"We... Loved eachother?" He couldn't grasp the feeling, he knew he was closed off from loving for a reason. She was that reason. He moved his arm around her, now both were around her. "I still can't remember who you are. I must of lost the memory after the long time in the hospital." He remembered the hospital, it was quite a nice place and they took care of him there. "The said they found me half dead, near here, actually. I woke up not knowing who I was for a few days then gradually began to remember."
He told her what had happened to him. Looking down, he put his hand underneath her chin and pulled her head up. "I need to see something." He brought his head down to her, and pressed his lips against hers. He didn't know how she'd react.

Alex was a bit taken back when he kissed her. Yet she went along with it. Her hands wrapping around him as he kissed her. The feeling of warmth and longing she had missed in the kiss. As she closed her eyes a very vivid memory popped into her head. Her eyes shot open as she pulled away from him shaking her head. She backed up shakily. "N- no I . . . I can't," she cried as a new wave of tears fell down her face. She couldn't forsake him with the same fate as her husband and son. "I . . . I can't do this," she said as she shook her head. "N- not to long ago . . . I . . . I killed my husband and son . . . I . . . I did it with my bare hands . . ." tears streaming down her cheek as she chocked on her sobs ". . . I ca- can't do that again . . . I - I'm nothing but a. . . a monster," she cried as she wrapped her arms around her. "I- I'm so sorry," she cried as she hung her head.

Devin looked at her, nothing. He had found out that stuff from his past set him off to remember who he was. It was quite funny how this kiss did nothing. Looking at her, he moved back to her. He moved closer, and sighed. "Monster or not... It doesn't matter. You're a person, and I believe who you say you are." He wrapped his arms around her. Nuzzling her gently, he spoke to her. "I dunno why, but I feel as if I don't want to leave you." He felt himself being a bit dramatic, so he stopped himself, but still hugged her.
"I'm sorry... For the kiss... I didn't know you were married once before... I have actually not been with anybody for around five to six years..." He said, as he rubbed her back gently. "Please don't cry anymore, Alex. I will remember you soon, it was the last thing I couldn't remember. It's how I got to the hospital, or what happened to me."

Alex shook her head as she pulled from him once more. She wanted to be in his arms, but she was scared. "I thought you were dead. Things happened, and then you never came back . . . I . . . I thought you were dead," she spoke with a quiver in her voice. She closed her eyes as she turned away. "Jimmy saved me, and we fell in love. Had to adopt, but . . . but not to long ago . . . I . . . I don't know what happened . . . I lost control . . . I couldn't control myself," she said as she felt her hot tears streaming down her face. "I a- attacked them . . . I- I killed them," she cried as she shook her head. Looking down at her hands as she gripped them tightly into a fist. Tight enough that her nails cut into her hands casing blood to surface. "I- I still c- can feel their b- blood on my hands," she cried. "I- I am a m- monster . . . I . . . I don't know what to do anymore," she said with a heavy sigh. She hung her head as she stood there.

Devin looked at her, and his heart fell to his stomach. He turned around, lifting the bag up again he began to walk away. "It isn't my place to try and get you to come with me. I shall leave you here then. Sorry that I brought those sad memories back to you." He turned a corner, and didn't know what she'd do. More than likely just sit down and curl up like she did when he found her.
He didn't want to leave, but he had no choice. His arms felt a little weak, and it still throbbed with pain. His head hurt quite a bit and he really didn't want to go. He kept walking, the entrance to the mall was just a few turns ahead, and Alex was just around the corner. He didn't stop, he just kept going. It was her choice as to what she wanted to do.

Alex listened to the footsteps as the died away. It wasn't his fault that he had these memories. She lived with these memories everyday of her life. She revisited them every time she closed her eyes. She lowered her head as she stood there, her hands dropping down to her side. The blood from her hands trickling to the ground. Her mind left in the past as she stood there. She was absent minded not even in her reality. There for she didn't even hear the foot steps, or even feel the ground as the large man looking creature that walked up behind her. Alex shook her head and as she turned around she was knocked back into several tables. She cried out as she hit the ground, and rolled to a stop on the ground. She pushed herself up as she stifled a cry. Looking to the creature . . . the off brand version on Nemesis. A failure just like her, but somehow managed to escape Umbrella's grasp.
The creature was rather easy to take down even for a human, but for some reason she just didn't have the energy to do so. As the creature reached down, and gripped her head tightly she didn't fight. She was tired of fighting, and she was nothing but trouble to those she knew. Her father had changed, but with what Umbrella had done to her she was nothing more than a hindrance to him. Tears streamed down her cheek as she hung in the grasp of the creature. Feeling it's grip tighten around her head. Feeling the tension causing her to scream out as she hung there. The urge to fight back, but she stopped herself. To die like this would probably make everything better. Then at least her husband and son could be put to rest with the thought of their killers death.

Hearing the tables crash, didn't effect him that much. He continued his strides towards the doors, when suddenly he heard Alex yell. Turning quickly, he jumped on a rack, standing on top of it he could see down the few aisles to see a huge man holding Alex. Without even thinking he jolted forward. He ran a-top the racks, some of them falling as he pushed off swiftly. Landing a knee to the face of the huge creature.
Pushing off he grabbed the shotgun from his back, quickly pumping it, he shot at the face of the creature. It was point-blank range and it blew the creatures face to bits. He screamed out in pure rage as he continued unloading rounds into the creatures body. Something took over him, it was odd but he began to remember everything. He remembered Alex, the police station, the Licker trying to pull her into the shaft. He remembered him being knocked out, and a helicopter, huge reptiles. His head was hurting, and pounding, he dropped the shotgun on the ground, and fell on top of the creature he had just killed. He was out like a light, the huge memory re-load did this, the first time he remembered most of his past, he was out for half a day. But this was a bit of a shorter memory.

Alex laid on the ground staring up at the ceiling. Blood practically smeared the whole right side of her face from the cut. She laid there panting heavily as she stared at the ceiling. The pain she was feeling wasn't going away. After a bit she finally rolled to the side and her eyes went wide as she seen that Devin was out. She climbed to her feet and stumbled to him. Checking him over to make sure that he was okay. She sighed heavily as she closed her eyes and leaned back on her heals. Her ears once more picking up on the shuffling of the undead within the mall. She looked around wondering if it was herself, and a creatures initial fear to leave those that were stronger than them alone, or if it was something else.
Leaning down she gathered up his belongings, and then picked him up in her arms. She cradled him close to her and then smiled lightly as she looked down at him. Kneeling down she pushed off the ground into a rather large jump. In doing so she hit the second level railing. Standing there as she looked back to the growing mob of undead. She walked down the hall until she found one of the larger stores. Slipping under the gate she used her foot to push it down the rest of the way to keep any unwanted creatures from entering. She walked further in until she was at the bedding area, and pushed all the stuff off of one of the makeshift beds. And then laid Devin down on it. She checked him over before wondering off to change her clothes and clean the blood off of her. When she wiped her forehead off she found that the cut had healed, along with the claw marks on her back.
Changing into a tight pair of jeans, and a spaghetti strap red shirt that hung a bit loosely on her. She put on a pair of slightly healed boots, and got a lose black long sleeve over shirt that helped take the chill from her. She had actually found some soft drinks and a few Candie bars. Not what she was wanting, but she was starving. Brining them back to where Devin was resting she set everything down, and started eating while she waited for him to wake up.

He felt himself being moved. Maybe he was dead, and going to heaven? His head pounded, but he couldn't open his eyes. He could feel and hear everything around him. Then he began to think, and memories came to mind. He felt the presence of Alex. He knew her, he wanted to wake up, just to see her again. It was as if he hadn't seen her at all. first his hand rose to his chest, to see if he was fine, then scoped around. His eyes widened quickly as he saw Alex. She was just as she was before. She looked so beautiful in the red shirt, but was covered by another thing. He quickly rose, getting to his feet. He was quick enough to where he didn't give her time to say much.
"Alex..." He didn't know what to say. What to do. He was hurt. She abandoned him... She left him for dead, and he was still able to love her. He missed her so much... It was so weird. It was like he was living his life without her, and now he had her. He rubbed her back gently, holding her so close. Rising his hand to her head, he ran his hand through it, feeling every single strand of hair run through his fingers. "Alex... It's really you...?" Tears streamed down his face. He didn't know what to do or say, he wanted to pull away, and just kiss her. She didn't want that, he knew because of how she pulled away before.
He knew she probably moved on. He missed her, and his head hurt, along with his heart. It hurt... He was so hurt, he was crying so hard. Alex, why did she leave him... Why didn't she look for him...? She moved on... "You married someone... Huh...? Killed him, I see..." He pulled away from the hug, holding his head down low, hiding his tears.

Alex felt as if she had been stabbed over and over again. A lump in her throat kept her from talking as she sat there staring at the ground. 'Killed him' those worsed were like daggers, and now all she wanted to do was run away. Yet she managed to keep from doing so. She just sat there with the bottle of water in one hand and a chocolate bar in the other. She just sat there staring at the ground. "Yes . . . yes I killed him," she spoke with a heavy tone. Closing her eyes as she sat there thinking . . . thinking of what to do. Weather to run away, or maybe even begging for an end. To end all this pain, and all the nightmares she had to live with. She sighed again as she leaned forward and sat the chocolate bar and the drink on the ground. Turning around to face Devin as she did.
"Yes . . . yes I did," she repeated as she looked up at him. Her eyes a bit more stern than before. "I killed him and my son," she said as she looked away from him. "Every night I try to sleep I can't. I keep seeing those images replay in my mind every night, and even sometimes when I'm awake. It's . . . it's just like I did it yesterday, but it's been a while since then." She closed her eyes and hung her head. "So much pain I've caused back then, and even now. So much death because of me, and yet I'm the one still alive," she said as she looked at him. "Each night I pray that it was me and not them. Each night I wish it was my death, but only to find that I still stand within this hellish world. I can't do anything right. Not then and not now," she said as she hung her head and turned away.

He turned away from her. His heart was heavy, his head was as well. He leaned forward, rubbing his eyes and sniffling some. He stood up, grabbing his things, and quickly stood up. Strapping the shotgun to his back he moved over to the exit. He didn't say anything to her, he passed her quickly. He left the place she was, and moved down towards the stairs to the first floor. His heart hurt him so bad, he breathed in silently, as he shuddered. Tears streamed down his face, and he didn't know what to do. He just wanted to leave, he had secretly been searching for her, and he didn't even know it.
Losing his memory was the worst thing that ever happened to him. He slammed his feet down the stairs, and was soon met by a few zombies trying to stumble up the stairs. He slammed his foot down, and jumped into the air. His foot landed on the head of the zombie and it snapped backwards. Yelling in anger, he pulled his five seveN out and shot the other zombie behind him in the head as he finally landed on the first floor.
"Damn you... Zombies, YOU f**kED MY LIFE!" He slammed his fist on the ground, as he was now kneeling. He quickly slammed his hand into a table, sending it to a rack nearby. He stood up, and kicked it as he turned towards the exit of the mall, and began walking towards it.

Alex just stood there glaring at the ground. Tears streaming down her face as she tried her best to figure out her place in this world. Closing her eyes as she stood there wondering if it was her part on this world to become that of which she hated. Shaking her head as she stood there her eyes opening as she glared at the ground. A faint shift to a red before she heard the voice.
"Why not become that of which you hate? That path seems to be where your leading yourself to begin with."
She hadn't hared it in a long time. Though the first time she heard it she remembered it quite well. It was when she was with Devin and at the police station. And not long after she was set on him being dead that the voice disappeared. And now it returned? She didn't understand it.
"I do not want to become a monster. I did not want to kill them," she said lightly as she sighed heavily.
"But you are a monster. Even the boy believes it. Why else would he leave you after finding you . . . after remembering you?"
"He has a lot on his plate, and it is probably for the best that he left. I still love him, I always have . . . I fear for the same outcome that I gave Jimmy and Andy," she said lightly.
"No matter what path you chose. You know it all ends the same. You are a creation from that bastard company. A monster, and in the end no monster ever lives happily. Jimmy and Andy's fate should be evidence of that."
"Shut up."
"Just saying."
Alex shook her head as she looked toward the gate that Devin had walked out of. "Fate or not. I just . . . I just want to . . . I just want to make sure something in my life stays alive," she said as she headed for the stairs. She reached the railing hearing everything being thrown around. She looked down at Devin. "Please don't go," she shouted. "I'm sorry . . . I'm so sorry for everything I have done to you . . . I . . . I have done terrible things in my life . . . and a monster doesn't deserve to be happy. I can see that now, but . . . but I just want to make sure one thing in my life is happy . . . I just want to make sure your safe. Please . . . if anything . . . please let me help you get out of this city," she begged.

Staring at the ground, he fell to his knees once more. Tears streamed down his face as he slammed his hand into the tiles below him.
'I can't have anything in my life. EVERYONE IS GONE... My family, my brother, the girl I loved...' He spoke to himself, so silent almost as if speaking in his mind but it was aloud. Why can't he have what he wanted? He just wanted to live regularly. He wanted to be able to be with a woman, and have kids, or just setlle down with her. Why couldn't he have that? Alex was the first girl he ever fell for, and everything was just falling apart.
She was able to move on, why couldn't he? It was because it was like she was only gone for a few minutes, because as soon as the memory kicked in, he saw her, and knew who she was. It was like she was never gone, but he knew she had abandoned him. He couldn't go with her now. Not after what he now remembered. He wanted to get rid of himself. Sighing lightly, he threw his pistol on the ground. The nearest zombie, he had to find it.
Moaning could be heard from down the aisle, and he ignored what he heard Alex shout down towards him. He grabbed the table and slung it backwards. His eyes were stricken red with anger. He brought his fist against a rack, toppling it over. He looked up at her, then towards the oncoming zombie.
"I didn't know what I was living for... Then one day I stumble upon it. Then, remembering what she had done to me, leaving me. I run away. I have nothing to live for now, Alex." Unstrapping his stap on his back he let the shotgun fall to the floor. A painful death would be a good one. He watched as the zombie came even closer now, just a few feet away. He turned to face the zombie, looking at it dead in it's eyes and sighed lightly. "I just don't care anymore..."

Alex's eyes grew wide as she realized what Devin was about to do. Her hands gripping the railing tightly as she could feel it cracking under her grip. The glass beneith the railing shattered raining down on the ground below.
"Look what you have driven him to do. Do you really think that you are protecting him?" the voice screamed in her head. "Do you think that by following him, by talking to him that everything is going to change. You are a monster, one of these creatures. You do not belong with the human race. Why else have you been trying to find your way back into Raccoon City. You wanted to be back among your kind."
"No . . . I wanted answers," she spoke in a rather harsh tone. Her eyes glaring at the site before her. With one push she was up on the railing over looking the first floor. With a swift jump she was flipping in the air and she landed right on top of the closest walker snapping it's neck as it hit the ground. She turned back to look at Devin. "Hate me . . . hate me all you want. Blame for for everything bad that has happened to you. Forsake me if you wish, but please. . . I beg you do not forsake your life. For so long I have thought you were dead, and yes I moved one. But a part of me has always been empty. Shallow if you will . . ." She reached out flipping another walker over her head before kneeling on it's chest and snapping it's neck. ". . . But I beg you. Please to not throw your life away. I will protect it even if I have to protect it from you," she growled as she looked at him.
She quickly gathered up his things. Using his shotgun to take down a couple of walkers, before grabbing his gun. She returned to him before gripping the front of his shirt, and jumping with him back to the second story. She pratically dragged him back into the store and threw him down on the ground. Walking back to the gate she shut it and once more secured it. Looking back to him she tossed his belongings on the ground before reaching down to him and pulling him to his feet. She placed the gun in his hand and held it up to her forehead. "If any life should be thrown away it should be mine. I was the one who put you threw hell . . . I was the one who put everyone threw hell. I shouldn't even be here. I should have died long ago, but here I stand. You will be doing yourself a favor, as well as all those who lost their lives due to me. All you have to do is pull the trigger. Pull the trigger and end it all right here and now."

Devin looked up as he was pulled back into the store. He looked long and hard as she put the gun in his hand. Quickly, he looked at her, then suddenly. He pulled the trigger. "It wasn't your time to die, no. It's mine." The gun clicked with a thud, but no bullets came out. It was emptied, he had emptied it when shooting at the zombie at the stairs. Staring at her, he moved his arm around her. Tears streaming down his face he peered into her eyes. "The Alex I knew... Doesn't want to die..." He looked at her lips, and dropped the gun. He pushed his lips unto hers. Her lips were so moist, so sweet. He didn't ever want to pull away. Alex was the only reason he was still alive, he closed his eyes, and he couldn't handle the kiss so much anymore. He wanted her forever, and she didn't want to be with him anymore... It hurt him so much.
