself up.
"You don't look to well." He said as he climbed to his feet. "Quite sick at the moment. Here let me help put you to bed." Wolfe rushed Elijha striking her in the stomach before shoving her down the hall. He walked past Malcom as if he was nothing, but a fly on the wall. As Elijha climbed to her feet she returned the favor, but quickly found out that her strength wasn't even anywhere near what it use to be. Dr Wolfe was quickly able to slam her against the wall, before slamming her down on the ground. He walked over placing his knee on her back holding her down. He then leaned forward and shoved her head down onto the ground. "What will you die from first. The lack of oxygen from the pressure I'm placing on your chest, or from a crushed skull?" he asked as he started pushing down harder on her head. Elijha cried out as she felt several painful snaps of her ribs breaking under the pressure. "Don't worry there's no one here to save you this time."
Rio edged her way out of the lab, and quickly moved over to Malcom as he leaned up against the wall. She was almost lost as to what to do in this situation. She couldn't see Daniel, but knew well enough that he was probably hurt as well. "Malcom," she mumbled under her breath as she tried to bring him back to reality. She tried to shake him lightly, but still couldn't get a responce from him. Reaching down she took the gun that Malcom had given her earlier and pointed it at Wolfe. "Let her go," she shouted though her voice shook. She hated using guns, in truth she feared them, but knew that she had to do something. She could fire a gun if she had to, but she couldn't stand them. She hated them, even hated the sound they made.
Still she had to do something, and another scream from Elijha made her pull the trigger. The shot went wide and struck the wall. Rio shook slightly as Wolfe stood up. He brought Elijha up with him, and held her in front of him while he turned to face Rio. His arm held Elijha tightly around the neck, and her body hung limply in front of him. "Try that again, girly. I'm pretty sure you could put your friend out of a misrable end. Just one more shot." Rio stood pettrified. Her body trimbled as she looked between Wolfe and Elijha. She really was lost as to what to do in this situation.

Through the beating that he had known was coming, Daniel forced himself to stay quiet. Through the slams into the wall and floor, he felt himself passing out. Trying to fight it as best as he could, he couldn’t shake the urge to fade into the darkness and pass out.
Lying on the ground in a varying degree of consciousness, Daniel felt the pain of the blows subsiding. He rolled to his stomach and looked at the situation at hand, trying to get up and dropping to the ground once more. Gritting his teeth and getting to his knees, he forced a leg underneath himself and got to one knee. He got the other one underneath him and watched Elijha dangle in the air. He then watched Rio’s hand shake as she held the pistol. That series of events wouldn’t end well. Reaching behind his back and pulling one of his knives out of the sheath at his back. He pulled another with his other hand and lined up a shot.
The blade sailed through the air and entered the flesh of Dr. Wolfe’s back, followed quickly by the second knife. He pulled out the third and final Kunai and ran towards the doctor. He knew he was going the way of another beating, but at the moment he wasn’t thinking about that. He was only hoping that the others could get an upper hand somehow if he kept the doctor busy long enough.

The set of knives in his back got the Doctors attention on Daniel again evidently, as he turned and grabbed him by the throat mid charge. Raising him a foot off the ground and running him into the wall.
"You think a pair of half breeds can beat me? I've mastered the power of the mutagens. The virus is just a tool for my body."
Malcom staggered up, dropping the sword since his good wrist was broken, but in his other hand he held a set of the antivirus shells, rushing over to the melee he leapt onto the doctor, wrapping his bad arm around his neck and forcing the shells into his mouth whilst he was bragging.
"Who wants snacks? You do!"
Daniel got the plan pretty quickly and drove his free hand upwards into Wolfes jaw, slamming his teeth down on the casings and giving the doctor a mouth full of the antivirus that had crippled Elijah, he started foaming at the mouth as he threw the two off of him.
"What did you do?!!" He chocked through green bile.
"Hey Rio, what are the odds his eyes fall out?" Malcom joked.

Rio lowered the gun as the anti-virus seemed to be taking quite an affect on it. The man was on his knees coughing and gagging trying to spit out the liquid. Though what looked to be a winning situation quickly turned sower. Wolfe was quickly back up on his feet slamming Malcom into the wall. "Don't think this is the end. I will enjoy ripping you and your friends apart." Gripping his shirt tightly he threw him down the hall, and made his way up the hall. He stopped short when he seen Rio pointing the gun at him again. Grinning slightly he rushed her, and just as she fire the gun he already had her hands pointed in the air. "Hasn't anyone taught you never to play with something you can handle."
"Let go!" she barked as she tried to jerk away from him, but found that he had a tight grip on her.
"Why do you keep fighting? Your brother is no more, your uncle destroyed your family, and because of you your family is gone." He grinned as he watched Rio stop struggling. "I know everything about you, because my Riko knows everything your brother once knew. Even the hatred he held toward you for being so weak. Weak enough that it caused your other brother's death. Family sacrifice is honrable, but not when the one being saved can't even save themselves to begin with." He ripped the gun from her hand and let her go. Rio hit her knees and just sat there staring at the ground. "I think your end will be best done by your own flesh's hand." He laughed as he crushed the gun and dropped it to the ground. Without a second glance back he quickly made his way out of the building.

After the punch that took Dr. Wolfe to his knees, Daniel took a step back and watched the prick choke on the anti virus that looked like it was killing him from the inside out. But, it didn’t seem to be having that big an effect on him. As quickly as the drug started to effect him, just as quickly it seemed to ware off and he was back on his feet. Daniel got a similar treatment as Malcolm, being thrown against the wall when he tried to make another attack as the doctor has his back turned. By the time he was on his feet again, Wolfe was gone.
Staggering and using the wall for support, he took a few shallow breaths and wiped away blood that leaked down the corner of his mouth and neck. Walking over to Rio, he got down to his knees again and put his hand on her shoulder. He could see the look in her eye. Right about now he could tell that she was letting what the doctor said get to her.
“Hey…” He said softly. “You really gonna listen to him? He wouldn’t know what real family was if it kicked him in the sack.” He said, looking back at Elijha. Close enough, and he still didn’t know what the meaning of the word was.
“We all could use Nurse Betty right about now.” He said, giving her a small nudge.

"Dannys right kid. Nazi jackoffs like that, all about pushing the same lie until you believe it."
Malcom helped Elijah up onto a chair then started policing up the gear that Wolfe had knocked around as best as he could with one good arm. Seemed they'd have a good amount to salvage, he was more concerned with knocking it aside and beating up on them than breaking the equipment. An extra canister of antivirus shells. If they could get to a more in date supply they could be reproduced in stronger form.
"Rhonin is disabled down the hall, I doubt Wolfe wanted him for more than directions. Probably ditched him now that he's of no more use. And if he sets off as many of my traps on the way out in his state I don't think we'll see much of him for a good while, what's the plan?"

Rio looked up at Daniel before looking down at the ground. The problem with forgetting what Wolfe said was harder than he knew. Only because he just stated everything she had been thinking all along. She looked at Daniel and the others knowing well enough she could beat herself up over it later, but at the moment they needed her help. She climbed to her feet and walked over to Elijha. "Well she's breathing, and that's just about it." She looked at Daniel and Malcom. "Lets go check on Rhonin, and then I'll deal with the two of you." As they moved back to the stairs it was quickly obvious that Rhonin was no longer there. The bottle of acid laid on the ground where it had been spilt over. "Well that isn't good," she mumbled under her breath. Jogging up the stairs she shut the door, and locked it.
Moving back down she motioned for them to head back to the lab. "Lets go deal with the two of you." She helped them move Elijha back into the lab, and onto one of the beds. "You two have a seat. Malcom I want to deal with that arm of yours before it gets worse." With Malcom set she tried to be as gentle as possible when she went to set it. The loud snap caused her to cringe. Pushing the thought aside she quickly braced his arm and wrapped it. She complete assessment of him to make sure nothing else was wrong with him. "Oh- your going to be hurting in the morning for sure, but besides your arm. I'd say sugnificant bruses." She gave him a shot of morphine. "Out of date, but painkillers tend to keep for a while. So hopefully this will help for the future."
She turned to look at Daniel. She started with a quick assessment which she realized would quickly turn into a longer one. "Lay down, and take your shirt off," she said as she started gathering a bit more items. She walked over to the bed and started to preform a more extinsive check up of his injuries. Cleaning and patching up the cuts all over his body including the heaver bleeding one on his neck. "Your going to look like a mummy when I get done with you," she laughed slightly. "Malcom can you help me for a second." With his help she was able to wrap up Daniel's chest along with several other areas. His head was a bit easer to wrap. "Well I would say stay in bed for a least a week, but we all know that's impossible. Just stay in bed as long as ****ble. You haver several broken ribs. Your right arm from what I can tell is fractures, along with your right leg. Your left leg now I can tell is broken, but with the virus in you. It wont take long before you can heal." She turned to look at Malcom before looking back. "The anti-virus is complete if you want it too."

Daniel sat on the small table that served as a bed, at least it felt like a table, and listened to Rio evaluate him. She began to list off everything that was wrong with him, and he nodded and added in an “uh huh” every few words.
“Been there, done that, I’m still here.” He said, a bit muffled by some of the medical tape that went up to his chin. Scratching an itch with his good arm, at least the one that was better off than the other, and trying to sit up. With a bit of difficulty, he finally got to his feet and looked around.
“And all of those times, there wasn’t a psycho hanging around our hideout.” He said, holding back a groan of pain. It wasn’t as bad as it should have been, the pain. He had a feeling the virus was numbing it, the first step to a full recovery.
“We have to go find the old man. He’s gonna cause us a lot of problems if we don’t find him.” He said, taking a shaky step and testing his weight. If he took it slow, he should be ok.

With both hands in working order again Malcom started playing on his PDA whilst Rio worked on Daniel and Elijah rested. She was becoming quite the talented medic for the group despite what little resources she had on hand, plus shown enough chutzpah to hold off Wolfe and Rhonin when it counted. After wrapping up a round of tetris whilst Daniel suggested the next move, Malcom bought up a file on screen, plugging a cable into an old monitor to bring things up for the rest of the group.
"I've been thinking about that believe it or not, check this out." A text file and an old online news article filled the screen.
"At the start of this outbreak the white house passed the volunteer guard act pledging protection to medical and technical personel who cater to military. Now there are a few guard checkpoints around here and the occasional convoy. If we set this place up as a hospital slash armory and get a few extra hands to help out. We'll get to enjoy a bit of extra security and material. Let the MPs hang around and guard the place, make fresh batches of antivirus, even improve on it. Plus if Art and her goons turn up again, they'll be buried in so much law and litigation trouble they won't know what way is up."
He stopped rambling for a second and let that sink in.
"Of course maybe this could wait until the painkillers and adrenaline wear off. Probably all a blur right now?"
