Daniel, in a daze, tried to figure out what had happened. The hummer had crashed, he figured out that much. But how? Had it been worms? Or something else. He heard a voice, and his mind went to the ‘something else’. He pulled his knife out and used it to slice through the seat belt. Bracing himself for the sudden fall to the roof, he began to crawl out when he felt the needle in the back of his neck.
He tried to attack whoever it was that did it, found he couldn’t reach up and attack. His body weak, he watched the figure walk away into the desert. He hoped like Hell the man would die of dehydration…
Crawling out of the wreck, Daniel stopped when he was clear and tried to stand, collapsing when his left leg gave out on him. He tried again, and the same thing happened. He didn’t know what was wrong, but he had to get Rio out. He crawled to the other side and used the dagger on her seat belt, catching her before she fell and easing her out of the vehicle. He couldn’t feel the tremors anymore, but he wanted to be safe. From his knees, he lifted her up with a great deal of effort and put her up on the wreckage. He climbed up himself and laid there for a moment, trying not to pass out from the effort. As his lungs burned and he panted like he had just run a marathon, he managed to lift his head and look for Elijha and Malcolm. Neither were in sight yet.
He hoped they’d made it…

Malcom watched the worms stop their attack when they freed the infants, tossing the empty tank aside when they were done.
"Y'know, we should be able to solve more problems by throwing babies at it."
A crash sounded outside after Elijah suggested getting back to the team. The pair rushed back to see the vehicle overturned and Daniel and Rio getting out of the wreckage. Malcom pointed his gun around looking for any sight or sign of the attackers whilst directing Elijah to check on them.
"You're the better medic, see how they're doing. This doesn't look like the worms did this though, no upturned earth."

Elisha looked at Malcom with a bit of alarm. She wasn't any closer to a medic than he was. All she knew was what consisted of her own medical problem. "Well then," she said as she looked at their surrounding area. "Rio's the doctor of the bunch," she said as she walked carefully beside Malcom watching their steps as they moved. She stopped a few feet from the hummer and knelt down. "Look at this," she said holding up a piece of chared metal. "This was not the worms," she said as she tossed the piece away.
She jogged up to the hummer and climbed up and knelt beside Rio. She checked her kneck for a pulse, and then Daniel. She seen his eyes open for a moment before closing again. "There pulses are week. There cuts I can't tell how bad they actually are from the blood, and it my look like Daniel has a broken leg. Also I don't know how bad Rio's ribs are especially since they haven't healed from the last ordeal," she pointed out. "Grab Daniel," she said as she picked up Rio.
She held her gently in her arms as she waited for Malcom to grab Daniel. "The doctors office is our best bet," she said as they started making their way back to the town. "We'll have to get another vehicle and come clean up all are stuff before someone else does." With that she pushed open the door with her foot and held it open for Malcom. She walked to one room to lay Rio down on the bed. She tended to her cuts as best as she could, before heading to do what she could for Daniel. "Alright. Something tells me that we need to get out of here before who ever set that bomb comes back."

Daniel shot up and let out a half yell, before it was cut off and a groan escaped.
“Easy…” He said, looking over at Elijha. He looked toward the window, then to Malcolm and then Rio. They were still in town, and that was a bad thing.
“Gimme some tape, and help Rio. We have to get out of here right now.” He said. “Mal, go and get a car, watch your back. There’s bound to be someone left.” He said. Personally, he hadn’t gotten to kill Caleb, odds were that f**ker was hiding like the worms he’d kept coming around.
“Art’s on the way, I don’t know how she found us, but we need to leave before she gets here.” He said. It wouldn’t be long, knowing their luck. He caught a roll of medical tape as someone threw it to him and he began wrapping it tightly around the broken area in his leg. He could feel it now, tell where it was broken. “f**k!” He yelled out suddenly, groaning for a moment. “That hurts…” He said, wrapping it tighter. Hard part was over.

"Okay, watch yourselves while you're at it." He left the riot gun and ammo belt behind. "Anyone comes, aim for their squishy parts. I'll grab what I can salvage from our car."
He made his way back onto the streets, taking a carrier box with him in case he needed to shift a few things. Running to the end of the town he found a garage door hidden behind a few easily thrown aside boxed, throwing it open he found a large van, surprisingly in good condition compared to the town, must have been some sort of backup escape vehicle the doctor was hiding in case things went too sour. A quick checkover showed it was in full working order, even a weapons rack set up in the side panels, and seats that could recline into beds or stretchers in the rear. Malcom used his sword tip to start it up and drove back to the crashed hummvee, roughly throwing any salvagable weapons, ammo and equipment into a box in the rear, it could be sorted later on but for now at least they had most of it in good condition. Locking up he pulled up right in front of the doctors building, opening the panel door in front of the doctors door to let everyone get in and keep any troublemakers out. He stepped over to help Rio and Daniel make it over.
"You guys fit to travel? We got a new ride all gassed up and loaded with gear."

Elijha nodded to Malcom as he came back. She walked over to pick up Rio as carefully as she could. She didn't realize that she was awake until Rio moaned slightly. She looked down at her and smiled lightly. "Your going to be okay," she said as she moved to follow Malcom out of the office as he helped. She stepped around to the other side of the car and opened the back door. She slid Rio in and buckled her up and then looked over to Daniel. "The next town we get to we will have to reset your leg," she said as she shut the door. "Start the car. I want to get a few more things for us."
She ran back into the building grabbing a bag and loading it down with medical suppies. She grabbed a few splints for Daniel along with a set of crutches if he wated to use them when she set his leg. She ran back back out to the car and threw everything into the trunk, and then climbed into the passanger seat. "Our best bet would to be hit . . ." she trailed off at the sound of gunfire. She looked up to a line of men standing in front of them. "Uh- friends of yours," she asked looking at Malcom and Daniel. It was then that she seen Calab walking out of one of the buildings. "Never mind. Friends of my dad. Got any ideas?" she asked looking at them and then at the line of guns.

“We could ask them nicely to move.” Daniel said from the back while he was busy with a block of explosives. He jammed the spike of the detonator into the plastic explosive and hit the button to arm it. Setting it down, he then grabbed a Glock out of the bag and checked it. It was still loaded.
“All right.” He said, passing the block up to Elijha. “Malcolm, gun it.” He said, opening one of the back windows and sticking the pistol out. He fired off a few shots, breaking up the line as the men went for cover after one of the fell to the ground, a stray bullet in his stomach. “Throw that out there.” He said to Elijha. The shockwave of the blast would knock them off their feet for sure, probably kill more than a few of them. They just needed to get the hell out of there before he could blow it.

Malcom put one of the back seats into the stretcher position as Elijah put Rio into it, before grabbing a few guns for himself up front as he started the van and got ready to drive. A few shots into the sand near them directed his attention towards the small mob Caleb had formed up ahead.
"Hey, the locals are coming for our bon voyage party. Let's pass on a few gifts as we leave huh Danny?"
He spun the tires a little before speeding towards the crowd, firing a handgun out the window wildly to scatter them. Caleb was one of the first to take off, Malcom made a point of driving parallel to him.
"Hey baby snatcher, pat on the back for a job well done?" He opened the drivers side door, hitting Caleb as they drove before heading to the outskirts of town as the crowd tried to reorganise itself.

Elijha nodded as she rolled down her window and waited for them to pass by the group of men trying to kill them. As Malcom drove by them she threw the c4 out the window at the gathering group again. As the van drove outside of the town there was a loud explosion that hinted to the elimination of a few more of Sincell's team members. She unbuckled and shifted around so she could get a look at Rio. "Hey," she said when she noticed that she was awake. "How are you feeling?"
Rio looked at Elijha and then to Daniel before closing her eyes and just relaxing as much as she could. Before she knew it she had passed out once more.
"Well that's never good. How is her breathing?" she asked Daniel. "I kind of have an issue trying to get back there at the moment." She looked back at Malcom and then to Daniel. "Have any idea of where we should go now?"

Daniel set down the detonator and reached over toward Rio, checking her pulse and feeling for breathing. “She’s breathing, pulse is a bit slow.” He said. Hopefully she would be ok for the ride.
“Head toward Nevada.” He said. “You have GPS on that thing?” He asked Malcolm, indicating his PDA. He used it for everything, odds were he did. He nodded, and Daniel reached up to grab it when it was offered. He switched to the GPS and input a set of longitude and latitude. Before long, the machine was mapping out the route. Estimated travel time, seven hours and change.
“Follow that.” He said, handing it back up. He leaned back and sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. He wasn’t going to fall asleep, no matter how much he wanted to.
----------Several Hours Later----------
The group pulled up to the house, if it could be called that. It looked like a roof sticking out of the ground, only a foot or so above. Daniel grabbed the crutches, got out and started moving toward it. Around the back, there was a staircase going down. He moved a foot or so from it and used the end of the crutch to start digging in the sand. After trying to bend down to get to it, he sighed and looked back.
“Hey, one of you come here!” He yelled out. He’d dug up the keys to the door, six of them.

Elijha followed Daniel around to the other side of the roof to find him digging in the dirt. She reached down to pick up the keys, and walked down the stairs with him. She used each key to the lock that he had pointed out, and then opened the door. "Paraniod much?" she asked him. She looked at him and grinned. "But considering what's going on now I don't blame you," she said as she headed back up the stairs to the van. "We need to find a place to hid the van too." She said as she headed to the back seat. She picked up Rio and settled her head on her shoulder. "Are you still alive."
"P- painful question," she mumbled under her breath. "I- I think my ribs are broken again."
"I already figured that, but at least your awake and speaking now. Though I wouldn't advise moving to much till we can set your ribs, or anything else broken." She turned to look at Daniel. "We need to get you off your leg and set it as well. Got anywhere we can put her for now?" she asked as she followed him back to the house.

“I had a good reason to be paranoid…“ He said, trailing off. Back when he’d been in the UBCS, screwed over Umbrella and took off with a lot of their money. Best thing he’d ever done, considering shortly after they went down and no one was left to look for him. He looked at her when she asked for a place to put Rio. “Ya, got a couch or a bed.” Daniel said, pointing her to the bedroom. She could see the couch when she opened the door. “We’ll be in in a moment.” He said. He went back outside, cursing himself for putting so many goddamn stairs in, and waved over to Malcolm. About thirty feet from the house, he grabbed a brown painted chain and started to pull. When he couldn’t anymore, he moved back and began to pull again. The chain was attached to a large piece of plywood, covering a large hole in the ground lined with concrete. Underneath it was what could pass as a garage, a car under a tarp and some tool boxes were there, with a space big enough Malcolm to part the van.
“Park it, put the cover back, come on in.” He said as he started toward the house. When he got there, he opened a door near the staircase entrance and walked inside. He primed a generator a few times and pulled a ripcord, the loud noise filling the whole house. Lights came on, and Daniel shut the door, the sound cutting off as soon as the door was closed. He’d sound proofed that room, tired of the sound.
Pulling a chair out from a desk, he collapsed into it and looked around. He hadn’t been here for four years, but the place didn’t look bad. Back in his regular ol’ mercenary days. Speaking of which… “Elijha.” He yelled. “When you get her settled, go into the room, look in the bedside table. Bring me the box you find.” He said. “Good sized box, foot by a foot by a foot.” He added.

Malcom waited with the van as the rest of the group headed inside, then parked it in the dugout area. He checked over for anything left behind and packed it all in the carrier crate with the guns and gear before heading back up and pulling the cover back over the hole, making sure to kick the sand around to make sure it was well hidden. Afterwards he followed Daniel and the others down to the shelter.
"Nice place, you spend your time spying on area 51 before we joined AFDS?" He set the box down in the corner, would get to work repairing and cleaning the gear as needed when they got time, most of it seemed good though.
"Hold up, I'll help with that." He set up a military cot leaning against the wall and helped Elijah get Rio settled before she went looking for the box Daniel told her to find. "Rest up kid, we'll get you some real medical checkups soon, no worms or weirdos. You doing okay?"

Elijha watched as Malcom took the box out to Daniel. She had looked around for windows, but found none. When she was satisfied about the light she removed her hoodie and gloves setting them in the corner on a chair. She looked down at Rio as she seemed to be drifting in and out of conciousness. She smiled as she covered her up with the blanket and made sure she was comfortable as much as she could get. "Alright get some more rest, and then once I get everything sorted. Hopefully you'll be out long enough that I can set your ribs without it even hurting you," she pointed out.
She waited for Rio to drift again, and then walked out of the room. She left the door open just in case something went wrong with Rio. She looked around for the medical supplies and then found that Malcom had placed them in the corner. She walked over and sorted through them. "Alright. When you are ready we need to set your leg. No to mention hope that Rio is out before I even attempt to set her ribs." She looked at the box that Malcom had gotten for him. "So what's in there?" she asked.

“Stuff.” Daniel said nonchalantly as he lifted the lid off the box. Inside were an assortment of cell phones, and a single charging cable that fit them all. Daniel picked one of them out and hooked the cable into it. He leaned down and hooked it into a wall jack, then turned the phone on.
“Got some friends in Oregon, they should be able to deliver us some things.” He said. He kept it vague, not sure how they’d react to him calling a group of arms dealers. Not bad guys, but criminals. A fine line, but still a line. “Got food in the kitchen. Sort of. Go get something, I’ll be ready in a bit.” He said. He watched them walk away, probably wondering what he meant. He’d explain later, but he didn’t want to be here very long. A few days at max, however long it took for them to get back on their feet.
He input a number and heard it ring a few times, wondering if the group was still operational. Someone answered, and he recognized the voice. Old second in command, probably in command now.
“Hello Jack.” Daniel said.
The man, after thinking who it could be that had the number, answered.
“Daniel?”
“Yep. How ya been?” Daniel said.
“Not bad. Lost Clay, but it was bound to happen. You?”
“Rather not say.” Daniel answered. Jack understood. “I need some guns.” He said.
“I figured. We got a good stock in, you called at the perfect time.” Jack said.
“You still got the Hawg series?” Daniel asked.
“Yep, all of them.” Jack said.
“Ok, four 14.45’s, four Nite’s.” He said. “Throw in twenty five magazines for each.” He said. “An MP5A5, MP5K, twenty five magazines each. And some ammo. 2400 .45’s, 1500 9mm, few hundred shotgun shells. Slugs, buckshot, got any frag rounds?” He asked.
“Ya, got some of them. Got em out of…”
“I don’t wanna know where you got them. Just bring them. Think you could stop out and get some medical supplies?” He asked.
“I could do that, for a price.” He said.
“I figured. I need some medicine, bandages, a chest cast. Bring whatever you find, I have a medic here who can pick out what they need.” He said.
“Same place?” Jack asked.
“Yep. Remember where it is?” Daniel asked.
“Ya, I remember. Gonna be about 17000.” Jack said.
“I have twenty for you if you can get here this time tomorrow.” Daniel said. If they drove all night, they could get here in fifteen hours. That gave them nine hours to get everything packed up.
“I can do that. See you then.”
They both hung up at the same time, and Daniel laid back in his seat. He wasn’t liking what was going to happen next, but he called to Elijha and told her he was ready for her to set his leg.
