Devin pushed his heel down as he shoved the door to the mall open. It was overrun but he could handle it. he pulled out his Five-SeveN and turned towards the side of the door. He heard some footsteps, and they thudded largely. No human walked like that, and it was so sad that it wasn't another non-infected. Indeed, he had been infected once, but he was fine now. He was able to be given the anti-virus, but he can't even remember that anymore.
Cocking the pistol, he pushed himself up against a rack, and leaned over. to his surprised he looked right into the legs of a walking dead. Pulling his pistol up, he jammed the gun in the chin of the zombie and quickly fired. Three bullets rapidly flew into the head of the zombie and Devin quickly evaded the falling zombie and any splatter of his blood that fell. He knew the noise would cause his friends to want to play too, so he quickly reached behind him pulling his hemmington 870 from his back, pumping it, he readied the shotgun for any other surprises that awaited him.
Quickly, he made his way to the food aisles. Most of the food was taken, but he knew there would be something for him here. he didn't know why he was here either. He knew why he was in this mall, but he could be anywhere right now, why was he still in this town? Why did he fell like he couldn't leave? His head hurt as he thought and he cleared his mind. He moved aside a cart that was placed in front of the aisle and quickly slung a backpack from over his shoulder to the ground. He began filling the bag with some food, canned mostly. When he heard another noise from the end of the long aisle, and quickly readied his shotgun pointing at where he heard the noise.

Alex had grown hungry, and everywhere she went she couldn't find food. Everything had been raided and nearly picked clean. What made matters worse was she had no more needles, and no more virus supplements on her. She felt drained and tired, but she couldn't sleep. If she slept who knows what could happen. She yawned a bit as she shuffled around one of the many food stands found in the mall. Her growling stomach practically giving her away. Though as she looked around it almost seemed as if the walkers were interested in something else. None of them seemed to venture near her. She wondered if there was something else here, or if it was the virus in her body that kept them at bay. Either way she knew one thing . . . she was hungry and there was no food at this stand.
Huffing slightly she climbed over the counter and made her way to another stand. Why couldn't people just leave things be for those who where really hungry. It was like this area had been picked clean and that any food she was going to find wasn't going to be here. Tears came to her eyes at the realization that she may just go hungry again. Of course she wasn't human and she didn't need to eat like them, but she still got the hunger pains and she still needed to eat for energy. At least that was what her brain told her body. Either way it went she was alone and hungry. Her father had gone off on one of his missions and again she was left with her friends. In which they had become separated once more. She had tried finding them but eventually gave up. Alex sat down on the ground in the middle of the food court. She pulled her knees up to her chest and just closed her eyes. At the moment she didn't care.

Devin scooted closer to the edge of the aisle. He pulled the backpack over his shoulder and moved to the end of the aisle. He didn't see any zombies, so he quickly stood straight up. He was in the food court. He had never seen a mall empty like this. It was like he could imagine what the court looked like as if it were full. Meats here, dairy over there. He sighed for a second, and holstered the shotgun on his back and pulled out his Five SeveN. He sighed quickly and turned around. Then he could hear legs scooting across the ground. It was faint, but it was quite quiet in the mall.
Devin moved his arm up, pointing the gun forward, as he knew it was prolly another zombie. Devin peered forward, and beyond a counter he saw something. It wasn't a zombie. It was a girl. He quickly holstered his gun, but kepthis hands at the ready.
"Who are you?" He asked, his hands felt nimble, as did his body. He was ready for anything, zombies have been seen sitting still, waiting for something alive to walk by.

Alex heard a voice and for a moment she ignored it, but then after a bit she looked up. Her eyes growing wide at the site before her. Alex wanted to run . . . she wanted to run away from what she was seeing. It was impossible. It had been over five years since she seen those eyes, but she remembered them all to well. "D- D . . . Devin?" she asked with a shaky voice as she climbed to her feet. Her mind wanting to run, but her body seemed frozen in place. As she looked at the man she had loved so long ago, and even now she still held feelings for him. But after she married Jimmy she pushed those feelings aside as best as she could. She knew he was dead lost in the last outbreak, but no . . . he was here . . . he was standing in front of him. Or was it an illusion. Was she losing her mind and just remembering happier memories. No . . . no if she did then he would be younger. Yet he looked older, and more mature than the last time they were together.
"D- Devin?" she asked again raising a shaky hand to the person in front of her. Was it really him or was she losing her mind? Not long ago she was forced into killing her son and husband. Maybe it was her brains way of telling her she had gone mad, but if that was it then she didn't want to be sane. Yet . . . if this was reality what would happen to her? Shaking her head as she looked up at him tears in her eyes as she stared at him. He had to be real. . . for her hearts shake he had to be real.

"Umm..." He stared blankly at the girl, slightly backing up as she got to her feet. He rubbed his head for a second, and blinked wildly. "How do you know me...? How do you know my name? Who are you?" He asked blankly. He stared at her, but his head hurt. He remembered something, yelling, screaming. He remembered bloody hands. A licker? Is that what they called this BOW? Yes. Hands. It was trying to pull someone into a shaft. No... Yes... Who is it? Her face, it's unclear. His head hurt, and he stumbled briefly.
"Seriously... This is weird." He heard some moaning, and he quickly pulled out his pistol. Looking at the woman, he spoke again. "What's your name?" He seriously didn't know who this girl was, and she knew him. This bugged him extremely. for some reason when he first saw her look up, his heart did some sort of flutter type thing, it was quite odd actually.

Alex's eyes widened as Devin asked who she was. It had been over five years, but she never expected him to forget her . . . well she never even expected him to be alive for that fact. Tears swelled in her eyes as her heart hurt at the fact. She never stopped loving him, but she had to push it aside when someone else started loving her. He was dead, that would have been the only reason why she never saw him again. Tears streaming down her face as she looked at him. Her heart feeling as if it was about to shatter. "I- It's A . . . Alex . . . . Alexandria," she chocked on the words as she looked at him. She then smiled weakly as she looked down at the ground. It was probably for the best that he didn't remember her.
Remembering her hands wrapping around her little boy's neck, and driving her hand threw her husband's chest. She closed her eyes as more tears feel free and dripped down her chin. To slaughter those she loved without a care in the world. Maybe it was better that he didn't remember her. That he didn't remember all those horrible things that happened back then. She looked at him with a weak smile as she tried her best to wipe her tears away. "We met a long time ago," she spoke as she chocked a bit.

Devin looked at the girl. She was odd, white, in every feature. He didn't find her ugly, no. She was quite pretty, and she seemed to have not gotten the right amount of sleep lately. The sounds soon disappeared and he holstered his gun. He couldn't remember her, who was she? How come it felt like she was someone important to him. He felt like he knew her. She began to cry, and he quickly moved closer to her. "Alexandria it was? I'm sorry. I don't know you, I've never seen you before." He didn't think it'd be right to tell her hoe he felt, it would be odd to do that to someone he just met.
Wrapping an arm around her, he looked her over. "You haven't been bitten, have you?" He rubbed her shoulder gently, not knowing if she might turn and bite him, or hit him and run. He gently pulled away and looked her in the eye. Or from the side glance, as she was looking down. "Are you okay? You hurt?" He asked, as he still rubbed her shoulder gently. It seemed as if she needed some comfort, and he felt oblidged to help her somehow.

Alex wiped her eyes as she looked up at him. She shook her head as she looked down at the ground. She wrapped her own arms around her shoulder and rubbed them gently. "No . . . I haven't been bitten," she said lightly as she looked around the room. Her stomach growling slightly and she sighed heavily. Shaking her head as she looked up. Should she tell him, and what if she did . . . what would happen to her . . . to him if she told him what she was. Would she lose the last thing she had left in this hellish world. Alex looked away from him and back down the dimly lit hall. Should she run away . . . wouldn't that protect him if she did. Yet she couldn't do that. She couldn't run away. She wanted to stay as close to him as humanly possible. Then she heard it. Her ears picking up on a faint sound. So quite that a normal human couldn't hear it.
Her head tilted up to the sound as her eyes narrowed just slightly. Then her eyes grew wide as she seen it falling. A licker it was. Moved forward and pushed Devin back causing him to fall to the ground. She on the other hand didn't move quick enough as the licker landed on top of her causing her to fall to the ground. An as she hit her head hit the tiled floor rather hard. She cried out as she felt it's claws sinking into her bare back. Staring around dizzily as blood dripped from the cut on her forehead.

Falling backwards the shotgun slid from his holster on his back, and his arm was slammed on by a falling rack behind him. It stung a lot, and he made a wincing sound as he pulled his arm free from the rack. Quickly thinking he pulled out his pistol and quickly steadied himself. He shot at the back of the creature, but it didn't budge. The cry of Alex angered him, actually. He didn't know why, but suddenly adrenaline pumped into his arms and legs, and he shot forwards. He slammed quickly into the licker. The force was good enough to shove the creature off the girl.
With the rest of the energy he pulled the gun upwards. the tongue of the licker went to grab his arm, but before it was able to wrap it around his arm, he pulled the trigger. A quick burst fire ensued, and sent five bullets into the skull of the Licker. He closed his eyes, and the Lickers dead body fell on top of him.
"Alex..." He rose up, holding his arm, wincing in pain. It was oddly twisted, and he could feel a bone out of place. Before anything else, he grabbed his arm, and quickly twisted it the right away. Hearing a crack, he felt the bone plop back into place. He winced loudly, as he slowly walked towards where Alex was lying on the ground. "Are you alright?" He said, kneeling beside her. He noticed the cut on her head, and the claw marks that seeped through her clothing.
"Ahh... s***... You're infected..." He sighed, and lowered his head. "You're gonna become on of them..." He sighed gently, pulling his gun out, ready for her to just leap at him, or something. He couldn't kill her before it happened, that would be just plain wrong.

Alex shook her head lightly as she kept herself from crying. She laid her head down on the cold ground and closed her eyes. She just tried her best to keep herself under control as much as possible. Slowing her breathing down made her realize that her back didn't hurt as much. Yet what popped into her head made her want to cry. She didn't want to tell him . . . she wanted to keep it a secret as long as possible, but it seemed that fate deemed that it be now that he knew. Her body trembled slightly as she laid there, cold and still hungry. But that had to be put to the side for now. Alex grimaced slightly as she tried to push herself up, but with the sharp pain coursing threw her back put her back on the ground again. "I- I'm already i- infected," she said lightly as she could feel her tears coming on again. "I- I've been infected since I was born," she said lightly as she finally decided to stay resting on the ground. She closed her eyes, and tried her best to relax. "I- I can't turn into one of them . . . I . . . I am f- far worse than them . . . j- just that I can't control myself." Opening her eyes she looked at the ground. "I- I'm sorry," she said lightly as she just laid there fighting back her tears.

Devin's eyes widened, his head swirled with ideas. He quickly pulled out his gun, pointing at her. Backing up slowly, he felt his hand twitch, and he didn't know what she was, or how she knew him. He rose his hand up, to shush her from speaking, but she apologized. What for? How did she know him!? He shook the gun and expected an answer from her. His head hurt, he didn't know who she was and it was bothering him.
"Infected from birth!? Who are you!? HOW DO YOU KNOW ME!?" He yelled, not caring for the zombies around the mall that loved human voices. He quickly shook the gun at her more violently and spoke once more. "Tell me, now! Who are you. I don't know you at all, why do I feel like you are comfortable near me? Is this some kind of a trick, I've heard of human experiments. Is that your power...!? Or something??" He backed up a bit more, 'till he was near a wall, and slowly began to turn.
"I'm just gonna get my bag, and leave. I don't know who you are, or what you are. I don't want to get involved. Not again." He said, as he reached for his bag.

Alex looked up at Devin with fearful eyes. "P- please!" she pleaded with him as she tried to push herself up, but quickly end up on the ground again. She cursed slightly as she tried to gather herself as much as she could. "Please don't go," she nearly begged as she looked at him. "I- I'm no trick," she cried as she finally pushed herself to her knees. "I- I might b- be a monster . . . b- but please," she cried as she looked at him. This was why she didn't want to tell him. This was why she wanted to keep it a secret. Alex looked down at the ground as she finally climbed to her feet. She waved slightly as her blood trickled down the side of her face from the cut on her forehead. She shakily moved to the side as she leaned up against one of the tables. Hanging her head as she stood there and fighting back her tears as best as she could, but finding that she failed at it miserably. "I- I'm sorry . . . I- I'm so v- very sorry . . . for everything I have done to you. Back then and now. I- If I was a better person . . . maybe things would have been different," she said as she pushed herself up straight.
Standing on shaky legs. She looked at him with a weak smile. "Please . . . please be safe. A- an I'm sorry . . . I w- wont bother you anymore," she said lightly as she turned to walk away. Her stomach growling slightly but she pushed the thought away. Stumbled slightly threw the tables as she tried her best to move away from him. To let him know that she wasn't going to bother him anymore. Maybe it was for the best. She didn't want to hurt him like she had her husband and son. She wanted him to be safe, and realizing that maybe without her here he was safer than with her by his side.

Devin watched her stand. He felt saddened, why? He didn't know why, he wanted to go to her for some odd reason. Who was she? Was she controlling him? He felt a tear streak down his face. Something was wrong. "Wait." He said aloud, so she could hear. "Are you the girl I dream about? Some good, some nightmares." He could feel it now, something was missing from his mind. It was like a huge chunk of a puzzle was missing.
Looking her up and down, he quickly rushed to her aide. "You are, aren't you?" He looked down at her briefly, and quickly wrapped his arm around her, to keep her from getting away. She was somewhat shaking, crying. He didn't know who she was, or why she was here. He felt his heart flutter again, and he looked down at her.
"Tell me, how do you know me? Just tell me. I feel as if... somethings missing. Tell me why I dream of a girl, but I can never see her face. I dream of kissing her, holding her. Growing old with her. What are these dreams?"He blinked for a second, he sounded stupid, asking her this. "Is it you? I don't know... My head hurts..." He held his head with the other arm, and pulled her closer with his right. "Why do I have these weird feelings for you, but I don't know who you are?"

Alex felt shocked, nearly terrified now that he was holding her. She didn't know what to do. Yet it felt so good to be held by him again. Slowly Alex brought her arms up to wrap around Devin. Her head resting against his chest as she did. Closing her eyes as she felt the rise and fall of his chest. How she missed him. She held him tightly, but not to tightly. "A long time ago we loved each other," she spoke lightly as she rubbed her head against his chest. "A long time ago we were happy together, but . . . but that all changed one day. You left and I thought you were dead. . . I . . . I just never knew," she cried as she held him tightly. "I- I'm so sorry . . . I'm sorry for everything," she cried as she gripped the back of his shirt tightly.
She looked up at him before pulling away from him. She turned away from him as she felt her tears. "I- I don't know if I'm the girl in your dreams . . . or if you met another along the way. Lord knows I have hurt you a lot in the past," she said lightly as she closed her eyes. "Maybe I should go . . . Just like these creatures there is another side to me . . . one that I can't always control." she smiled weakly as she looked back to him. "I'm a curse, and I've lived a cursed life from day one," she said as she turned to look away from him. "I'm sorry for everything I have done to you."
