“You sure aint Einstein.” Daniel muttered, standing still as he watched the man leave with Rio. As soon as the door was closed, he knew going to it wouldn’t do much. It was either being blocked off, or the man would fire a blast through the door with that shotgun. Instead, he went to the corner to get his knife back. He picked it up and went to the door, putting his ear to it and listening. He couldn’t hear Rio or Jeff anymore, and made his move. Instead of trying to break the door down, he jammed the blade under the hinge of the door and pried. The wood was rotten, it popped out easily. He did the same to the other hinge, and then gave the door a yank. It came out of the frame with ease.
Moving as quietly as he could, he got out of the room and looked around. He could see dust trails, disturbances in the layer of dirt anyway. Some footsteps, some drag marks, and then single footsteps again. He silently put together the scenario in his head and followed them. It didn’t take long to find them. Using the noise of the crane to mask his footsteps, he moved in. Low and quietly, he snuck up behind Jeffery. A creak of the floor gave him away, but he was so close it didn’t matter anymore. Jeff spun to try and aim his weapon, Daniel grabbed the barrel and yanked it to the side. He brought his knee up and buried it into Jeff’s stomach, and snatched the shotgun away. Slamming the butt into the side of Jeff’s face, he sent the man to the ground. He checked to see if it was loaded, it was, he pointed it at Jeff.
“Well, I’m betting this hasn’t turned out as planned.” He said, motioning for Jeff to back off. He did, and Daniel made his way to the crane. He pulled Rio back into the building and pointed. “You got one way to run, Jeff, and five seconds to do it.” Daniel said, packing the weapon tighter to his shoulder.

"Seriously? After what she's been through you have her make snacks for the 'men'? You need to recheck your diploma doc."
Malcom kept his hands on his weapons whilst he sat, not in the mood for food or drink, but thanked Shella anyway.
"Seriously though, you shouldn't be letting people like Caleb walk all over you until being worm food looks like a good option. People who rule by fear have very little ability to back it up with, he mouths off again you should kick him in the stones."
A crashing noise from Daniel breaking through the doors whilst chasing Jeff. Malcom looked towards the noise quickly before turning back to everyone else in the room.
"Anyone care to explain? Last I checked mutant worms prefer to stay on ground level, that noise came from a higher floor."

The Doctor stood up with Malcom at the sound of the crash. He motioned some of the men to take up the doors. "When's the last time you saw your friends?" he asked him. He then looked at Shella as she hid back in the corner. "Where did Calab go?" he asked. She shook her head, and he sighed a bit. "We best go check it out then. Incase your friends are in the problem too," he said as they made their way for the door. As soon as Malcom was out the door the Doc was already making his move. Brining the butt of the hidden gun down across the back of his head.
He watched as Malcom hit the ground hard, but didn't knock him out. Sighing a bit he brought his fist down across his face making sure that he was out cold. "Tie him up and watch him," he said before walking down the road. He came to the old house which was missing the upper wall. Walking inside he made his way up the stairs to the commotion. Pulling it out he aimed it at Daniel's back as he walked over to the controls again. "Really. You have one simple task and you screw it up as always," he growled. Hitting the switch he watched as the craine extended back out over the street. "Where's Calab?" he asked looking back.
"How should I know. That bastered ran off as soon as he lead this one to the room," Jeffery barked as he picked up his weapon and trained it back on Daniel. "What do we do with him."
"Let him watch his friend. Then we'll feed these two to the children."

“Oh, that’s cute, the children…” Daniel muttered, his hands at his sides. His fingers twitched, debating what he was going to do. He had no intention of dying, nor letting Rio die. He was just wondering how he was going to do this.
“So, little Jeffy here a total f**k-up? That why you had to come and check on things Doc?” He said. He saw anger play on Jeff’s face. “Ya, I could see how that works. I mean, look at the guy. Let me guess. You, your mama was a nice respectable woman, right?” He said, looking back at the doctor. “Yours…” He said, looking at Jeff. “Sister of the village idiot?” He asked. Jeff was almost ready. “No, no… You look more like… Was she a prostitute?” He said. Jeff snapped, storming over and slamming the butt of the shotgun into Daniels stomach. Daniel dropped to a knee, gasping for breath for a moment and standing back up. “That was it, wasn’t it?” He said, a smile on his face. “I got a knack for these things, I must be psychic. Which is why I know your going to hit me again.” Daniel said, his smile still there.
“And it’ll be the last thing you ever do.” He said, his smile fading. As if to prove him wrong, Jeff wound up to hit Daniel with the shotgun again. Just before impact, Daniel spun, grabbing Jeff’s shoulder and held him as a shield. The doctor, his reaction to late or too reckless, one of the two, fired a shot. It entered Jeff’s torso, and Daniel ran foreword. More shots rang out, some going wide, some grazing Jeff as the doctor tried to hit Daniel. By the time the Doc ran out of rounds, Daniel shoved the now lifeless body of Jeff into him. The men collided, and Daniel moved to secure the doctor.
As the Doc tried to stand, Daniel met him with a kick in the side, spinning him onto his back. Jamming the dagger that was now in his hand into the center of the Doctor’s back, Daniel shifted the blade around until he felt the resistance free. Walking back toward the controls, he pulled Rio back into the building, and picked up the shotgun. He walked back to the pair, saw a twitch come from Jeff, and fired a shell into the side of the mans head.
“Well Doc, I’ll tell you the same thing I told him.” Daniel said, full circle. “Looks like things aint going according to plan. But you don’t get the five seconds to run I gave him.” He said. “Doubt you could. You being a Doctor and all. You probably know what’s going on.” Daniel said, walking away to get Rio down. He woke her up with a few taps on her cheek and looked over at the doctor.
“Hey, you’re the smart one here. You think Doc will ever walk again?” He asked her, the dagger still sticking out the center of the Doc’s back. Daniel shucked the shell out of the weapon and looked toward the entrance. No way anyone from around here was going to come from the hole in the wall. And thinking of which… He got an idea. An idea that had no purpose but sadistic revenge.

Malcom went limp as he was hit, playing possum for now until everyone let their guard down. Under the doctors orders a pair of men took his rifles and sword, then gathered a rope to tie him. As they rolled him over Mal grabbed the two knives he had hidden.
"That doc loves cheap sucker punches doesn't he?"
He lunged forward jabbing the blades into each mans thigh and giving them a quick twist. The two men dropped as he pulled the knives out and stood up, reclaiming his gear and heading for the door, taking one of the drinks Shella had left out on the way.
"Thanks, been working up a thirst for kickin ass since I got here, and kickin ass works up its own thirst. Just keep pressure on those wounds boys, I wouldn't recommend trying to hobble after me until the doc can take a look at you."
Malcom thought he should check on Elijah first, see what the doctor had even been doing all this time. He rushed across the street and kicked in the door to his building, searching around with both guns raised.
"Health inspector, I've been recieving a lot of complaints about the behaviour of the staff in this area.....big stinking worms, plus the mutants don't score you any points."

Rio opened her eyes a bit groggy and looked up at Daniel as he stood over her. She listened to what he had to say and it didn't take long before she was able to put everything together. She looked at Jeffery and then back to Daniel. She shook her head tiredly as she tried to stand, but ended up slumping into him. "No," she said tiredly before looking up at him. "No you ar . . ." her words trailed off as the building shook violently. Half of the floor seemed to give way as the items slid off into the street below.
There was the sound of cracking as buildings around them seemed to fall apart. There building shook again causing the floor to give way sending the three of them sliding down and into the street. Rio hit the ground hard as she tried to stand up only feeling a sharp pain in her ankle. She looked back, but didn't see anything broken. She tried to stand again, but the pain brought her back to her knees. She looked up as the ground around her seemed to crumble around her indicating that there was more than one worm. "Daniel," she called out as she tried to look for him. "Daniel!" she cried.
----------------------------
As Malcom made his way through the Doctor's office he noticed a door thrown off it's hinges, and inside the room was a bed with several straps and medical equipment. Though the bed was empty, and the IV lines looked like they had been ripped from the persons arm as a bit of blood dripped to the ground. As he moved further into the building he heard rustling coming from the office, and when he opened the door he seen Elijha leaning up against the desk reading through a file. She waved her hand in the air before closing the file. Outside there was sounds of buildings crumbling and people screaming, along with the sound of gunfire.
"It sounds like I missed a lot," she said as she waved the file in the air. The logo on the file was that of Sincell. "Looks like father has his hold on this place. That doctor sure as hell knew what he was doing. Those damn drugs are making it kind of hard for me to stay up. Body feels like jellow," she said as she saggered forward. "Damn this is pathetic," she mumbled as she handed him the file. "It may seem that we have a bit of a worm problem. Mind catching me up on what's going on?"

Daniel hit the ground hard, the dirt doing little to cushion the fall. He scrambled for the shotgun, and when he couldn’t find it he abandoned the effort. He heard Rio scream, and found her much easier than the weapon. Standing and running, watching her collapse under her own weight on her injured ankle, he slid in the loose dirt before bending down and scooping her up. She was almost weightless, and he had no trouble standing back up and running. His first instinct was to get to solid ground. He leapt up into the collapsed building, over what remained of the crane, and came to rest for a moment on the wood floor that remained.
Looking for a way out, a way back into town, he ran through the building while the roof held, exiting soon before the roof finally caved in. Again, he stopped for just a moment. He could see the town, not far away. The hotel, where they had started, being the closest. Making a break for it, he went for broke when he felt the tremors beneath his feet. Diving into the doorway, turning to the side at the last second to avoid bending Rio in half, they landed on the ground in a heap, for the most part her landing on him to break her fall.
Laying in silence for a moment, waiting to see if they were safe, Daniel was soon assured that they were. Sighing in relief, he made no move to get up.
“You know… Your heavier than you look.” He said to Rio with a quick grin, panting from the run.

Malcom took the file and browsed over it, handing Elijah one of the rifles in case they suddenly needed to defend themselves.
"Sincell again? What are the odds of them running this town? Good enough reason to level it for me. How about we get to the car, load up on explosives and find Daniel and Rio?"
He helped Elijah walk out to the street, bracing her when the rumbling started and one of the buildings collapsed, a few worms poking out of the ground as Daniel and Rio ducked into cover. Malcom got Elijah into the back of the hummvee so she could help herself to the weapons as he started the engine and drove down to help out. Swinging the vehicle around he reversed into a surfacing worm and stopped in front of the building doorway, swinging open the passenger driver side door.
"Guys, I suggest you get it in gear, we may have to split a little faster than expected."

Rio looked around oddly at the room and then down at Daniel. "I didn't know white boys could run," she said with a grin. "Or jump." She shifted to climb off of him only to cring when she felt the pain in her ankle. There was a loud crack followed by the ground shaking. She looked around and then down at Daniel. With dust falling from the ceiling she looked up at the roof to the second floor as it began to crack. Daniel was quick on his feet as he shoved her off of him, and away from the crumbling room. Though he wasn't able to make it out of the way of the falling ceiling as it crumbled ontop of him.
"Daniel!" Rio screamed as she tried to go to him, but was stopped short as the rest of the second floor gave way. She curled up into a ball and covered her head as rest of the ceiling fell away.
"Malcom," Elijha said as she shifted for the door, but stopped as the vehicle rocked violently. "Someone's ****ed off the worms," she growled.

“I’m just cool like that.” Daniel said with a laugh, making a move to stand up when Rio climbed off of him. He saw the hummer through the open front door of the hotel, and grabbed onto Rio to support her bad ankle to the vehicle. He looked up to the crack he heard and knew the roof wouldn’t hold. He grabbed onto Rio and shoved her, knowing that the hesitation would leave him too late to escape it. Either that or he ran and left her, it was one or the other.
He got to the ground and covered his head and neck with his arms, shrinking his legs up to try and make himself as small as he could. Debris fell, and he got lucky. Beams and boards stacked, leaving him mostly unpinned, but buried under the rubble. He pulled his left leg out of the pile of junk it was under, pushing against a board with it to see if it was broken. Nope. So far, so good.
“Go, get out of here!” He yelled through the debris. They couldn’t get all of this s*** off of him in time, not with the worms closing in. He had an idea… “I’ll catch up!” He added, leaving them to think about how he was going to do that.

"Dammit, hold on."
Malcom gunned the vehicle down the street as he saw the front of the building collapse, avoiding the fissures the worms were digging up. He pulled a hard one eighty at the end of the row of buildings and turned back to pass them from the other side. He stopped at what he approxamated was the same place, judging from the tilting of the walls.
"Elijah, see if they have anything in that file, I'm going to just step out and see what's taking these two so long. If there is any trouble just grab something from the pile and start blasting."
He leaned over to slam the passenger door on a worm who was probing the vehicle, before climbing back to grab some extra gear, a bandolier of grenades, a tazer, a shotgun and his liquid nitro door breaker. Climbing out but not touching the ground he crawled on top of the hummer and tossed a grenade in the opposite direction. The blast confused the worms for a few moments and they tunneled around trying to get their bearings. Malcom rushed inside the building finding Daniel pinned.
"Gimme just a sec." He jammed the door breaker into the wreckage and injected the freezing nitro. "Gonna have to be precise with this, or you might lose a leg." He pulled the breaker out and smashed at the frozen debris with the shotgun stock, freeing Daniel and handing him the gun.
"Rio? Not a good time to be hiding, we need a catchup of what's going down here."

"Hidding!" Rio chimmed in from across the room. She pushed off several of the boards off of her. She looked around the room as she room and then seen Malcom at the front of the room. "Hey. Is Daniel okay," she asked as she reached for the crumbling wall. Pauzing for a moment as the floor began to shake.
"Hey would you guys hurry up!" Elijha called from the hummer. "Those fishures are getting closer."
"Hey she's up," Rio said with a bit of a puzzled look. Shaking her head she moved to step on her bad foot and cringed when the pain shot threw her leg. She shook her head and pushed the pain aside as she bit her lip. With the wall's help she was able to hoble over to Malcom. "We need to get the babies. They aren't really attacking the buildins," she said as she looked at him. "That's why the buildings were standing for so long. There searching for the babies" she said as she looked around for Daniel. "Are you okay."

“Oh, that sucked…” Daniel said as Malcolm helped him up, stretching for a moment and picking a sliver of wood out of his hand. “Good lookin’ out.” He said, motioning to the door breech-er. The more he’d thought about it, the more he had began to doubt his plan. He had began to think he would get swallowed before he was able to ride it out of the hole. And then he probably would have been crushed between the worm and the debris when it came up. He really hadn’t thought that through…
He looked at Rio for a moment, confused. Why did they give a flying f**k about the baby worms? And then… “She’s right, you’ll need to go and get them. That’s why the big ones are going crazy, that f**ker Caleb has a bunch of babies in tanks at the basement of that building at the edge of town.” Daniel explained. “We’ll drop you off.” He said, going to Rio and supporting her to the vehicle. He put her in the passenger seat and waited for Malcolm.
“You good for some worm wrangling?” Daniel asked, looking at Elijha in the rear view mirror for a moment. When Malcolm was in, Daniel took off toward the building.

"Babies? Why the heck is he collecting worm babies? He think people won't notice his lack of backbone is he hangs around invertibrates?"
Malcom rushed into the car, rolling down the window as Daniel took off, tossing a few concussion grenades as a distraction. One of the worms tried to jam its tongue inside to check the vehicle, but a quick jab with the tazer discouraged it. Then got searching the back for more useful weapons.
"I take it we're on a non lethal approach? These things just want their babies back and they'll back off?"
He retrieved a bean bag riot gun and loaded a round, taking a belt of spare rounds for backup.
"I'll play that game, but some of these townspeople got to answer for some stuff. Caleb and that sucker punching doc included."

Rio looked back at Malcom as he mentioned the doctor. "Don't worry about the doctor anymore," she said as she looked at what was left of the house. "Down in the basement there is a bookshelf hidding the door to the room. A large fish tank holds the three babies. Your best bet would be just to carry the tank up and dump it in the sand," she pointed out as Malcom and Elisha got out of the hummer. "As Daniel has planned we'll buy time. More than likely if they feel you in that room they'll think there children are in danger. Just hurry and you should be fine."
As Elisha shut the door Daniel took off down there street to the outside of the town. Rio looked back as the ground behind them shook violently and the ground rose as the worms started surfacing. "There following us," she called out as she turned to look back at him. "Hopefully this would give them enough time." Rio glanced back on occasion to make sure they were still following. The last time she realized that they had stopped. The ground was smooth, and the only sound was that of there tires. "Head back. There not following us anymore."
Rio settled back into the seat as Daniel turned the hummer around. She shifted in her seat as she realized the ground was shaking agian. "Hey," she called out. She sat straight up and looked around to see if she could find out what was causing it. The before they knew it the hummer jerked violently as it was throwin into the sky. It landed a few feet away on it's nose before it roled to the back, and then hit it's side as it roled a couple more times before it landed on it's roof and slid to a stop. With glass shattered, and the two hanging upside down by the steatbelts. The worm quickly made it's way toward them, before stopping at the last moment and disappearing beneith the surface.
Rio woke slightly in pain, and tried to move only to find that her body was to sore to move. She looked out the shattered window to see a set of feet standing out her window. "M- Malcom," she groaned slightly.
"Sorry dear," Riko said as he knelt down to look inside. "The two of you look like hell," he said as he reached inside and grabbed the file. "You don't need this anymore." He turned to stand up, but stopped for a moment. "Right. Dr Wolfe told me to give his daughters friends a gift," he said as he pulled out a vial. He drew the liquid up into two needles. Stabbing one into Rio's neck, and then walking around the truck and doing the same to him. "Don't worry it wont hurt now," he laughed as he stood up. "Oh and on a side note. Art's second squad is suppose to be heading this way. She's still under the impression that Elisha has branwashed the three of you." With that he disappeared off into the desert. As he dissappeared Rio passed out in her seat.
----------------------------------------
Elisha quickly followed behind Malcom as they made there way down the stairs. She looked around at the crumbling building and the echo of the of the sand around them. "There," she said as she pointed to the bookshelf that Malcom was quick to move out of the way. Opening the door revealed a large room with a fish tank at one end, and shelves lined with worm bodies in jars. "This is like a pore escuse for a torture room," she mumbled as she turned to help Malcom with the tank. "Gosh this thing is heavy," she groaned as they walked sideways toward the door.
With Malcom taking the lead he had to carefully watch his step as he moved backwards. One step at a time they were moving more slowly up the stairs than they were expected, but the tank was a lot heavier than they realized it would be. Finally the door came into view as the room began to shake even more. "There here," she said as they walked out of the door. Surfacing as the pulled the tank out onto the poarch were several large worms. "Yeah I really think there here," she said as she looked at them. "Hopefully this works." Carefully watching the worms as they tipped the tank over allowing the baby worms to slid out and burrow under the surface. The larger worms watched for a moment before burrowing into the sand. "Lets home they don't see revenge. Right now we need to go find the others."
