A long stretch of highway that leads off into the next state, via this road all of the survivors of Raccoon City used to exit the contaminated zone. Obviously the clumsyness of people lead to a bad traffic jam and the cars stopped moving, currently people are trapped in their vehicles while zombies pound on them; stragglers have bolted for the tree line either side of the highway, and slowly a chain of explosions are commencing from burning cars. What's left of this road is little to predict, but eventually it will be the highway to hell. Moving down here in a vehicle is close to impossible unless you have off road capabilities and can bypass everything, but still, you just shouldn't be going down this way all together. There's no reason to be entering Raccoon City.

Kodi was amazed on how far his bus had tumbled down the hillside next to Route 104. The vehicle had cleanly cut through trees and bushes into the small, dense patch of forest that laid next to the trail he was now on. Tire marks were cleanly visible on the ground—grass had been ripped out, and dirt was exposed. If anyone else were to have passed by, they would've thought probably a irresponsible, drunk lunatic had driven off the road after having too many drinks at a club. Of course, Kodi knew that wasn't the case. He still had his USP at his side—index finger on the trigger guard. There was still danger in the area; Kodi hadn't seen any sign of whatever broke in the bus on the way up the steep slope. He doubt it was gone. It was probably about somewhere, either on the road further back or down, or still in the forest that lied behind him. Kodi had kept sure to watch his back on his way up, even going as far as to train his aim at the patches of shadows where his vision was unable to see anything. After a quick survey of the area, Kodi decided to move on further along the road. He walked a bit faster than normal. He knew if he stood out in the cold longer than needed, his body would drop in temperature and he would face a much more bitter and unappealing time on his way toward Raccoon. Even if I do get there, I still have to find a hotel—look around probably many more blocks or miles before I even find one. Then when sun rises, I have to start searching for her. Hopefully someone at the college knows of her.Thirty minutes went by and not a single car had passed down the road. The air had also began to fogged. Within ten more minutes of walk, Kodi had reached the bus stop: a simple roofed bench that stood isolated from the part of the forest that laid behind it. Only a single street light illuminated the small shelter. To the side of it, the road ended and a dirt road began. From here on out, Kodi would have to waddle through a small section of the Arklay Mountains before he reached Raccoon City. He just hoped that he could get there safely and as quickly as possible before it turned fully dark. Kodi Angel now entering Dirt Path, Arklay Mountains, Outside of City.

:::20 minutes later Reigns was making his way down Route 104 in the Hummer, until he came upon a massive traffic jam. If it had been more than a light fog he would've drove right into it. Turning the Hummer to the left he drove down the side of Route 104 following the blip on his laptop until he reached the burnt out wreckage of the chopper the rest of his team had been flying in. Reigns stopped the Hummer, turned it off and got out taking the key and putting it in his pocket. Reigns walked up to the heavily burnt chopper seeing all of his team mates burnt to death. Some of their equipment had been ejected from the chopper before it burnt up. Reigns walked over to the nearest equipment case and opened it. Inside was a box of 30 freeze-dried meals, a case of 24 bottles of water and then he saw the Colonels Journal. Reigns picked it up along with the meals and water, then headed back to the Hummer. He tossed the meals and water into the back seat and the journal in the front passenger seat. Just as he was about to head back to the chopper when he heard a light rustle in the grass behind him. In on motion he spun around pulling the machete from its sleeve on his leg with his left hand, and his 9mm Glock from its holster with his right. There about 20 feet from him was a dog, skin hanging from its body staring at him as if he was it's next meal. Reigns got a grin on his face and put his Glock back in it's holster.::::
Reigns] "you want to play boy, c'mon let see if you can play dead."
:::Reigns switched the machete to his right hand just as the dog ran toward him and lunged at his chest. Reigns side stepped and spun to the right bringing the machete around with a level swing taking the dogs head clean off. The dogs head and body slammed into the side of the Hummer leaving blood all over the drivers door. Reigns wiped the blood off the machete with the grass and slid it back into its sleeve. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it as he walked up to the Hummer, got in and started it. Reigns rolled down the window and looked down at the dog flicking ashes on it. Then he put the Hummer in gear.:::
Reigns] "Good boy."
:::Reigns turned the Hummer around and headed back towards Raccoon City. He reached down turning the two way radio to Scan-mode, and headed towards a spot to gather his thoughts on his mission.:::
**Reigns is now in the Raccoon City :: East Side :: Apple Inn**

Kyle ran out of breath and slowed down once he reached the road. He bent over, hands on his knees, and breathed heavily. He hadn't stopped to walk for awhile.
Looking over his shoulder, he didn't see anyone. He decided to sit down and wait. He checked his ammo. 5 shots still left in the chamber. He decided not to reload, waste his time. He waited for the others to catch up.

Luigi panting out of breathe from running lost track of the man infront of him he new he had to be around somewhere close. He sat on a nearby rock to catch his breathe. He then heard a noice coming from a nearby bush. He raised his rifle and slowly walked over to the bush. He parted away the brush with his right hand to see a manifested dog feasting off of a little girl "Oh sick b*sta*d! what the hell is that" Luigi said to himself . He then slowly pulled out his silencer and tripod mount for his G36c and got it set up. He then fire 4 rounds into the creatures skull putting it down for the count. He then relized that around the corner from this was the man he was following. Luigi stood up checked his ammo and continued to walk to the man "Hey I made it the rest should be here soon, are you ok?" Luigi said to the man as he caught up with him.

Kyle looked at the man who just came running up. "Yeah, I'm good. Where are those other guys?" Kyle scratched his head looking around.

Sorry friend, but I need to get Richards story going somewheres else.
Richard followed Nyroc along the high road, the place was quiet, and his lets were starting to drag him down. As he slowed down, he crouched onto the side of the road, and then breathed heavily. "Hey... I hate to... Be a burdon... But just... Wait up a sec..." After resting for a couple of minuits, Richard got back up onto his two feet, and then looked far up the road. He could see a number of different vehicles scattered around, the truck would have to be nearby. He and Nyroc walked further down the road, and then saw the grey pickup truck parked onto the side. The young soldier had ran over to the drivers side, and Richard slowely walked to the tail end, where the gas tank was. Unscrewing it, he poured in as much gas as he could to fill it, and then threw the empty can into the back. "Hey... Ill only slow you down... You get as far away from here was you can..."
Richard walked back toward the highway, ignoring all calls that Nyroc has made to try and stop him. But the truth was, he was too old for action, he needed to be alone. That was, he wouldnt slow anyone down...

She had to stop, driving almost non-stop for almost 18 hours and she still felt as if her heart was lodged in her throat. Pain burned through her, remembering the last words Izzy had spoken before they had been attacked. The scream that had rent the air apart like a serrated blade still echoed in her mind. She wanted to scream and let out everything she had run from. Was she really running away? Or was she running to something even worse? Something told her she should turn back. It had been a while not that she had to ride her bike off the highway. The cars, half of them either torched or abandoned were clogging the whole highway. She knew herself enough that if she couldn’t find any obvious way into the city or find a place where a military camp would be she would leave for some place safe. As much as she loved her brother, she didn’t have a death wish.
18 Hours Earlier
There was a knock at the small room Raelynn kept on the base camp just outside of Washington “Rae!! Rae! Let me in quickly!” It was Izzy, she sounded panicked.
Raelynn opened the door but she was pushed out of the way by her friend, Izzy, she was covered in blood, breathing heavily and a large gun in her hands. “P-pack. Your… stuff.” she spoke each word between jagged breathes.
Raelynn didn’t have to look outside to know the inevitable had happened, immediately she felt the panic that had to be coursing through Izzy. Raelynn began to hurry around the small room packing a backpack full of her belongings “When?” asked softly, noticing her hands had begun to shake uncontrollably.
“Doesn’t. Matter. Listen to. Me.” Izzy leaned on the door her gun gripped between white knuckles.
“Your brother, he… he was transferred,”
“WHAT?! Why didn’t you tell me before!” Raelynn’s turned to Izzy, her eyes ablaze. “I thought he was DEAD!” she screamed at Izzy.
“SH! I couldn’t tell you! You know how confidentiality works here. Don’t ask don’t tell!” Izzy gritted her teeth, putting a finger up to silence her friend for a moment. “There is someone on the other side of the door.” she whispered. “Be very quiet. Finish packing. You need to head to Raccoon City. That is where he went.”
Raelynn sculpted features clenched, accenting her tanned cheek bones. Her hands fiddled with her Kevlar motorcycle jacket, it took her longer to put it on then it normally would have. After gearing herself up, gloves on her hands and her backpack securely attacked to her back she held one gun in her hand, the gun she had purchased a couple years ago.
“You know how to sue that thing?” Izzy questioned Raelynn with doubt.
Raelynn nodded once.
“Good.” Izzy kicked open the door shoving back a recently turned man that had been an acquaintance to both Izzy and Raelynn. It had been a couple months since Raelynn had actually used her guns but it was like riding a bike to her after so many years of practice. Raising the gun, she pulled the trigger, the bullet pierced the thing in the left eye. It’s body collapsed and Raelynn’s grim expression never faltered.
“Lets go.” Raelynn and Izzy both jogged out of the building with little incident. Everything was happening all at once. Those left standing alive were fighting a large horde, trying to get everyone out before abandoning the camp. Unfortunately the living were loosing.
As both women made it to the parking lot, most of the vehicles were either gone or had been torched. The tarp covering Raelynn’s motorcycle was untouched, she would breath a sigh of relief once she was out of here. “Izzy? Come with me.”
Raelynn glanced behind her to see Izzy no where in sight. “s***!” Raelynn muttered to herself, she didn’t want to but she retraced her steps. Izzy was laying on the ground behind one of the hummers “IZZY!” Raelynn cried out as she saw her friend, pale and coughing up blood. There was a zombie laying about a foot from her, several bullets had taken off half it’s face. That had to have been Izzy’s work.
“You can’t… Izzy. Come on!”
Izzy shook her head “Go and take…” she pulled a folded map out of her pocket and handed it to Raelynn. “…this.”
Raelynn could feel the tears welling in her eyes. “Okay… okay…” she breathed deeply. “We can fix you up once we got out of here.” Raelynn coxed Izzy but her friend shook her head.
“No. I was bitten. Just go.”
Present Time
She was on Route 104, this led into Raccoon City but the place was completely on lock down. Where could he be? Stopping about 5 feet from the tree line that hugged the high way, Raelynn needed to take a short rest. She swung her leg around so that she was standing beside her bike, she took her helmet off her head and placed it on the seat of her bike. Taking a piece of paper from her pocket she began to unfold it. It was, a map. The map Izzy had given to her before Raelynn had to leave everything behind.
“I hope you were right Izzy.” Raelynn murmured, she swallowed involuntarily, the pain of her friend dying like that so recently still made her throat burn.

What was he doing? Leaving the city, leaving everyone behind, it was stupid. But things changed, everyone had split apart. They used to be a team, but now everything just changed. One thing that stumped himself was how he could leave Rey all alone, why did he leave Raccoon City? Going back to Arklay seemed like his best idea, and yet he wasnt listening to himself. Joey just wanted to get away from everything, this was the only way, or so he thought.
Passing car after car, checking in the windows to see if anyone was still alive, Joey just gave up completely. They were all dead, or gone, only the vehicles remained. The odd time hed find one of the undead still inside, clawing to get out, but he left it be. A larger transfer truck was parked across the road infront of him, blocking the path. Chances are nobody would be coming back to Raccoon City, but if they did, they would need another way in. Unless they had a smaller vehicle, or a truck, either one. Jumping on top of a car, Joey then leaped forward, grabbing the top of the cargo hold. Looking far down the highway, there seemed to be nothing for a good while. But then he heard the sound of a running motor, as he jumped down from the side, landing on the hood of another vehicle.
Joey then began to move toward the sound, jumping from car to car. As it stopped, he pressed forward, knowing that someone was there, as crazy as it was. He crouched ontop of a red toyota, and pulled out his rife, aiming through the scope. Far off in the distance, he saw a woman by a motocycle, but she looked alive and well. Climbing from the hood onto the roof, Joey held his rifle in one arm, and then swung with other into the air, but not calling out.

Raelynn stupidly unaware of her surroundings. That wasn’t normally like her. She laid the map out on the ground in front of her, she was facing the highway, kneeling on the ground out in front of the map and tracing lines with her fingers. The map was marked up with Izzy’s hand writing around makeshift circles. Each one had a few short words, depicting possible camp locations just outside the walls of Raccoon City. The last marking was an arrow that pointed off the map and read ‘Arklay Mountain’.
“I’ll have to check around the city first.” Raelynn murmured softly to herself.
The sharp sound of metal contracting disturbed her for a moment, she jumped up from her kneeling position and turned in a circle slowly. Her own gun seemed to appear in her hands almost magically, the involuntarily movement of slipping the gun from her jacket was second nature to her now that half the time she didn’t realize it was in her hand until she felt the cool metal beginning to warm up.
“s***, common. I am going to have a heart attack…” she took three deep breathes.
Raelynn believed she saw a movement on the highway from a distance but she couldn’t be sure. “I must have been seeing things.“ Keeping the gun in her hand she picked up the map and began to fold it against her leg, she began to shake again. She wanted to forget what was happening, she wanted to find a safe place and drown in ignorance. Yet here she was where it all began so many years ago and it was still one of the bigger infected areas. Though she was sure not as big as Washington.
Raelynn slipped the map into her jacket pocket and turned to check the time on her bike, she would have to take a short rest. She wouldn’t sleep, she couldn’t take that sort of risk but she would rest her legs and watch the high way.

"No response... Thats never a good sign..." Joey saw that there was more of a gap between the traffic now, he would be able to contenue on the road now, instead of above the cars. Crouching between two vehicles, he looked far long and steady toward the womans location. Tilting his head to see where the road would get bumpy, he noticed that it was pretty much alright. Then he quickly jogged through the cars, sliding and leaping his way toward the womans location, but keeping himself out of veiw incase something was wrong. She could be infected, and maybe a little but overprotective of herself, and all in all, trigger happy.
But thinking possitively, Joey made his way around the cars, and off to the side. Finally getting around to her location, he then walked closer, keeping slow, but gradually moving normally. She looked fine from his angle, appearing to only be focused on a map spead across the ground. As he got closer, he saw the nice, skinny motorcycle. It would be able to get around most of the cars, if not, get around the sides pretty easily. Joey spoke calmly, not wanting to spook the woman too much. "You shouldnt have much problem getting into Raccoon City with your bike..."

With a sharp gasp Raelynn pointed the gun at the voice, how could not have heard him? Was she going deaf, or was she just that unaware. “Gees! Sneaking up on a person like that can get you killed!” she spoke in a highly irate voice. The hand that grasped the gun was white knuckled and shaking ever so slightly but her finger was far from the trigger.
“I don’t think I will be going into the city…” she trailed off, leaving the rest of the sentence unspoken. -Unless of course there was solid proof her brother had gone into the city.- But that was highly unlikely. Finding any proof of her brother around here, that might just take forever.
Raelynn’s other hand was placed just above her heart as if to calm the racing beat. “Was that you? Over there?” she motioned with her head towards where she had heard the sound of metal groaning on the highway.

Joey just watched as the woman aimed the gun at her, it wouldnt be the first time, probably why he wasnt so afraid. But as things calmed down a little, she mentioned that he wasnt going to Raccoon City, seemed a little coincidential. Neither was he. Looking back toward the larger semi that occupied the road far ahead, where the woman was motioning. "Yeah... The whole area seems pretty empty..." Joey aimed his rifle back in the other direction, it was nothing but emptyness for a good mile, or at least until the turn.
Finally putting the .22 away in his back sling, he looked back in the direction he came from his own eyes, Arklay wasnt much further, there was a turnoff he could take. But there was never any sense on two lone survivers going off on their own, so he wanted to keep with the woman. Taking a look at the positon of the gun in her hands, she seemed to hold it with confidence. But she obviously had no military training, it was rather simple, the basic control of a firearm. Civilians had decent training from expirence, but nothing compared to being taught. Looking at the woman, Joey spoke. "Theres a reason your here, nobody ever comes back to Raccoon City... Names Joey, you looking for a tour guide?" He grinned, but then looked down the highway with profession in his eyes.
