Andreya's eyes went wide when she seen Joe, and only for a moment before he was pulled away. Then he was waving Thorton's dog tags around claiming to be him. It didn't take her to long to realize what was going on. Her Uncle on the other hand knew quite well who Thorton was. "That . . . that man is not Thorton Johnson . . . you have been played for a fool Doctor!" he growled slightly as he looked at the room.
"NO!!!" Andreya shouted as she staggered to her feet. She picked up Shocks, and put her in her pant's pocket. "Leave him alone," she cried as she staggered accross the room. "Leave my father alone!"
"That is not your father, and neither is that Johnson guy. You are quite a troubled child, and I plan on putting a stop to that once you are back in my custody."
"I DON'T BELONG TO YOU!!" she screamed. "I am not a toy . . . I am no a slave . . . and I'm sure as hell not going to be your f**king doll!!"
"WHATCH YOUR MOUTH CHILD!!" her uncle screamed over the video causing the speakers to vibrate. "Doctor that man is not Thorton Johnson . . . he is an imposter."
Andreya ran to Joe and at the last possible moment was pratically pulled off her feet by one of the guards. She hit the ground hard causing her to cry out. "I want my dad," she cried as she tried to get back to her feet. The guard pushed her back down on the ground, and put his foot on her back to keep her pinned to the ground. "Please," she cried.
"Not much of a challange are you," her uncle spoke. "We'll have to do something about your language to." He turned to look at the Doctor before speaking again. "Is it possible to turn her into a doll? If not the collar will do. I have a buyer already standing by for the girl. He says he has a lot planned for someone so young. I would like to get the child to him as soon as possible, and to deal with Thorton Johnson as soon as you get your hands on him."
"That . . . that . . . ow . . ." she cried as she felt the guard put pressure down on her back. "That is my dad," she coughed heavily as she cried.

Recovering fast, Joe saw one of the guards roughing up Andreya, forgetting the plan for a second he rushed over, gripping the mans wrist and turning, hooking the back of thee mercs leg with his own to send him stumbling into the wall. The rest of the guards aimed their rifles simultaneously, Kabal drawing a pair of his knives and the Surgeon pulling a large revolver from a holster under his jacket. Joe ignored them all to help the girl up.
"I have to say....whatever your name is." The Surgeon tried to get back to the matter at hand.
"Let's just stick with Thornton, it'll be easier." Kabal rolled his eyes again at Joe's attempt to keep the ruse going. "Well, it's my word against a criminal type who hired a pack of mercenaries to abduct a little girl, no offense."
The Surgeon chuckled. "None taken, and I have to admit, despite your terrible attempt at an accent, trying to pretend to be a man much older than you and trying to fake being a soldier. It took some brass to try this, so let's start over, and tell me who you are."
Joe sighed, looking down at Andreya, taking off the dog tags and the body armour he was wearing and handing it to her. "Well, looks like he called my bluff." He looked back up at the group. "My name is Andreya, I believe you were looking for me when your men kidnapped this complete stranger here?"
Moving fast to the side Joe raised his leg, sweeping a bottle off the table with a powerful kick, knocking it towards the gunmen, they ducked aside as it hit the communications screen, causing a shower of sparks and disorientating the guards as Joe pulled Andreya into cover behind one of the large pods.
"Thornton, if you're still listening in, some of that 'firing cover' sounds good."

In normal times, Thorton would have smiled at the hell Andreya and Joe were causing for their captors. But not today. Instead, he almost zoned out on the conversation over the radio. He was dialing in the scope on his rifle, calculating wind and drop in the trajectory in the bullet. He still remembered how to do all of that, even though he hadn’t handled a long range rifle in years.
He watched the events through the scope, ready to fire, and listened to everything in the com link. He knew Andreya was here, didn’t want to fire for risk of a weapon going off and a stray round hitting her or Joe. He waited. Waited for Joe to start antagonizing them again, and for the monk to strike out in a way no one expected. Sparks flew, and while the mercs tried to put it out, Joe swept Andreya out of the way. He heard Joe call for covering fire, and already had a shot lined up.
The crack of the round going off wasn’t heard by the target. It was probably heard by the others in the room several seconds after the window shattered and the mercenary starting to aim his rifle fell to the ground, but not the one who ended up with the bullet in his ear. Thorton worked the bolt on the rifle quickly and aimed again. A mercenary looking toward the broken window got the next shot. By that time, everyone started go for cover.
It was now that Thorton’s earlier method was a hindrance. He couldn’t yell to Joe to run through the radio. He could only hope that Joe would get the idea and go. All he could do with pick off anyone in their way.

Andreya was practically curled into Joe's arms as the chaos broke out. Shocks had curled up into the pocket she had put him in, and she could feel his claws through the pant leg. The small kitten probably as scared as she was. The sound of gunfire echoed through the room, but she knew well enough that it wasn't coming from the mercs but rather an outside source. Andreya clutched Joe tightly as she not only was savoring in his comfort, but also waiting for him to move. Her mind completely forgetting the collar that was around her neck.

The remaining mercs divided up their numbers between shooting out the windows to deter the marksman going at them and preventing Joe and Andreya from moving out of their cover. Kabal tried to throw one of his knives at the two, only to have his aim thrown off by another merc getting shot and bumping into him. Joe quickly scooped up the knife as his own weapon.
"Get the remote!" The Surgeon ordered. "Hit the detonator!"
"Detonator?" Joe looked at Andreya, noticing the high tech collar on her and putting two and two together. "Hold still a second. "He jammed the tip of the knife in the lock, twisting it around until he heard a click. He got the collar off her and looked back over at the guards. One had grabbed the remote and was frantically hitting the button, causing the device to blink red in Joe's hand.
"Stay down a sec." He stood out of cover, clicking the collar shut and twisting his body with his arm straight, throwing the collar in an arc pattern towards the other side of the room. It detonated in mid air, knocking almost everyone sprawling and starting more fires in the lab.
Kabal helped the Surgeon up as he hit a hidden switch to activate a back passage out of the room. "I think it's best we fall back Sir."
"Yes." The Surgeon aimed his revolver at one of the pods. "Get me to the boat and we'll evacuate, I'll leave these two with more formidable company." He shot at a tube feeding the pod with sedatives, causing something inside to growl and punch at the glass. Kabal, the Surgeon and a few of his mercs escaped out their exit tunnel, shutting it behind them.
"Thornton, we're leaving the room now. Andreya seems okay so far, shaken though." Joe helped the girl out of the room, grabbing a wrench to jam in the door once they got out. A crash was heard inside as something started pounding the door. "I think we best vacate the premises." Taking her hand he led her down one of the corridors towards the helipad courtyard.

Thorton watched the events unfold through his scope, watching as Joe swiftly got Andreya out of the room and took care of a good deal of the mercenaries in the process. He tried to fire on the two fleeing, the one in the mask and what Thorton assumed to be his body guard, to no avail. On his sweep back to the door, he cleaned up the room, putting a round into any of the mercs he saw moving. It wasn’t a large number. He got back to the door in time to see some kind of monster breaking out of a stasis pod. He didn’t waste time, firing a shot into its shoulder as it pounded on the door.
Meanwhile, he heard the mercenaries radio channel light up with chatter. Mass confusion as to what was going on, orders to go toward the source of the explosion., to find the source of the sniper fire. They even put in a few calls to the sniper team that Thorton had killed. He knew he’d have to move soon. When the magazine ran out on his rifle, he stood and slung it. Making his way to the edge and starting to slide down, he took out his M4 and jerked back on the charging handle. He kept sliding down the hill until he got to the bottom, taking cover when he heard an engine nearby.
The jeep pulled up, but the men never had a chance to get out. From cover, Thorton fired off a few single shots to keep them inside. The glass to the drivers side window shattered after a few shots, and Thorton closed the distance. He stuck the barrel of the carbine into the vehicle and unloaded most of the magazine. The wild fire shredded through the men in the front seat. He saw the back door start to open and knew he wouldn’t have the time to reload. With a quick kick, he slammed it shut on someone’s arm and leg while drawing his Glock. He fired several shots through the window into the merc, following his pattern and emptying more rounds into the one on the other side.
Ejecting the magazine from his pistol, he slapped a new one in and holstered it, then did the same for his M4. He yanked the body out of the drivers seat and spun the vehicle back toward the compound, taking off in a cloud of dust toward it.

Andreya clung onto Joe tightly as he moved through the halls. Gunfire erupted behind them hitting the wall. She cried out as her hands gripped his tightly. She felt Shocks moving around in her pocket as if it was just as scared as she was. Panting heavily as they continued moving. The tightness was building in her chest causing her to gasp slightly as they continued to move. Her hand reaching into her pocket for her inhaler, grasping it tightly as she pulled it out. Her legs felt like jello and she staggered a bit, but still managed to use her inhaler. Though it felt as if it hadn't done anything for her.
She felt the sleepyness taking hold, but she still attempted to keep up with Joe. She was crying heavily, but all she was getting out were heavy wheezes. Tears streaming down her cheeks as she could see the door not to far from them, and a jeep pull up to the front. Inside of it she could see Thorton in the drivers side. She smiled weakly before passing out at the door steps. Her hand slipping from Joe's as she hit the ground hard.

The monster eventually broke through the lab door, charging into the corridor and following the group. One of the Surgeons newest projects, combining his Formula X muscle enhancer with the T-virus, using the bodies of homicidal mental patients, serial killers, or otherwise amoral people. Recovered and treated fast enough, the brain would keep other instincts besides the need to eat, the main plan being to keep their talents with their chosen weapon. This particular experiment was on the infamous torture expert Dr Dzell, who worked with a south american diamond smuggling group, infamous for his talent with a dentist drill.
The revived Dzell passed a tool storage room on his rampage, claiming a pair of cordless power drill, his instincts recognising the basic shape and function and approving of their increased size and damage potential. ***************************************************
Joe helped Andreya up carefully, getting her into the passenger seat of the jeep next to Thornton, making sure to hand over her bag and the armour vest.
"I'm not sure what they did before we got here, but they hit her a few times at least. We'd best get out of here as soon as possible."
Gunfire and screaming from inside the base caught their attention. The hulking form of Dzell stamped out into the doorway of the compound, his drills and arms caked in blood from the mercs he had ran into on the way. Several bullet holes crossed his form. Joe closed the door of the jeep and hung onto the side.
"We can outrun him, right?"

“We’ll see.” Thorton said, still all business as he flipped the jeep around and thundered off along the trail. They needed a way out of here now. And since he wasn’t a pilot, that meant a boat. There had to be one here, ho else would they get cargo and supplies? A helicopter could only carry about a tenth of the cargo a full ship could. He was hoping for a speedboat, something with some speed.
He didn’t know his way around, but he knew which direction the dock was. He’d spotted it on their chopper ride in here. Due east from the prison. He headed that way, doing his best to navigate the makeshift road system and stay going that way. He hoped Joe could hold on, because he didn’t have the luxury of taking it slow with that thing on their tail.
It wasn’t long before they got to the dock, the gates open and a jeep there, eight or so merc’s in place trying to find a way out of here. Thorton screeched to a stop and dismounted the vehicle in record time, pulling up his M4 and firing before some of the mercenaries even knew what was going on.

Andreya opened her eyes slightly only to get the scare of her life when several bullets hit the windshield from the return fire. She cried out as she nearly crawled under the dash board. She covered her head her body trimbling, and she still found it difficult to breath from her attack earlier. Still it was a lot better than earlier. She gathered herself enough to look around the jeep seeing Thorton taking cover behind the drivers door. She tried to edge across to the drivers side when she heard the bullet proof glass shatter, and came raining down ontop of her. She cried out again as she covered her head, and fought her urge to cry.

Only half of the mercs got to their guns before Thornton opened fire on them, they returned in kind, most using AK variants. The others took cover behind a few crate stacks, trying to find where they'd packed a set of M72 LAW's, intending to take out their attackers with one clean shot to the jeep.
"I'll be right back."
Joe didn't wait around doing nothing, he rushed around the jeep towards the crates, vaulting over a stack and deliving a kick to two of the mercs, knocking them into the water. As the second swung a crowbar, Joe caught his wrist, then hit him with a stunning jab to the ribs, following up by tossing the man towards the last merc, bowling the two of them over. Joe checked the crate they were looking in, finding a pair of long tube's with triggers and folding sights on them, an odd type of weapon.
A roar from the trees heralded Dzell catching up to the group, the mercs dividing their fire between Thornton and the treeline to hold him back.

Thorton took cover behind the door of the jeep, knowing it was cover from sight only. The 7.62 rounds they were firing would punch through the door he was behind like a sheet of paper, but they would slow the rounds dramatically. So much that they would ping off Thorton’s armor like nothing. He fired off a few more rounds from his M4, only to hear the click of an empty chamber.
Tossing the weapon to the ground, he grabbed the double barreled rifle from his back. Equivalent to a four gauge shotgun shell, it could stop a rouge Bull Elephant with one shot. Not to mention with the ammo it used, it had a range to rival the .50 caliber rounds used for long range sniping. As it was, his rounds would go through those crates the same as theirs would go through the car door.
He packed the stock into his shoulder tightly and aimed out the window again, seeing a few of them standing to get a better angle. He fired one shot, hitting a mercenary in the chest. The entrance wound was the size of an apple, the exit wound the size of a watermelon. The man beside ducked down, only to be hit with a round as well through the weapon crate.
He broke open the weapon and slid in two more shells, snapping it shut and taking aim again. He saw a few running for better cover, and fired at one who thought he could kill Thorton before he got killed. He was wrong. The last behind the crates tried to run then as well, only to take one of the shots in his side as he ran.
Thorton let it hang on his shoulder by the strap as he reached into the jeep and grabbed Andreya. He draped her over his shoulder and ran toward the crates, leaving the M4 behind. He was almost out of ammo for it as it was. He got to the crates, new Joe, and set her down.
“Did you see any boats?” He asked, breaking open his double barrel and replacing the shells.

Andreya looked around shaking slightly as the roar of the creature grew closer. She looked up at Thorton with wide eyes, almost terrified in look. She looked around trying to calm down as best as she could, finally gathering herself enough to climb down off the crate. "I can go look for a boat," she said as she looked toward the tree line. Wishing the creature was a lot slower.
((Sorry for it being short.))

"Well, I guess we have to hold him off until she finds that boat. Shouldn't be too hard." Joe chuckled half nervous.
"I found these anyway, maybe they'll be of some use." He showed one of the LAW's he'd found among the merc cargo. Holding it sideways and fiddling with the caps on either side. "I just can't figure out how they work."
Before he could be warned, Joe hit the trigger on the weapon, launching a rocket towards the hill that Dzell was clambering down, blasting a chunk out of the landscape and throwing the monster back from the loss of stable ground. Joe quickly dropped the empty tube looking guilty and stepped away from the second launcher.
"Okay, I'm thinking I should keep away from guns for a while."

Thorton had recognized the LAW as soon as he saw it, and tried to stop Joe as his hand neared the trigger. Luckily, the business end was aiming away from them and the crates behind that would have detonated the rocket and killed them all.
“I’ll take care of that.” He said, picking up the last tube and resting it on his shoulder. He flipped up the cap on the front end and peered down the sights. He led the shot at the monster, pulling the trigger and launching the explosive projectile. He dropped the useless tube as soon as the rocket was clear and picked up his rifle.
He failed to acknowledge Andreya’s idea of going to look for a boat. He didn’t know who else was waiting around here, and she wasn’t going to go off on her own. Joe could go with, but he didn’t use guns… But that didn’t stop him from saving them on several occasions.
“Joe, take her and find a boat. I’m going to make sure that thing is dead.” He said, shouldering his rifle and aiming toward the dust cloud that still hung from the rocket impact.
