Andreya's hand graced the back of her neck as she let out a heavy sigh. She closed her eyes as she sat down on the bed. They were going to give her back to her awful family and she didn't want to go. She wanted to stay with Thorton . . . now that she thought about it maybe it wasn't the smartest thing she done keeping it a secret. Now it was to late, but she also knew that Thorton was going to come looking for her . . . just like he did in Raccoon. Setting the blanket down she pulled out her inhaler and looked it over. Pocketing the device she walked over to the desk and started pulling the drawers out, and dumping the contents on the desk. Shuffling through them she didn't find anything of use. Letting out a heavy sigh as she leaned back against the wall.
Then it dawned on her. She was a chemistry student in a lab. There was bound to be things here she could use . . . just not in the room. She looked to the door before looking to the window. Letting out another sigh as she opened the window and looked around. It wasn't going to be easy, but she still had a few tricks up her sleeve from the many times she tried to run away. Then the last time was the easiest. She walked over to the bed picking up the blanket. Pulling on it tightly and feeling the firmness with it. It would last to long, but maybe enough for her to get to ground level. Walking back to the desk she picked up the letter opener and started stabbing it into the blanket to make a tare big enough for her to rip the blanket in two.
Tying the ends together in a more fashionable and sturdy knot that Thorton had shown her over the years. She pushed the heavy wooden desk to the window, and then flipped it up on it's side with quite a bit of effort. She wasn't the strongest person out there, but even she knew what was the effect that the adrinalin was doing to her. She tied the blanket to the table leg and threw it out the window. Cursing slightly a the small drip she had from the end of the blanket. Still she knew she had to do something. If Thorton and Joe came in alone they were going up against a lot of people and maybe some very creepy monsters. She had to help even if it was just a little.
Climbing out the window she steadied herself before letting her full weight on the blanket. Climbing down until she reach the very end she hung by her hands and studied the drop. It was only a ten foot drop but it was still going to hurt. She swallowed hard before letting go. The ten foot drop almost feeling like a 30 foot drop to her as she hit the ground, her legs buckling under her as she stifled a cry. She laid there on the ground panting heavily as she tried her best to get herself back under control. She climbed to her feet testing them out, lucky enough for her they weren't broken, but they were hurting a lot more than she wanted. Using the wall as a crutch she staggered along the edge in order to find what she was looking for.

Inside the Surgeons room his vid screen came on revealing a middle aged man that looked like he was turning gray on the top. He was wearing a polo shirt and kackie pants. The man was standing out on a golfing range hitting a pall, and several men stood around him as his body guards. "I have come across some rather interesting information," the man spoke. He didn't look at the screen. "It seems that you have me niece in your custody along with the requested items," he said as he finally stood up and looked at the screen. "I'm willing to up the pay to 2 million for everything, but I need you to do something for me before you hand over my nice." He handed over his golf club to one of the men standing at his side. Removing his glove as he walked to a set of tables where a young looking woman and two young men in their earlier twenties sat. "My niece has a bit of a habit of getting out of control. Maybe there is a way to remedy that situation," he said as he turned to look back at the screen. "I hear your the best, so I'm sure that getting a little girl under control isn't that hard. If she happens to die during the surgery or what every you do . . . then well just call it collateral damage, but it will not affect the pay."

Joe sat silent in the helicopter for half of the trip. Thinking about what kind of trouble they could run into. Whilst he was more skilled than most in hand to hand, he didn't have good odds if he were to run into someone with a machine gun. After a minute he pulled off his medallion.
"Thornton, trade me for your tags, I have an idea."
****************************************************
"Your intel is right about my talents. But I am curious about how word got out just as fast about the girl being here. You know I don't take well to people poking into my affairs."
The Surgeon continued his work as he talked, hooking up a canister of Formula X to a pump device, connecting a tube to one of the pods and starting the device up, the monitors went crazy for a second, before settling.
"You know money is little interest these days, but there are other methods of payment." He took a notepad from his pocket. "Your enforcer 'Butterfly' Grady, I heard of his recent mishap, I'd like the body and all personal effects, make sure he's on ice and when he's delivered...." He pawed through several implants on his toolbench. "...we'll see if we can cut costs."

Thorton looked over at Joe for a moment, wondering why he wanted to switch a necklace for ID tags. He shrugged and took the chain off, tossing it to the monk while he kept getting ready. He had his usual armor with him. The closest thing they’d ever get to making bullet ‘proof’ armor. He also had a vest for Joe, along with a helmet. He wasn’t sure what Joe could use, do he’d grabbed a knife and one of the 1911 clones in the armory. He synched buckles and straps down, loaded magazines into weapons, ran a sharpening stone along the blade of his Ka Bar. All there was to do now was wait…
“Why do you wanna switch tags?” He asked Joe, eyeing the medallion on the seat next to him.

"Hmm . . . A body for the girl. I think that is quite a deal for me," he spoke as he looked back at the screen. He motioned for one of the body guards and watched as the man walked over to him, and leaned in front of him. After a moment he stood up and walked away. "Alright, the body is going on ice along with a couple of men I lost in Raccoon City because of that brat. I don't know how well the others will be to you, but never hurts. Not to mention if their bodies disappear it is less work I have to deal with in the end. Alright you can decided the place and time, I am ready at any time. The sooner I can get that brat in my hands the better. Again Doc I don't really care if it's dead or alive," he said as he stood up from the table.
-----------------------------
Andreya staggered along the wall until she found a door leading back into the main building. It didn't dawn on her until now about how light the security was, but when she thought about it she was on the inside and there was like two more fences and gates past the inside of the building. She made her way down the hall as quietly as possible hiding in the shadow from time to time. She wondered around a bit before she realized that she was lost and she had no idea where she was going. She needed a lab, but the closest thing she got was a storage room with nothing but house hold items. When she looked close enough they weren't any good to make a home made pipe bomb at that. Andreya sighed as she leaned against the wall, and hunkered down in the shadows of the storage room.

"Well I got to thinking, it's too risky to go in shooting, though if you go in quietly you'd be surrounded and unarmed. Myself? I've had no training with firearms. But these people, even if they were hired by the mafia, they don't know too much about us, so I was thinking...."
He slipped the dog tags on and left his medallion on the seat, taking one of the spare armour vests.
"While you go in quietly another way with your weapons, I just walk up and say 'Hi, I'm Thornton' ."
***************************************************
"We'll sort something out eventually. I'll call you when I'm ready." The Surgeon signed out and started preparing a shock collar.
"I find this whole thing a waste of time." Kabal spoke up. "Working for a thug to find his runaway brat."
"Well, for a thug, he does give enough money and manpower to fund my work, those implant killswitches he bought needed testing, plus it gave me a good chance to test a few side projects." He checked again on the pod he'd been working with. "Have the latest batch sent out in the transports, I'll keep this one close by for testing, and bring up the girl."
At that moment the guard at Andreyas room radioed in. "Uh, sir, the girl might be loose somewhere."
Fuming under his mask for a second, the Surgeon ordered Kabal to organise a search and to keep the outer guards on full alert.

Thorton looked at the medallion on the seat next to him and smirked. Interesting idea. It wouldn’t work for long. If they could get a hold of his service record, they’d have his picture. Not to mention he was quite a bit older and greyer than Joe. He picked up the medallion and looked at it for a moment. He didn’t recognize the sign for anything, but he knew how much it meant to Joe. He slipped it on and tucked it under the vest, as he did his dog tags.
He looked around at the gear on the benches of the chopper, looking for something he could give Joe to reinforce his disguise for a bit longer than its current duration. The best he could get was a balaclava.
“Put that on.” He told Joe, tossing the mask and a helmet to Joe. He also handed him the sheathed knife to attach to his belt. He then busied himself with the pistol. He knew Joe wouldn’t use it, but they’d be suspicious to see Thorton walk in without a weapon. If only to wear it on his belt in a holster, Joe would need to carry it.
Thorton loaded the weapon and turned the safety off. He handed it to Joe and spoke again.
“Put that in your holster. If you need to use it, pull back on the slide.” He said. Thinking a bit, he clarified. “The top part.” He said. He looked out the window and made sure he had everything. The island was in sight.
“Three minutes.” He said.

Andreya hid in the storage room for what seemed like forever. She was actually starting to get a bit fidgety. Finally standing up she eased to the door, and put her ear against it. She listened to the best of her ability, and when she didn't hear anything she assumed it was save to go out. She eased the door open to peek out, and didn't see anything. She she swung the door open on the other hand she felt it hit someone. She turned around to see a guard who had walked right into the door. Andreya didn't stop top think about anything before she took off running. As she rounded a corner she felt someone tackle her from behind slamming her into the wall. She cried out as she tried to get free of the man she had previously hit with the door. He in turn threw her on the ground, and knelt down where his knee was in the small of her back. Andreya cried out as her arms were jerked behind her and once more tied in place. She was pulled to her feet, and escorted back to the man in the mask.

The pilot swung around to the farthest open area of the island away from the prison fort structure. A crewman helped Joe hook up a rappel line for a drop, Thornton having enough experience to sort himself out. The pilot called out a few scraps of intel about the layout that he picked up from the flyover, the island was mostly tree covered, several paths having been cut out recently and the prison (plus a few separate towers around the island) being the only constructions on the island.
As Joe and Thornton landed, Joe unhooked himself and checked his gear over, at least trying to look like a soldier, he handed his bag, knife and medallion to Thornton for the time being, keeping the kitten in his pocket where it curled up and started napping.
"Well, I guess I'll head right to the front door and say hello. Will you be alright finding another path inside?" ***************************************************
The guards dragged Andreya back to the lab and pushed her to a chair, Kabal snapping on a collar as she struggled. The Surgeon held out a remote to make his point, flicking one switch started a beeping and a blue light from the collar.
"This part is just a test, blue indicates the collar will deliver a high voltage shock, delivered by a series of needles." A second button stopped the blue light and started a red light and buzzing. "When it turns red, the collar is preparing a short delayed explosion, via a high yield detonation cord, separating your head from your body."
He directed the guards to untie her. "Now that the demonstration is over, I hope we'll have no more trouble."

“I take up position on that hill, cover you and watch where they take you.” He said, slinging the assault rifle he brought and pulling up a bolt action rifle with a scope mounted and a sound suppressor. “When I get a position, I’ll infiltrate through the fence.” He said, looking down for a moment to see the suppressor on the end of the M4 and on his Glock.
“Calm and easy, we need them to take you to where she is.” He said. If they didn’t, they’d find Thorton in their compound long before he could search even half of it. He was amazed at how calm he was at this moment. Reminded him of a long time ago. A bitter calm and a long range rifle. Ironic.

Andreya looked up at them men with tears in her eyes. She looked behind the man as a screen opened up revealing a man she recognized more than anything else. "U . . . Uncle?" she questioned as her words made everyone turned to look at the screen.
"Ah- Andreya . . . nice to see you're in good health . . . at least for now. Surgeon," he said his words holding a stern tone to them. "I think it's about time we talk about handing over my niece. You've had enough time . . ."
To Andreya his words trailed off as she edged back to the door. She looked around the room at the many chemicals that laid around the room. She reached behind her finding a pole. Her hand wrapping around it as best as she could. She brought it up as the others payed attention to the screen. Her hands wrapping around the pole as she swung it as hard as she could hitting Kabal in the back of the head. Her swing not hard enough to knock him unconscious, but the pole enough to hurt him. She ran to the other side of the room just swinging at the chemicals. She didn't care what they were but all she wanted was to put them on a delay as much as possible.
"Do something before she ruins this!" her Uncle hollered. "An I told you to do something make her passive, not out of control!" he barked.

Joe took a few deep breaths with his eyes closed, trying to remain calm for the upcoming task.
"Okay, I'm ready."
He followed a cut path through the trees towards the prison fort. Humming to himself to keep his nerves. Occasionally he would hear rustling from the undergrowth, possibly advance guards following him, in response he raised his hands to look non threatening and continued on across the island, hoping his idea would work out. ****************************************************
"Ample time? I don't know what drop outs you've been buying from previously, but MY work will not be rushed."
The Surgeon and his guards snapped around when Andreya broke loose, her actions starting a small chemical fire on a desk. As one of the mercs grabbed the pole mid swing, another sprayed a fire extinguisher on the blaze and the Surgeon hit the shock button on the remote to deter the girl from fighting back.
"She's passive now isn't she?" The Surgeon growled back at the screen. "I think any fool can work one of these?"
A second picture came up on screen, pushing the first video aside. Several guards out on the island were watching a man walking towards them.
"Sir? We've got an intruder, it may be the secondary target travelling with that girl, the soldier?"
"Now's your chance to make up for your insult O'Conners, what is your offer and terms for the adopted father?"

Thorton made his way up into the hills, on the lookout for sentries. On his way to the highest point the could find, he didn’t see any. It made sense. Someone camped out on the side of a hill wasn’t the best place for a snipers nest. On top, flat ground, a cliff with a good overlook of the valley and his buddies. When he made it up, that’s exactly where he found a sniper and spotter. As if by luck, the spotter got up and started to walk toward the bushes Thorton hid in.
Thorton went low, keeping silent as he reached for his Glock. His hand froze for a moment, his finger touching the button on the retention holster. He slid it forward, touching the hilt of his knife. He unsnapped the holster and slid the blade out. Seven inches long, black, sharp as a razor. Sure, it would have been easy to use his pistol and have them both taken out quickly and silently. A knife required more effort and planning, was messier. But. His anger was still welling, threatening to boil over. He contained it well when he had to, but the thought that he could make someone suffer more than needed was enough incentive to make him take the extra effort.
The man made his way to the bushes, started to veer to the side to make for a clearer path. Thorton reached out and snapped his hand over the mans mouth, jerked his head to the side, and stabbed into the mans side. Several times in quick succession, blood spurting out from the wounds. Thorton felt the vibrations on his hand as the man screamed, the sound soon cut off when the mercenary went into shock.
The sniper looked over to look for the source of the slight noise, seeing nothing. He set his rifle down and pulled out his sidearm, making his way toward the bushes. When he was in range, Thorton sprung out. In a move quicker than the merc could aim and fire his pistol, Thorton slashed to the side. Blood sprayed as the merc grabbed for the wound across his throat. Grabbing a fistful of hair, Thorton braced the man and jammed the knife into his forehead. The force of the blow splintered bone, and Thorton worked the knife around, effectively scrambling the mercenary’s brain. He ripped the knife free and let the body drop. He took a deep breath and moved on, toward the spot they had been stationed. He laid down and set up his own rifle, the scope finding Joe easily. He looked to the side and saw one of the mercenary’s radios. He left it alone but made sure it was on, ensuring he could listen in on their transmissions. He also had a link to Joe, the button taped down to receive all the time and make no noise. He had the best communications and position the situation had to offer and the training to make the most of it.

Andreya laid on the ground her hand twitched slightly as she blinked a few time. She felt the tears in her eyes, and the small current leaving her body. Her body now hurt, and she didn't even bother moving except for the slight movement to curl up. Her arms wrapping around her knees as she pulled them closer to her chest.
"Yes she does seem a bit pacified, but I was looking for something more like a doll. Maybe you could acquire that, but if you can't . . . there is no harm in trying," he said as he looked at Andreya cowering in the floor. "As for the payment it is all set up and waiting for you. An to have the adopted father . . . well I may just up the payment then. Unless your wanting to give him away as a gift," he said with a laugh. "Though this man probably wouldn't survive to steps in front of me. He has caused me great pain. Again just tell me where."

"Well Thornton, I'm leaving the other half to you, good luck with that."
The mercenaries surrounded Joe, all but one pointing assault rifles as the last continued his call. Joe kept his hands raised so as not to provoke gunfire.
"Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Thornton, I believe your leaders have my, um, daughter and I'd like to have words with them." The mercs looked at him quizically. "Gawdemmit." ***************************************************
"Bring him in, remove his weapons." The Surgeon told his troops before signing off. "Kabal, make sure all the other sentries are on alert."
Kabal radioed out as the Surgeon got back to his previous call. "Doll? I'm a weapons dealer, not santa." **************************************************
A jeep had turned up at the checkpoint to pick up Joe, two mercs going with him to keep any risk of violence down. Some time later they made it to the main gate of the prison. Joe was searched and had his helmet, gun and knife taken away, they left his body armour and mask on for the mean time, searching him elsewhere.
"What the hell is this?" One of the guards found Andreya's kitten in a pocket. Joe quickly snapped it back.
"That's my daughters kitten...do we have a problem you...ass?"
The guard waved him past, letting the other two take him up to the Surgeons lab, upon entering the room Joe made his way right over to Andreya.
"Are you okay?" The kitten jumped out of his hand and ran over to her. Kabal grabbed Joe by the vest and lifted him to face the Surgeon.
"If you don't mind us interrupting, mind explaining yourself?"
"Okay" Joe took his mask off, then showed off the tags he was wearing. "I'm Thornton, this girls father and I intend to take her home before I have to get angry." Kabal clubbed him over the back of the head and let him drop for the half threat. Joe rubbing his head as he stood again.

Thorton couldn’t have asked for a better set of circumstances. A downward angle within range. He had watched the jeep take off to the gate of the compound. He watched them take Joe to a building with windows. He could see Joe and the other people in the room quite clearly when he changed the power on the scope. A man in a mask, a big f**k grabbing Joe, some a**hole on a view screen. That’s all he saw, apart from a few merc for muscle. Nothing special.
He zeroed in on the room as a whole, not sure who the first target would be. It would have to be someone who was going to prove an immediate threat. His first shot may be the only one he got. He had to make it count, and that meant watching and waiting…
