July was close enough to the group to see the woman signal at her to go away, but the girl ignored it. Why should she have to obey the commands of somebody she didn't work for? The command simply went unanswered. She could have tried to pick a fight or aim her handgun at the woman, but there wasn't any point in doing so.
By the time she got close enough to the group but still a good five feet away from them, July was able to take a good look at them. They all were bigger and older than she was, some more than others, and the way they were talking amongst themselves, they seemed to be normal people as opposed to the monsters that wandered the streets. She still said nothing and her eyes wandered from person to person to find something that could be of good use to take. Finding nothing, she turned her head away from the group and looked down the streets.
Now, where the hell am I supposed to go next?

Allister was tempted that was for sure. The scientist in him was shouting, "Go for it! You'll get to work in a nice clean lab again! Do it!" It did seem like a good deal. He would get both protection, and all of the facilities he could possibly need to quickly manufacture a cure. Then, he thought about what Jay said. Would they really shoot me for my research? Could they just be using me? The trained army ranger in Allister took control of the situation. He smiled and shook his head.
"Well gentlemen, General Brezhnev, you offer a very tempting deal, and I am almost enticed to take it. However, I am afraid I will have to decline your offer. Honestly, I like doing open research on the streets. It keeps me in shape." Allister laughed to himself. "I don't want to be cooped up in a nice, clean, safe lab somewhere. What fun would that be? Most of all though, and please I ask you to understand, I am very weary of sharing my research with anyone that I am not well acquainted with. I just don't want a repeat of Umbrella. Finally you gentlemen seem to have good intentions and I can understand where you're coming from, but when you speak, you do something and I don't think you even realize it. You always speak of doing everything for mother Russia. That kind of nationalism is good in some cases, but I'm afraid it can lead to rash decisions, in much the same way that Umbrella made their decisions. Let me put it this way, when, or if, I develop a cure, you gentlemen will be the first to know about it, but for the time being, I will have to respectfully decline your offer."
Allister paused and took a deep breath. He was satisfied that he got his point across without being offensive. He glanced to Jay, and noticed someone new standing there. It was a small girl. He smiled to her. Turning back to General Brezhnev, Allister crossed his arms. He hoped the general would understand that he meant no disrespect. He didn't want any violence and didn't want Jay and the new girl to be hurt because of him. Allister waited, slightly nervous of the outcome, his right hand out of sight, resting on the desert eagle under his left shoulder.

Jay had kept her eyes on the young girl watching from the distance. She had become quite aware that she knew Jay was trying to get her to go away and was simply ignoring it. She chuckled under her breath thinking to herself, "What a little brat..."
When she heard Allister decline the invitation of General Brezhnev she had looked back and fourth between both men, her finger tips brushing against her hilster incase guns were going to go blazing. Fortuntely it looked like things wouldn't come to that.
"General Brezhnev, if you're so bent on using Allister here, why don't you accompany him then? Make it easier for yourself and leave the big stuff to your soldiers," she explained. As she spoke it had seemed that with all the chit chat, they'd attracted a few visitors. Those all too familiar sounds of shuffling and the occasional, hungry groans had bounced off the alleyway walls, echoing through the quiet evening.
Looking back, there were more than five undead staggering around to the scene from every which way, appearing from behind dumpsters, cars, alleys and some even climbing through broken barricades. She knew it was too peaceful.
"Ah s***."

Inside, Brezhnev was furious. The boy was smart, too smart. He wanted to put a bullet in the head of the smug young man so badly that he could taste it. He hands' grip tightened on the Kalishnakov as the woman spoke.
You're losing it, Mikhail... the long dead voice in his head spoke. The voice was that of Col. Leylushenko, the traitorious dog of his Union. Weaponizing the virus....it's already as weaponized as it can get....the scientists would tell you that once they get to your labs...and what then? Shoot them? Of course....when you don't get what you want... the voice chuckled in Brezhnev's head.
"I am sorry...that you see it that way," Brezhnev replied. "However, please-"
The sound of the moaning and shuffling of the undead cut him off. The General instinctivly drew his Makarov and fired a silenced round into the nearest infected. The killing brought his stress level down slightly. He then turned back to the man and woman.
"How about we finish this in a more safe enviroment?" Brezhnev asked, as his men took tactical stances, sweeping their weapons from zombie to zombie, thier number now at around seven not counting the one Brezhnev had dispatched. The longer that they stood out in the open, the more of a crowd they drew.
"At least....allow me and my men to escort you for a while, then you can judge from our actions better than my words, yes?"

Allister noticed the undead for the first time. They were encroaching fast. General Brezhnev and his men were quick to react, and began lowering the undead numbers, but it would be rude to just sit and do nothing. Allister turned to the building on his left. Looking around a bit he found a bundle of cable wires. Freeing them from the lower section of the house, he used them to begin scaling the building. Half way up he reached a fire escape. Allister swung over to it and took hold. Stepping onto the platform he unslung his rifle and knelt down.
"I'll cover the east flank." Allister shouted down to his new companions. He relaxed and peered through his scope. Scanning the area, Alliser picked an approaching undead and managed a quick headshot. He pulled back the bolt on his rifle, expelling the spent cartridge and slid it back into place, locking in a fresh round. Picking a new target, Allister repeated the process. After 4 more clean headshots Allister paused. He noticed strange movement up the road. It was something feral. Allister adjusted his scope to compensate for the distance. His heart skipped a beat. Running towards the group were three lickers, and hungry looking ones at that.
"Guys, we have a bit of a situation. We have three friends approaching quickly that would love to wrap their tounges around our throats. Might I suggest moving to a better location?" Allister looked around from his higher vantage point. He spotted something in the distance. "I can see the hospital from here. It's only several blocks away. There appear to be several good alleys to funnel the lickers through so that me may engage them on our terms. Also I need to pick up a few things from the hospital if that's all right with you."
Allister peered through his sight again. One of the lickers was within range. He fired, but the wind took the bullet and it missed the lickers head by an inch, hitting it in the shoulder. After this shot the lickers became weary. They split and dove into the surrounding alleys.
"s***." Allister breathed. "I've lost sight of them. We'd better move before they get too close." Allister picked off another undead before jumping down. He turned to the small girl. "Its not safe here, your welcome to come with us if you want."
Allister slung his rifle on his back and waited for the opinions of the others. In the back of his mind he half hoped one of the lickers would get close enough to kill. Afterall, he hadn't done much research on them yet.

"Ah, hell." July said to Allister in her deep voice. The creatures with the tongues were back. When she wanted to be away from the dogs at the Fire Department, she didn't mean that she wanted to be near the creatures with the tongues. Though they did not seem as fast as the dogs, they were more flexible and climbed on top of walls, making it just as difficult to dodge if not even more.
It wasn't her job to follow others to places that she didn't need to be, but to be away from the things that had a higher chance of killing her, she would follow the one type of person she hated most. However, she had a feeling that she probably shouldn't trust some of them in the group just like she was sure that a few of the people, more than likely the woman, wouldn't have any reason to trust her.
"Ain't nowhere that's safe. Them things are everywhere." she responded, "But, what the hell. Anything's better than bein' out here." She didn't introduce herself, but made sure that her handgun was ready to be fired at anything that tried to attack her.

Jay had spent damn near 4 shells at some of the stray dead that just kept accumilating out of ever frickin' oriface in the neighborhood. She had to grin though as she shuffled through her ammunition and pulled out her last two rounds for her shotgun.
"Sneaky little bastards, I tell ya!" she said right before hearing a loud screech. She spun around and noticed one of those licking bastards crawling on all fours, slamming it's body against buildings and boarded windows, to get to her.
She quickly reloaded and cocked her shotgun, taking aim when it lunged at her. "Woah!" she yelled, diving aside as she narrowly evaded a possible decap in the process. The licker was persistent. Then again so were the ghouls. One of them proved that when they lunged for her back. She had twisted her upperbody back, jamming the butt of her gun into it's face and kicking a silver trashcan into his way, tripping it and sending it crashing to the ground.
She merely started her chase after the others, one licker still pouncing about above them, trying to catch it's meal of six. Jay looked back and then up as she noticed it scaling the building walls again. "Hey, I'm damn near out of ammunition here for me shotty, a pistol ain't gonna do crap, mind saving our asses, anyone?" she asked, a twang of amusement in her voice.
"No? Fine," she quickly said, slinging her shotgun over her shoulder and whipping out one of her sidearms. She took shot at three metal containers, the bullets had ricocheted, but the loud clanging at set the licker into a state on confusion. It growled and hissed, loosing it's grip and falling to it's back, twitching and writhing from the noise.
That should slow it and any others down. she thought to herself.
While Jay escaped with the others, she couldn't help but notice that the little girl had tailed along with them. She didn't know whether to be glad she did or concerned. Either way, it wasn't any of her business.

Brezhnev and his men moved with the group, attacking the infected as they got too close for the General's comfort.
"If we are going to the hospital...then let's go!" Brezhnev growled, as he and his men took the lead. The Russian was highly unamused at this point. The Umbrella scientist was being uncooperative, there were too many people for him to simply kill him in the street, and where were his comrades? Shouldn't they be here as back up?

Allister spun around and took aim at the dazed licker. He took a quick shot but in his haste, the round went slightly to the right, catching the licker where the neck meets the head. The shot might suffice but Allister didn't want to risk it. He quickly stood and continued running.
"Alright, let's hightail it to the hospital. If we can't outrun these things then we'll set up a defensive perimeter there. Let's move!"
Allister sprinted quickly down the alley, slinging his rifle and drawing his desert eagle. He fired rounds into the skulls of any undead that strayed too close. After making several turns and running a fair distance, the group finally emerged onto the street, standing before the hospital.

(You are welcome to control people to move when they are ready to move and you are in a group. However, I was waiting for you to respond because July said something to you.)
"Hospital." the name was a complete foreign language to July. If she had ever heard the word, it would have been from a long time ago and she would have forgotten the meaning. A few of the other words Allister said were missing from her personal dictionary, but one word she knew was "hightail" and doing it sounded like a really good idea, especially with the lickers around.
July didn't even need to use her handgun on the undead in the street. She was quick enough to outrun them and flexible enough to move out of the way while running. It was one of the useful things that she learned from her job. She was even quick enough to keep up with Allister with no problems at all.

Today was a...day, just like all the others. They all seemed the same to Serenity. Her concept of time was foggy. She was starting to grow a bit hungry, she would need to find someone to supply her with food soon. Subconsciously, Serenity puzzled over that thought. Hazy questions formed in her mind. 'Why do people help me?' Serenity always found this question puzzling. She saw what the ghouls did to others, but for some reason they didn't touch her, they helped her. Also, people were always trying to save her from them. She couldn't understand why, they were friendly enough.
Serenity had no concept of what the scientists had done to her. She couldn't understand why people always cared for her, while others were being killed. Most of all, she couldn't understand why the fire was following her. It didn't show up too often, but when it did, Serenity was the closest to feeling fear that she could get. If she was able to, she would have hated it, despised it. Everything about the fire was bad. Every time it showed up it would burn her. The constant burns were always painful, and it seemed that whenever they would start to heal, the fire would return.
Serenity stopped walking and looked around. She was on a quiet street. There were a few ghouls shambling around, aimlessly wandering. Cars dotted the street. One of them was on fire, but aside from that, all was quiet. Serenity turned towards one of the houses that lined the street. The front door was open. Serenity knew enough that houses could have food in them, and decided to go have a look.
Slowly, Serenity walked to the door. She wasn't in a rush. She never was. After stepping through the doorway she stopped and looked around. The door entered onto a hallway. Serenity continued inside, her patent leather shoes clicking on the hardwood floor, and echoing through the quiet house. As she reached a door way, I ghoul lurched out at her. It was a middle aged man, rather round. He appeared to be coming straight for her, but as he drew near, he stopped. She looked up impassively at him, his features changing from a frenzied charge, to a blank indifference. Serenity didn't think anything of it.
Serenity walked past the man into the room he had just emerged from. It was the kitchen. Serenity walked slowly around the room, looking in cabinets for some form of food. Finding nothing, she tried the fridge. When she pulled on the handle, the door didn't budge. She tried again to no avail. Either the door was stuck, or she was simply to weak to open it.
Giving up on the fridge, Serenity looked around the room and spotted something. On a high shelf, there were several boxes, most likely crackers or cookies. Serenity turned around and spotted a chair. Walking to it, she pushed it to the spot underneath the shelf. Climbing on top of it, Serenity stretched out her arm for a box. She was at least a foot and a half short. She tried standing on her toes, thinking that would help. Her stomach growled. She renewed her efforts to grab a box, standing on her toes, and reaching for a shelf that was far too high for her to get to.

From the rooftop, he watched the little girl make her away around the streets, through the scope of his rifle. She seemed to be making her way somewhere, no doubt back to the home with survivors inside, whichever one that was. The only reason he didnt call out is because that would attract attention of the infected down below, and only make matters worse. Though somehow, the little girl was doing a good job at avoiding the walkers, it was almost like they didnt even notice her. Taking the time to switch sides, he climbed up into the peak of the roof, and then slide down near the bottem to get a better shot at the house whom the girl was now entering.
Watching through the windows was no easy task, as he only had limited range of where he could shoot. But from what he could see, the place wasnt blocked off, nor barricaded in the slightest, meaning the little girl was in a bad situation. She wasnt return back to a safehouse, she was on the streets here in Raccoon City alone. With that, he kept close eye on the windows, seeing the girl through on, and a number of infected through the others. As one of the zombies had came closer to the girl, a shot rang off, and the corpse fell to the ground with a large chunk of its head missing. From here, they would be onto his location, and the danger would be away from the girl long enough for him to get down and inside quickly enough.
Upon entering the house, he slammed the door shut, and pushed the couch against it to block anymore infected off from getting inside. The ones that here inside had been coming toward him, three of them, but were easily dispatched by the rifle at medium range. Entering the kitchen with the gun drawn forward, he lowered the weapon once he saw the girl, and then spoke out once the house seemed clear of any walkers. "Hey, its not safe to be out here alone. Do you have any family to go to? Ill help you find them, just stick close to me, okay? I wont hurt you, im not one of them." In a sense, it was baffling why John would even go out of his way to help a survivor, it wasnt exactly in his nature. But she was only a young girl, what was he suppose to do?

While reaching for the boxes, Serenity heard a voice behind her. Temporarily ceasing her efforts, she turned on the chair to see a man with a rifle standing in the door. She cocked her head to one side as he spoke. She retained every piece of information she heard, but her comprehension was slow. She didn't understand all of what he said, but nor did she really care.
Serenity's stomach growled again. Without breaking her gaze on the man, she pointed up to the shelf. Perhaps he would help her grab one of the boxes. He seemed like he wanted to help her, so Serenity could see no reason why he wouldn't get the box for her.
She turned back and looked at the shelf. Then looking back to the man again, guessed that he should be able to reach it. In the past people had gotten things from high places for her. This should be the same, right?
Staring directly into the man's eyes, she once again pointed at the shelf, waiting for him to help her.

Jerking his head back to the door, John could hear the infected outside banging away at the wood. The windows had been wide open, but right now they were piling up at the entrance. It would take time for them to gather up in numbers and break it down, and even longer for them to go around to the windows. But these was no response coming from the girl, only a gesture to the box of crackers up on the shelf. The little girl had looked American, if not, english speaking. However, thinking about it further, he gathered that maybe she hadnt been raised to speak many words. A girl her age wouldve had a hard time being raised during the outbreak, and as an orphan, wouldnt have a chance at speaking to strangers.
Grabbing the food from the tall shelf, John slipped it into his bag, and then grabbed onto the girls wrist to guide her through the house. But she didnt cooperate very well, brushing his hand off with a surprisingly violent push. Just then, the windows in the living room had smashed open, and the infected had squeezed themselves into the house. "Okay kid, keep close, and follow me." John spoke out, really hoping she would at least understand him and follow along out of danger.
