Malcom watched shocked as Daniel stood up faster than expected and walking perfectly.
"Holy crap. Next thing I want to hear is that you met Jesus during that weapons sale. Otherwise I'm a little freaked out."
He rushed into the other room to find out what was happening with Elijah and Rio.
"Hey Elijah, I don't want to cause a panic but I'm expecting Rio to wake up feeling fine any second now. You don't want to know how I'm predicting that. Might want to recalibrate that scanner some and try again."

Elijha looked up to see what Malcom was talking about. She was surprised to see Daniel standing in the doorway on his broken leg. It seemed as if he had never even broken it or never been in a car accident either. She looked down at Rio as she laid in the bed, but she didn't look any better. She had woken up, but she was panting heavily. She reached down to touch her forehead pulling back and looked at the two of them. "Well I don't think Rio is going to be as lucky," she said as she stood up. "Daniel can you get me some cold water and a rag," she asked as she walked to the bags. She pulled up a syringe of medication, before walking back to the bed and sitting down on the edge.
"Maybe it's for the fact that she was hurt to begin with," she pointed out as she gave Rio the shot. She turned and took the bowl from Daniel and sat it down on the table. She took the rag and whiped Rio's face, before wetting it and setting it on her forehead. She looked down and watched as Rio settled down, and opened her eyes again. "How are you feeling?"
"Hot," she spoke in a whisper. "What's going on?"
"You got really sick. Did Riko tell you anything about what he injected you and Daniel with?"
"Riko?" she asked a bit confused. "I . . . I don't . . ."
"It's okay. Just relax."
"I'm sorry," she said as she looked over to see Daniel standing at the doorway. "You look better."

“Ya…” Daniel said, still confused. It had to be the injection, that was the only thing that could explain it. But why was Rio reacting like she was, and he was just fine? It didn’t make any sense. Or did it?
“Can I talk to you out here?” He said to Elijha. When Rio was stable again, as stable as she could be, Elijha came out.
“Remember all of the tests people would do on humans with all the viruses and compounds?” He said. He didn’t know if she was even old enough to remember the events that had transpired over a decade ago, and if she was if she even was aware of them. He didn’t know how long her captivity had gone on.
“Well, some of them worked. One in ten million people ended up showing positive results. All good, no bad.” He said. Was he one of them? Had Riko injected them with a virus, just to try and use them as weapons against the other two? It was what the virus had been made for, it made sense. Low maintenance assassination, no fuss if it started an outbreak, the world was already going through another one. Four more zombies? Big deal.
“Draw a sample of her blood, look for something odd.” He said. He doubted the scanner would pick up something like this, it was so obscure the machine wouldn’t have anything to compare it to.

"I'm a little tired of this thing being outdated a few hours after we bought it. Let me try something while you work on the blood sample, back in a few."
Malcom took the scanner into the main room and hooked it up to his PDA with a USB cable. After looking for the serial numbers on the back and the manufacturers label he had a good idea of websites to search for upgrades or patches they could use.
"Congratulations on your purchase of yadda yadda ya....oh here we go. In light of current medical advances we are offering a new upgrade to scanner software for.....damn, must be for those private practise hollywood doctors."
He started the download of the software, pausing at a payment warning.
"Well Art, you owe me backpay anyway, might as well come out of the AFDS purse. I'll make sure the complimentary gift cards and pen goes your way at least." He typed in the account numbers and made a clean transaction that would only lead between the AFDS servers and the scanner company if anyone tried to trace it. "Never say I didn't do anything nice."

Elijha looked back to Rio and then to Daniel. "I was young. Shut in, but I do remember the news reports when the virus hit the states," she said as she looked over to Malcom. "I'll take a look at her blood and see what I can find. It's unlike Sincell to go old school, but then again it could also make it easer to keep the goverment itself from tracking it back to them."
She walked back into the room shuffling through a bit more of the bags. "I grabbed pratically an entire lab," she said as she pulled out a box. Opening it up she set the micrascope and it's slides on the night table. She walked over to Rio and drew up a bit of blood. She set it on the night table and pulled out a second scope and set it on the night stand. She walked over to Daneil and drew some blood as well. She set them on the slids and then on the scopes.
Looking through the scopes she was a bit surpries at what see seen. "Well in a way this is good and bad," she said as she leaned back. "Both bloods I can bearly make out that there is something foregin in there. It's running around rampent in Rio's blood, but it seems to be bonding with Daniel's." she said looking back at him as she stood up. She looked down at Rio as she laid in the bed looking up at them. "We need to move to a place that is actually close to a lab."
"There is a lab in the Dekota mountains. M . . . my brother and I use to live in a cabin about five minutes from there," Rio said as she tried sitting back up. With Elijha's help she rested against the headboard. "We built it during the first outbreak with our parents. It was never registered, and there is a town not but thirty minutes from there either." She flinched slightly as she grabbed her side. Elijha went to help her, but Rio shook her off. "I'll be okay."

“All right, looks like we have our heading.” He said. Priority one was getting to that lab, they’d need it to find out just what the problem was. “Mountains… We’ll need some cold weather clothing, something I don’t have lying around. Vegas is about twenty minutes away, we can get it there. I say we round everything up now, get there, and head right for the lab.” He said.
He moved to the dresser in the room and pulled out a new set of clothes. Exactly the same as the ones he wore now, sans the tears and the removed pant leg. Looking back, he pulled out a few more sets. Holding a set up and moving to the bed. He laid it out next to Rio and did some mental measurements.
“Cuff the sleeves and pants, get her a belt, they’ll do.” He said. He looked at Elijha, and just now noticed just how much blood she had on her. He took out another set and gave them to her. “Same for you.” He said. He looked at the three sets of black clothing and arched an eyebrow. “It was the 90’s. Back then, you got black or olive.” He said, shrugging his shoulders. He took his own set and went into the bathroom to change. As he took the shirt off, he started to put the new one on when he noticed something. In his life, he had accumulated a lot of scars. The biggest on his torso being an infected spider bite, flesh healing in a weird way and leaving small craters just above his collar bone. He checked his right leg, saw the scar from the knife would there gone as well. Any little mark that he had once sported was gone. Pushing it from his mind, he dressed quickly and went out to the living room.
He grabbed the holster’s he had for his weapons, that had come in the boxes with the new guns, and started attaching them. The compact went onto his right ankle, on the outside, while the dagger went onto the inside. He put the other on his pants belt instead of a supplied pistol belt and draped the shirt over it. Looking around the room, he saw the finishing touches.
Walking to the wall, he pulled out a knife that was stuck to the wall, the poster of a bull’s-eye. He looked toward the other side of the wall and threw it. It stuck into the wall easily. He took out another, did the same. The third, the same. Letting out a smirk as he picked a sheath off the wall with three slots and attached it to the back of his belt.
“Still got it…” He whispered, yanking the knives free and sliding them into the sheath. There wasn’t much they needed to take. Each had weapons and ammo, basic equipment was pretty much nonexistent besides the medical supplies. They could carry those easily.
“I’m gonna load up everything.” He yelled into the room. He picked up the boxes with loose rounds in them, taking the two small plastic boxes that contained Rio’s pistols as well. Hauling them up with ease, the ease he usually experienced, and moved out of the house. When he got to the hidden garage, he balanced the boxes with one hand and grabbed the chain. Hauling the top off of the hiding spot, he walked down the ramp and opened the back of the van. He slid all of the boxes to one side, quickly yanking one off. It was full of the pistol magazines of both sizes. He took his share, 25 and 25, and set them in the other box that was exclusively his. Full of shotgun shells, red buckshot, green slugs, white frag rounds. He put all of it in that open crate before he pulled it out and set it down.
Pulling a set of keys off a hook, he walked to the covered car and pulled it off. A 2000 Mustang, with almost a hundred grand under the hood and in the body. Bullet proof body, glass, and tires, topped out at two hundred miles per hour. Umbrella’s money put to good use.
He put the box in the trunk and kept it open, popping the hood and looking at the engine. Everything looked good, but he’d done a few things before he left. For one, he’d drained all the fluids from the car. Gas, oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, even windshield cleaner. That, and he’d unhooked the battery. Five minute fix, the whole thing. He took the few moments to fill the car back up with fluid and hook up the battery before he got inside and started it up. It roared to life in an instant. He took all of the fluids, as well as a toolbox and an emergency road kit and put them into the trunk, slamming it shut and getting back into the vehicle to pull it up. He parked to the side and went back down, getting the van and bringing it up too.
He got back into the house and gathered up all the medical equipment, taking it to the van before he grabbed his shotgun and stood in the living room.
“Everyone ready to go?” He yelled into the house.

Once the software was downloaded Malcom went back in to check on the others, carrying the scanner with him.
"Okay, updated the medical software so it should give better test results and point out more from recently approved data. Also I took the liberty of adding some secondary software from Military Armament Research Syndicate. Aside from playing doctor we can now analyse weapons, ballastics and explosives in case we ever need to trace anything."
He listened as Elijah gave the information of the blood test, concerned about Rio's condition but also about Daniel, in case he could suddenly go Tyrant at any time, or if any side effects would pop up that Umbrella never found out in their work. The unfortunate result of regularly losing entire labs and causing zombie outbreaks everytime someone so much as sneezed.
"So Vegas, sounds good, get doing what needs done and then bet everything on black." He grabbed his sword and gun. "Although I'm not under the impression that we won't see a bit of ultraviolence."
He helped Elijah get Rio ready for moving whilst Daniel prepared the vehicles. Soon ready with a stretcher to wheel her out to the van.

Elijha looked at the make shift stretcher and then at Daryl. "I'm not going to ask how you put one of those together so fast, but I'm greatful," she said as she moved to help Rio. With just the minimal movement she could already feel Rio's body trimbling from the pain. After a few seconds she was on the stretcher, and they were carrying her up the sets and to the van. Rio was placed gently in the back where she could lay down. Elijha gave her another shot of morphine, and checked her over before turning back to the others. "She should actually be good to move on her own tomorrow. Her ribs will still be bothering her, but at least they would have time to settle into the proper place," she pointed out.
She looked over to the car and grinned slightly. "Nice car. Hopefully when Rio's capable of moving we can get rid of the van," she pointed out. She let Malcom take control of the van, and climbed in the passanger seat in order to have easier access to Rio. "You start to feel light headed pull over immediatly," she called to Daniel. With his nod they were off to Vegas.
(Group now moved to Vegas)
