Raine hung up her phone and put it in her pocket. She looked at Logan and spoke quietly, ''I'll be back eventually... i have to take care of something.'' Logan nodded as Raine made her way over to the stairs, she placed her gun on the bottom of the steps and started her way up slowly. She didn't want to be armed when she saw Joey, she actually wanted to hear what he had to say.
As she neared the top, she looked around for the correct room, it wasn't hard to find really since it was the only door that was closed. Raine walked over to the door and slowly turned the knob opening the door fully. She couldn't see anything inside but a nicely lit window over looking the infected streets. Not such a nice view now but at one point it probably was.
Raine walked over to the window and looked outside, waiting for Joey to come out of his hiding place. ''I'm here...'' She spoke quietly without taking her eyes off the trees outside blowing in the wind.

When Joey heard someone enter the room, he held his breath, and waited to find out what was going to happen next. Would the closet door fling up, and hed be sprung into another fight? Would she be surprising him for when he opened up? The seconds were his most paranoid in the time he had survived in Raccoon City. The infected were spine chilling, but he was more than ready to kill any amount of them without fear of regret. However, the tension between Raine and him was filling up, almost ready to burst. Just when his mind flashed several times over, replaying situations, he heard Raines voice. In that moment, he exhaled his breath, and slowley pulled his hand toward the gun on his side, as he pushed up the closet door.
Seeing the woman facing away from his, Joeys hand left his side, and just stood in the center of the room waiting for something to happen. After a good five seconds, which seemed a lot longer then it actually was, he spoke out in a rough voice. "What do you have to gain by doing this? The satisfaction of killing me isnt going to change the world, nor change the direction its going. But if I had ever done something so wrong in my lifetime enough to have you at my throat, then I guess I would have done something to deserve it..." His words were cold for even himself to hear, the surreality of the situation was enough to change everything between two people. But this was where Joey was stubburn. Nothing would ever change. "...And If it makes you happy... Thats all I ever wanted."

Raine continued to stare out the window as she listened to every word Joey said. She watched as a horde of about 10 to 15 zombies attacked a house down the street and she smiled a bit as she saw a woman running around screaming outside as the undead closed in on her.
Raine laughed quietly to herself, sometimes she was amused by others misfortune. She turned around slowly to look at Joey, she didn't want to turn too fast and risk him shooting her. She looked down for a moment before looking into his eyes, trying to control her own from changing and scaring him away. ''I have nothing to gain by killing you. There is something wrong with me and i cant figure out what it is. Every time your name is mentioned... i get so angry.'' Raine knew something was causing her to have these feelings toward Joey, and this was something she couldn't control on her own. It was almost like someone was hitting a button every time she was around him, or heard his name.
Raine felt that same feeling coming back and she turned away from him again. ''I'm sorry... i don't know whats happening. Please don't hate me for this, you know me and you know how i am. I never intentionally wanted to hurt you... and i still don't.'' Raine was sincere in everything she was saying, but only Joey could make the decision on if he still wanted to be around her and risk his life...

Joey was aching, hoping, that Raine wouldnt turn around and do something she would regret on the inside. But he knew something was wrong, and now he knew that she was well aware of this. But this didnt change anything. His feelings were still the same, and if fighting for his life was the only way to stay next to this woman, then it would be him against the world to keep it that way. Call him stupid, a fool, but thats never been far from the truth anyway. Joey watched her, her eyes changing color, but Raine trying to hold back.
"I Know who you are... And I know what your capable of..." Joey moved forward, and grabbed Raines wrist, holding onto it quickly. But before he could move, his grip was overpowered, and was pushed backwards by an incredibly forceful thrust. Being slammed into the wall, Joey recovered, and drew his hand back, throwing a fist right afterward. The questionable attack came to an abrupt stop when his hand was caught, as he felt a tight pressure on his palm. It was an instinct, Raine was much too strong compared to Joey, but the both of them were well aware of this.
"Do you know how many people ive killed, just to save us?" Joey remembered whem Jonathan had the both of them under lockdown inside his own home in the Arklay Mountains. He was the one that fought back in the first place, he started all of this. Fifteen soldiers were no match for his raw will ensure that him and the ones he cared about survived. He was labled as the enemy after that outburst, a personal enemy to the man. Joey was ready to do whatever he had to do from that point forward.
Finally, after holding himself up against the wall, Joey placed both of his hands on the bottem of his goody, and then pulled it up and over his head. As he tossed it to the floor, the beige sleeveless shirt he wore still had a good amount of rips and tears in it from a certain time in long forgotten history. "The pain and suffering ive lived through, to keep you next to me. Underneith this shirt is more then enough proof. But the scars remind us that the past is real, that we cant run from it. Do you see me running from you?"
~~~
Logan heard the loud thump from upstairs, but screams from outside the house were even louder, and his attention was cast toward the street. A woman was being chased by a large group of infected, but there was no use in trying to help. By the time he had even gotten out of the doorway it wouldve been too late, and their own cover wouldve been blown. Aside from that, Logan noticed that Lisa was getting a little worried about Raine being upstairs for so long. He himself knew that her business was he business, and he didnt want to seem like a total bother by checking on her. But for Lisas sake, it seemed like the best idea. Moving to the bottem of the stairs, Logan looked up into the vaugely sunlit hallway, and called out within the house in a moderate tone. "Not getting that fine ass into too much trouble, I hope. What did you find up there?"
Raine had to push him away, even when he swung at her she didn't move. Although all her anger was surfacing, she had to hold back and train herself to control it. Joey was the only man in her life that stood by her no matter what she did, and he was still there through every stupid decision she made.
Raine fought back tears as Joey spoke, remembering the night she took a knife to various parts of his body. She was reminded of this every time she looked at the spot on his neck where she sliced it. It killed her to do it then, only because she did it to please Jonathan. Now she cant control her urges to attack him and that irritated her to not be in control of something like that. Raine just had to keep her guard up, because anything that anyone said could set her off if it brings up a bad memory.
''Why aren't you running from me? After everything I've put you through...and done to you...why? I'm a horrible person and i don't deserve to still have you by my side.''
After saying what she had to say, she heard Logan downstairs calling up to her, and she smiled briefly. ''Every thing's fine Logan..I'll be right down.'' She looked back at Joey and waited for him to reply, as she waited she just stared at him and wondered how he could be so calm around her knowing her temper.
Logan shook his head, what the hell would this woman be doing, anyways? Looking over at Lisa, she gave him a look that let him know maybe it was something personal. A photograph of an earlier memory, something still kicking around in her mind, something these people who wernt so psychotic as he was still felt for. Maybe it was coming catching up with her, who really knew, and who really cared. So long as they got out of the end of the world situation in one piece, nothing else really matters anymore after that.
Just then, there was a loud bang at the window, and instead of jumping in his boots, Logan drew up the steel pipe in a very hostile manner. One of the infected from outside were starting to bang on the glass, pressing its rotten, blood ridden mouth into it as if trying to feast. Just watching it made him sick inside, those son of a guns annoyed him the most, the stupid ones. "Ill give you something to munch on, a$$hole!" Rushing forward, Logan put it boot through the window, knocking the undead onto the ground. As it got back up, he drove the pipe into its mouth, and pry it up into its brain, then watched it slide off back onto the ground motionless. More of them were coming, Raine had better hurry up.
~~~
Joey began to put his hoody back on over himself, feeling a bit less exposed to the air now. There were some skelletons in his closet too, a lot of which Raine knew nothing about. Without giving any thought to look outside and see the infected, Joey retained his serious face, and spoke directly to her once again. "Its easy growing up with it in your life, you tend to learn how to handle it from a young age. Messes with a persons head, makes them have mixed feelings about the world. Ive known you at least ten years now, and its still hard to believe theres still so much you dont know about me..."
Finally, Joey heard the glass breaking downstairs, and then walked passed Raine and over to the window. He saw the infected starting to gather, and knew they didnt have much time before even the backside of the house would be flooding with them as well. Joey had more then enough ammunition to survive on the streets until they found another place to stay, darkness was rolling in awefully fast. "...We can talk about that another time, we have to get out of here. Logan and Lisa are with you, right? Lets keep things quiet, and all four of us find someplace safer." Walking over to the door, Joey nodded toward the hallway, letting Raine take lead.

Raine suppressed any anger she was feeling and nodded in agreement. The four of them would find a safer place to hide since this house was now the center of attention. ''Ok we can discuss things later on. Let's go.'' Raine walked out of the room lightly brushing Joey's arm as she past him. She walked down the stairs to the dimly lit hallway leading to the living room and saw Logan pushing a bookshelf in front of a broken window. Raine could hear the shuffling of the undead outside but they weren't close enough yet. But regardless of how close they were, the group still had to find another place to go.
''Look who i found upstairs...hiding in a closet.'' Raine said as she motioned to Joey. ''He'll be tagging along with us for awhile. No sense in leaving him behind.'' Raine just had to control herself and hope that nothing set her anger off.
It was true, her and Joey did have a decent past, which is part of the reason why she couldn't leave him behind. Then there was also the bad times when she pretended to kill him for someone else's satisfaction. Now with the issues going on inside her head, at times she wants to kill him. Raine hated to point fingers at people without having proof, but she had an idea of what was going on. The only problem is, the one person she loved, she was forced to hate, and the person she couldn't stand, she was forced to get along with. Turning to Logan she smiled briefly, ''Where do you think we should go? The zombies obviously know we're here, so we need to think of something fast and we have to do it now.'' Raine grabbed her gun from the stairs and holstered it behind her back in the waistband of her jeans, waiting for Logan to make a decision.

Joey felt Raine brush up against him as she left the room. He could sense the buildup of anger inside of her, it was almost radiating from her body. It was clear in her eyes, when they turned red, he was used to this. But after following her, Joey was well aware of what he was getting himself into, especially with Logan who would more than likely want him to explain himself. As he followed after Raine, he slowley walked down the steps, listening to her speak about how he was going to be coming with them. He looked at Logan, noticing that he wasnt very interested in him at the moment. Joey wasnt bothered by this, he only wanted everyone to get out of here, and get somewheres where they could all sit and talk.
"...Yeah, alright. Starlight Road is obviously overrun. Maybe we should try for Sunset Hills, it shouldnt be as f*cked up as it is here. We find a decent house, barricade it up, and then make a plan of action. Even im not stupid enough to just keep on going without thinking straight..." The last bit of Logans sentence was spoken nearly directly to Joey, and in a very harsh way. Joey looked out the window at the oncoming infected, and then looked at Raine. "Then lets get out of here."
[Joey, Logan, Lisa, and Raine are now in Sunset Hills]

Allister's latest tests were finished. Once again they proved, unenlightening. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed. His research had not been going so well. Other then sunlight or the cold, he had not been able to find anything that slowed the virus's progression, let alone reverse it. Discouraged, he shut down his laptop and packed up his equipment. He replaced the full backpack on his back and picked up his rifle from the floor. He did a quick check of the barrel to make sure there was no buildup and then slung it on his back.
Standing, Allister drew his desert eagle. He walked to he barricaded appartment door and removed all of the blockage. He then pressed his ear to the door. Hearing nothing he slowly opened it and scanned he hallway. It appeared clear. Stepping into the hall he once again found the staircase. Climbing down cautiously, he pointed his gun at every corner. After what felt like an eternity, Allister reached the ground floor. He quickly peaked his head out to assess the situation. There were three walkers in the hall, apparently having wandered in through the door he had kicked in several hours before. He readied his hand gun and spun around the corner. He aimed to the left and managed two quick headshots, the product of all his experience in the army rangers. Then turning to the right he took aim, but stopped. The walker near the entrance door had not even turned around. In fact it was leaving the building. Allister picked up a piece of glass from the floor and threw it at the walker, not sure what to make of the situation. The walker stopped turned around, and apparently noticed him for the first time.
"Ah." Allister said "Deaf." Allister placed a round into the creature's skull and walked past it through the door. He surveyed the area. There were a few figures here and there, but in general, this portion of starlight road was quiet. He walked quietly into the street. Staying low behind the cars on the street he crept down the sidewalk attempting to remain hidden. Eventually, Allister came to a group of houses.
"This looks like a good spot." he said to himself. Allister approached one of the houses and went around to the backyard. There he looked around for a ladder. Not finding one, he scanned the row of backyards to his left. Two houses down, he spotted a large shed. Quickly jumping over the impeding fences he reached the backyard. Approaching the shed he knocked twice on the door. He was met with a low gurgle. Allister rolled his eyes, nodded, and drew his handgun. He kicked in the door and stepped back. Inside was a zombie male, mid 30's. Recovering from the impact of the door it rushed him. Side stepping it, Allister drew his nightstick. He cocked his arm back and then swung, catching the zombie in the right temple as it turned.
The zombie wen down and didn't move. Allister knew that the blow probably would have been sufficient, but had learned the hard way not to take that chance. He took aim with his desert eagle and put a round into the back of the creature's skull. Satisfied, he turned to the shed. Walking inside, he found what he was looking for. Replacing his handgun in its holster, Allister took the large ladder down from the rack. He took it out of the shed and brought it to the house. Then, he extended it so that it reached the roof of the two story building. He climbed the ladder halfway and tied the extension rope to the two halves of the ladder, makin it unable to extend or retract. Reaching the roof, Allister stepped off the ladder and pulled it up behind him. The roof only had a low grade slope so it was easy to stand on. Allister walked to the front of the building and looked out on the street. Still quiet. He then removed his rifle and backpack and sat them down next to him. Sitting down himself, Allister removed his handgun from it's holster and took out the clip. Unzipping one of the front pouches on his bag he withdrew several shells. Using them he reloaded the clip, replaced it in the gun, and reholstered it. Allister then grabbed his rifle and laid down on the roof. Drawing the binoculars from his vest, he began to survey the street. Here allister would wait for several hours until he found his next specimen to research.

Elizabeth was assigned with the capture of a Former Umbrella Scientist. Tricell wanted his research on the T-Virus, so they assigned Elizabeth to the task. Elizabeth walked from an Large Company building to Starlight Road Residence. She snuck through the Street, hiding behind Destroyed Cars, watching for the Scientist. She knew he was a Sniper, so she had a disadvantage if he saw her. But then she spotted someone using her Night Vision Goggles, she saw a man on a roof with a Sniper Rifle. It was him, so she stayed behind the cars, and reached a alleyway. Elizabeth climbed through a broken window, and started to creep slowly through the building, trying to avoid the Snipers Sight. After she reached the other side of the Building, she went up some stairs and reached the roof. Then opened the door, quietly she walked outside crouching down to avoid the Sniper, Liz was across the street from the Target. She hooked onto a Wire, and went across, smashing through a window, she was most likely known by the Enemy.
Elizabeth ran all the way up to Roof and bursted through the Roof Door...

Allister had been on the roof for two hours, with little activity coming his way. He was starting to get a bit stiff but all of his sniper training allowed him to block this out. He surveyed the street again with his binoculars. To the far left he noticed a slight movement. Watching closely he saw a figure slinking behind the cars on the opposite side of the street.
"What the hell?" Allister said to himself. "Its not moving like a zombie. Body structure appears female." Allister watched the girl move with the precision of a trained professional. As she got closer he noticed she was wearing black clothing, a black combat vest, and her weapons holstered in a very non civilian way. Allister began to grow suspicious. The girl appeared to be trying to avoid his sight, and to anyone but a trained sniper she would have done just that.
The girl entered a building directly in front of Allister. He put away his binoculars and switched to the scope of his rifle. He caught slight glimpses of her climbing through the building. Then, he lost sight of her. Looking around he suddenly caught sight of her clipping to a wire and sliding directly towards him. Realization dawned on Allister as the girl crashed throuh a window underneath him.
"Oh s***." he breathed. Tricell had been after him for some time, due to his work with the viruses that contributed to the current state of things. His girl was obviously a trained agent sent for him.
Allister stood quickly and slung his rifle on his back. He ran to the edge of he roof. Peering over he saw a window and ran to it. He dropped of the roof, grabbing the lip, and swinging through the window just as he heard the roof door burst open. He rolled inside and quickly got to his feet. Finding the staircase he bolted downstairs and dove out the nearest window. Allister ran to the back of the house and vaulted he fence. He looked around noticing he was in an alley. He ran several houses down and vaulted another fence. He ran across the street down the alley of another building and went prone behind a trash can. Unslinging his rifle he aimed forwards and waited.

Pacing herself down the street, a woman had been scoping the area looking into the face of her wrist watch and then peering up at the night sky. It had been cloudy out, masking the moonlight from her sight. She sighed and glanced back and fourth to ensure there were no potential threats around. Thankfully the area had been clear save for some pesky crows that circled a carcass nearby.
Everything had seemed calm enough, that is until she spotted something darting into an alleyway further up ahead. She was positive it wasn't a corpse, it was too fast and seemd to have perfect coordination. It was a man.
"Well now..." she began. "What do we have here...?" she finished, voice below a whisper as she strolled ahead cautiosly. She pulled her handgun from beneath her arm holster and carefully approached the corner of the alley. The man had been tucked away in the darkness, probably hiding around the dumpsters. She pressed her back against the wall and leaned her head back.
"What's the rush, big guy?" she asked aloud. "I ain't gonna bite ya."

Allister hadn't even been waiting a minute when he heard someone approach. They crept up to the corner of the alley and stopped. When a female voice addressed him, he took aim and fired a warning shot down the alley.
"What do you want with me?" he shouted. Then it dawned on him that no matter how fast the Tricell agent was she couldn't have located him that quickly. Rethinking the situation he spoke again.
"On second thought I have two questions. One are you the one that's been tracking me? If not do you see someone dressed in black approaching? Forgive my rudeness but I can take no chances. Please answer my questions and do not turn the corner. If you do the next shot will not be a warning."
Allister silently cursed himself. If this person was not the tricell agent his first shot would have revealed his position. He took aim for the end of the alley and waited for a response.

Once the shot rung, Jay hadn't flinched but instead glanced over at the pierced dumpster ways away from her. She raised a brow and laughed lowly. This guy was either insane or extremely jumpy. Once he asked about the person in black, she took the time to look down at her clothing. Her clothing was all black but she'd never seen the man before in her life. Then again, she hadn't seen anyone living in about a year or so.
"Well, I'm wearing black but I doubt you're talking about me. I don't hunt anymore, that was before the world went to s***," she replied, looking around. She hadn't seen anyone nearby and she was positive noone would ever slip pass her.
"I don't see anyone around. You must be pretty important if you're this panicky."

Allister thought about what the girl said. Deciding that he had no other choice he decided to give her a chance.
"Ok, once again forgive my rudeness but there is someone looking for me and I need to play it safe. I know you are probably armed and I'm not so crazy as to ask you to relinquish your weapon in this place, but if you would please keep it holstered and slowly turn the corner I would appreciate it. I just want to get a look at you."
Allister removed his finger from the trigger of his rifle, but kept his eye on the scope and the scope pointed down the alley. There he waited for the unknown girl to respond.
